Hoboken Historical Museum

Engine Company No. 2 is a firehouse located at 1313 Washington Street in Hoboken, New Jersey, United States. The firehouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 30, 1984.

Hoboken Shipyard or Hoboken Yard or Beth Steel Hoboken (sometimes called The Plant) was a Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation shipyard that operated from 1938 to 1982 in Hoboken, New Jersey. Bethlehem Steel purchased the shipyard in 1938. The shipyard was founded in 1890 by the W. & A. Fletcher Company. In 1928 Fletcher sold the yard to United Dry Dock Company, called the Fletcher Plant. W. & A. Fletcher Co. was merged with five other New York-based shipbuilding/ship repair companies to form United Dry Docks, Inc. in February 1929. The yard has United States Navy contracts for ship repair. In November 1982 Eliot Braswell, with Hoboken Shipyard purchase the yard. The ship yead had been running at a loss when sold, Braswell was able to make cuts and keep the yard open. Braswell keep 103 workers and let the other go. Braswell also hired new workers. In 1999 the yard was closed and sold for 45 acres of land and waterfront development, including residences, retail space, public promenade and a waterfront park. The waterfront development is between 12th Street, 16th Street and the Hudson River at 40.752029°N 74.0235°W / 40.752029; -74.0235.Hoboken Historical Museum is last standing building of the former shipyard.

Maxwell's, last known as Maxwell's Tavern, was a bar/restaurant and music club in Hoboken, New Jersey. Over several decades the venue attracted a wide variety of acts looking for a change from the New York City concert spaces across the river. Maxwell's initially closed its doors on July 31, 2013, and reopened as Maxwell's Tavern in 2014, under new ownership. It closed again in February 2018.

The Buildings at 1200–1206 Washington Street, also known as the El Dorado Apartments and the Yellow Flats, are a historic district located in Hoboken, Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. The buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 9, 1987.

Weehawken Cove is a cove on the west bank of the Hudson River between the New Jersey municipalities of Hoboken to the south and Weehawken to the north. At the perimeter of the cove are completed sections the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway, offering views of Manhattan and the Palisades. The name Weehawken comes from the Lenape, and can translate as "at the end of", either the Hudson Palisades or the stream which flowed from them into the cove, later the site of the nearby Lincoln Tunnel.

14th Street is a county highway in Hudson County, New Jersey, designated County Route 670. It begins at an intersection with Manhattan Avenue in Union City, also known as the South Wing Viaduct, and proceeds east over the 14th Street Viaduct to terminate at Sinatra Drive on the banks of the Hudson River in Hoboken. It is located at the northern end of Hoboken's street grid, and one of the only east–west streets in the city that allows for two-way traffic. It is located two blocks south of Weehawken Cove.

First Baptist Church (Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church) is a historic church at 901-907 Bloomfield Street in Hoboken, Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. It was built in 1890 from a design by French, Dixon & DeSaldern of New York and added to the National Register in 2006.The church closed in 2014, and in 2017 was being converted into condominiums.

Hoboken Public Schools is a comprehensive community public school district that serves children in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade in Hoboken, in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. The district is one of 31 former Abbott districts statewide that were established pursuant to the decision by the New Jersey Supreme Court in Abbott v. Burke which are now referred to as "SDA Districts" based on the requirement for the state to cover all costs for school building and renovation projects in these districts under the supervision of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority.As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprised of five schools, had an enrollment of 3,138 students and 229.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.7:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "FG", the fourth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.The district participates in the Interdistrict Public School Choice Program, having been approved on November 2, 1999, as one of the first ten districts statewide to participate in the program. Seats in the program for non-resident students are specified by the district and are allocated by lottery, with tuition paid for participating students by the New Jersey Department of Education.

Stevens Institute of Technology is a private research university in Hoboken, New Jersey. Founded in 1870, it is one of the oldest technological universities in the United States and was the first college in America solely dedicated to mechanical engineering. The 55-acre campus encompasses Castle Point, the highest point in Hoboken, a campus green and 43 academic, student and administrative buildings. Established through an 1868 bequest from Edwin Augustus Stevens, enrollment at Stevens includes more than 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students representing 47 states and 60 countries throughout Asia, Europe and Latin America. Stevens comprises three schools and one college that deliver technology-based STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) degrees and degrees in business, arts, humanities and social sciences: The Charles V. Schaefer, Jr., School of Engineering and Science, School of Business, School of Systems and Enterprises, and College of Arts and Letters. For undergraduates, Stevens offers the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.). Academy of the Sacred Heart was a Catholic school in Hoboken, New Jersey. Before its closure it was a high school for girls; it had circa 160 students in 2003.It was established as a coeducational day school, with a ten-slot boarding facility for students resident in New York State, in 1868. It at first had a frame building but later it occupied 713 Washington, where it remained for the remainder of its life. Its building later had an expansion.In 2006 it merged with Academy of St. Aloysius to form Caritas Academy, with St. Aloysius hosting the merged school, which closed in 2008.In 2010 Hoboken Charter School moved its K-8 students into the former academy building.

Hoboken Charter School is a K-12 charter school in Hoboken, in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 298 students and 28.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.6:1. There were 58 students (19.5% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 7 (2.3% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

All Saints Episcopal Day School is a co-educational school for students from Nursery to 8th grade. The school is located in Hoboken, New Jersey, and occupies two campuses: the Elementary school and Middle schools are located at 707 Washington Street on the corner of 7th and Washington Streets, and the Early Childhood Center, which is located at 527 Clinton St. on the corner of Sixth and Clinton Streets, houses the Nursery, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs. Both campuses boast historic landmark buildings, and include a gymnasium, movement room, library, science lab, art room, assembly space in the church, and private outdoor play yards. There are SMART Boards in all classrooms and networked computers throughout all of the buildings. The core curriculum consists of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, world language and health, as well as special subjects including art, music, dance, drama, computers, and community service. The overall Student–teacher ratio is 6 to 1. Each grade takes 6-10 field trips in New York City and its environs per year. Beginning in the Fifth Grade, students go on a three-day overnight trips to Sprout Creek (Grade 5) and Frost Valley YMCA (Grade 6-7). Eighth Graders participate in an international exchange program with a school in Ecuador, and spend 10 days living with host families in Quito. The majority of teachers at All Saints hold advanced degrees in their fields and/or areas of expertise, and are certified to teach in the state of New Jersey, and the staff of more than 30 teachers and assistants are supported in continued professional development. One All Saints Middle School teacher was named Teacher of the Year in October 2011 by the New Jersey Council for American Private Education (NJ CAPE). The award is presented annually by NJ CAPE and presented by the New Jersey Deputy Commissioner of Education. The faculty at All Saints routinely present their work at conferences in the state and around the country. All Saints Episcopal Day School is accredited by the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools, is sponsored by All Saints Episcopal Parish, and holds memberships in the National Association of Episcopal Schools and the National Middle School Association.
