Osgoode, Ontario

Carleton is a provincial riding in Ontario, Canada. It was created in 1867 at the time of confederation and lasted until provincial redistribution in 1996. In the 1999 provincial election it was redistributed into Nepean—Carleton and Lanark—Carleton. In 2007 it was abolished into Carleton—Mississippi Mills and Lanark—Frontenac—Lennox and Addington. In 2018 it was re-created as the riding of Carleton from parts of Nepean—Carleton, Carleton—Mississippi Mills and Ottawa South.

Carleton is a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1867 to 1968 and since 2015. It was represented in the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada from 1821 to 1840 and in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada from 1841 until 1866. It has been represented by Pierre Poilievre the current Leader of the Opposition since it's creation in 2015. The original riding was created by the British North America Act of 1867. However, the riding had existed since 1821 in the Parliament of Upper Canada and the Parliament of the Province of Canada. It originally consisted of Carleton County. In 1966, it was redistributed into the new electoral districts of Grenville—Carleton, Lanark and Renfrew, Ottawa Centre, Ottawa West and Ottawa—Carleton. This riding was re-created by the 2012 electoral redistribution from parts of Nepean—Carleton (59%), Carleton—Mississippi Mills (41%) and a small portion of Ottawa South. It was contested in the 2015 federal election.

Kars is a village on the Rideau River within Rideau-Jock Ward in the city of Ottawa, Ontario. Prior to joining the city in 2000 it was part of Rideau Township.

Stevens Creek is a stream in Ontario, Canada. It springs in the marshes of Marlborough Forest, flowing northeast to North Gower, where a smaller unnamed stream joins Stevens Creek from the north. It drains into the Rideau River in Kars at its most easterly point. Stevens Creek was named for Roger Stevens, a United Empire Loyalist and British spy who drowned there in 1793.

Rideau Valley Air Park (TC LID: CPL3) is a registered aerodrome located 3 nautical miles (5.6 km; 3.5 mi) south of Kars, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on the shore of the Rideau River. The aerodrome has a single 1,800 by 100 ft (549 by 30 m) grass runway, and serves mainly ultralight and glider traffic.

The Swords and Ploughshares Museum is a private military museum located south of the village of Kars, Ontario, Canada. The Museum is focused on a specific aspect of Canadian military history: the Citizen Soldier (the Militiaman and Reservist) at peace and at war. The Museum uses vehicles and artifacts to demonstrate how they could be adapted and used by Citizen Soldiers for both military and civilian purposes. For example, a Ram tank from World War II that was modified after the war to serve as a snowplow was a featured display at the Museum for many years.Amongst the artifacts and equipment that the Museum displays is a 1942 Bofors 40 mm Light Anti-Aircraft Gun which is maintained as a living monument and memorial for Canadian anti-aircraft gunners.

Dalmeny is a dispersed rural community located near the source of the South Castor River in the Osgoode Ward of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The population of the surrounding area is about 225. Prior to amalgamation in 2001, Dalmeny was in Osgoode Township.

North Gower Township is a former and now geographic township in eastern Ontario, Canada, now located in Ottawa. It contains the communities of Manotick and North Gower. North Gower (pronounced "North Gor") was located in the southern part of Carleton County, bordered to the northwest by Goulbourn Township, to the north by Nepean, to the east by Osgoode and to the south by South Gower Township. It is separated from North Grenville and Osgoode by the Rideau River. Originally known as Township C, it was established in 1792. In 1800, it became part of Carleton County and was incorporated as a township in 1850. The first settlers in the township were United Empire Loyalists. The township was first settled by Stephen Blanchard in 1820. The village of North Gower was first settled in 1846 and was originally known as Stephensville. The township merged with Marlborough Township and Long Island in 1974 to become Rideau Township. Rideau, in turn, became part of the amalgamated city of Ottawa in 2001. North Gower Township took its name from Admiral John Leveson-Gower, Lord of the Admiralty from 1783 to 1789. At one time, there was also a South Gower Township.According to the Canada 2016 Census, the former township had a population of 10,971 (former boundaries, including Long Island). As of the Canada 2021 Census, this had increased to 12,341.

CJOT-FM (99.7 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Ottawa, Ontario. It broadcasts a classic hits format and is owned by Corus Entertainment. The station uses its on-air brand name Boom 99.7. CJOT's studios and offices are located on Merivale Road in Nepean along with sister station CKQB-FM. The transmitter is located off Stagecoach Road (Route 25) in Greely, southeast of Ottawa.

Osgoode Ward (Ward 20) is a municipal ward located in the rural southeast corner of the City of Ottawa. It mostly consists of the former Osgoode Township and parts of the former city of Gloucester. It is represented on Ottawa City Council by George Darouze. The ward contains the communities of Greely, Osgoode, Metcalfe, Edwards, Kenmore, Vernon, South Gloucester, Ficko, Limebank and Johnston Corners. The ward was created for the 2000 municipal elections in preparation for Osgoode Township's amalgamation into the city of Ottawa. Prior to that, Osgoode Township was located in Cumberland-Osgoode Ward on the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton regional council. From 2000 to 2006, the ward consisted solely of the former Township of Osgoode. Beginning with the 2006 election, the boundaries changed to add much of rural southern Gloucester to the ward.

Kemptville Creek is a stream in the municipalities of North Grenville and Augusta, in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It is in the Ottawa River drainage basin, is a right tributary of the Rideau River, and is under the auspices of the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority.Kemptville Creek is 69 kilometres (43 mi) long and has a drainage basin of 456 square kilometres (176 sq mi). Portions of the drainage basin extend into other municipalities of Leeds and Grenville, such as Athens, Elizabethtown-Kitley and Merrickville–Wolford. The creek was historically referred to by the name South Branch of the Rideau River, until its name was changed to Kemptville Creek in 1908. However, the former name is still in use as of 2015.

Nepean—Carleton was a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada that was represented in the House of Commons from 1979 to 1988, and again from 1997 to 2015. It included the southern portion of the former city of Nepean and adjacent suburban and rural areas of west and southern Ottawa.
