The Budapest Zoo & Botanical Garden (Hungarian: Fővárosi Állat- és Növénykert, lit. 'Metropolitan Zoo and Botanical Garden') is the oldest zoo in Hungary and one of the oldest in the world. It has 1,072 animal species and is located within the City Park of Budapest, in the centre of the city, unusually for a zoo. The zoo opened its doors on 9 August 1866. The park has 1–1.1 million visitors every year. The area is a nature reserve, and has some valuable art nouveau buildings designed by Kornél Neuschloss and Károly Kós. The most special animals that are present in the zoo are the Komodo dragon and since December 2011 the wombat. The zoo is located in the city centre and can be reached by Line 1 of the Budapest Metro. Official city card (Budapest Card) owners get a 25% discount for a single ticket into the zoo.

Állatkert was an above-ground station of the M1 line of the Budapest Metro. It existed between 1896 and 1973 on the original surface alignment of the line through the Városliget (City Park) from Hősök tere station to a surface terminus at Széchenyi fürdő station. In 1973, in connection with the extension of the line to Mexikói út station, the line was diverted on a different route under the park. The old surface terminus at Széchényi fürdo was replaced by a new underground station on the same site, but Állatkert station was abandoned.The only remaining visible feature of the station and the railway it stood on is a bridge, which formerly crossed the metro line but now simply crosses a lawn. It is a very early example of a reinforced concrete bridge, designed by György Brüggemann and built by Róbert Wünsch.

The Museum of Fine Arts (Hungarian: Szépművészeti Múzeum [ˈseːpmyveːsɛti ˈmuːzɛum]) is a museum in Heroes' Square, Budapest, Hungary, facing the Palace of Art. It was built by the plans of Albert Schickedanz and Fülöp Herzog in an eclectic-neoclassical style , between 1900 and 1906. The museum's collection is made up of international art (other than Hungarian), including all periods of European art, and comprises more than 100,000 pieces. The collection is made up of older additions such as those from Buda Castle, the Esterházy and Zichy estates, as well as donations from individual collectors. The Museum's collection is made up of six departments: Egyptian, Antique, Old sculpture gallery, Old master paintings gallery, Modern collection, Graphics collection. The institution celebrated its centenary in 2006.

The Dózsa György Street Synagogue Budapest XIII. district synagogue. Originally used as a synagogue, the building is now used by the Budapest Honved Fencing Hall, and the religious building continues in a smaller building formerly used as a cultural hall under the religious guidance of Rabbi Peter Deutsch.

Hősök tere is a station of the yellow M1 line of the Budapest Metro. Formerly called Aréna út station, it lies under Hősök tere (Heroes' Square) at the outer end of Andrássy Avenue. The station was opened on 2 May 1896 as part of the inaugural section of the Budapest Metro, between Vörösmarty tér and Széchenyi fürdő. This section, known as the Millennium Underground Railway, was the first metro system in continental Europe. In 2002, it was included into the World Heritage Site "Budapest, including the Banks of the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter and Andrássy Avenue".Until 1973, the line came to the surface just beyond Hősök tere and followed an indirect surface alignment through the Városliget (City Park), passing the intermediate Állatkert station to a surface terminus at Széchenyi fürdő. In 1973 the line was diverted at Hősök tere and extended to a new terminus at Mexikói út station. The new extension followed a new underground route beneath the park, with a new intermediate station at the site of the previous terminus. Állatkert station was closed. The station has two side platforms, each with its own independent access from the street.

Hősök tere (Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈhøːʃøk ˈtɛrɛ]), lit. Heroes' Square, is one of the major squares in Budapest, Hungary, noted for its iconic Millennium Monument with statues featuring the Seven chieftains of the Magyars and other important Hungarian national leaders, as well as the Memorial Stone of Heroes, often erroneously referred as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The square lies at the outbound end of Andrássy Avenue next to City Park (Városliget). It hosts the Museum of Fine Arts and the Palace of Art (Műcsarnok). The square has played an important part in contemporary Hungarian history and has been a host to many political events, such as the reburial of Imre Nagy in 1989. Most sculptures were made by sculptor György Zala from Lendava, with one made by György Vastagh. In Budapest there are three more squares named Hősök tere, 'Heroes' Square', in the districts or neighbourhoods of Soroksár, Békásmegyer and Rákosliget.

Epreskert Art Colony (Hungarian: Epreskerti művésztelep; the name means "Mulberry Garden" in Hungarian) was an artists' colony in Budapest in the last decades of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. Among the artists who worked and lived there the most important were sculptors György Zala and Adolf Huszár, and painter Árpád Feszty.

The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum is a private museum located on Andrássy Street in the Terézváros district of Budapest, Hungary. The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum provides a home for nearly a thousand artifacts from eleven of the states of today's Southeast Asia. Most of these objects are of gold and date from prehistoric times to the 20th century, illustrating the spectrum of fine arts in Southeast Asia over the past two thousand years. The museum's material is founded on the collection of Dr. István Zelnik, a former diplomat in Vietnam and elsewhere, now a businessman and art collector. Of his assemblage of over 50,000 Southeast Asian artifacts, over 1,000 are on display at the museum. Within the museum it is the compilation of Southeast Asian precious metal (gold and silver) objects that are most striking from the historical and art-historical perspective, and from a collector's and a museological perspective the most extraordinary, including as it does the greatest number of curiosities, which are also valuable in monetary terms. In addition to the treasures it displays, the Gold Museum presents the realms of culture and art in this colourful and multifaceted region. The museum halls lead the visitor across the eras of Southeast Asian art and its exceptional wealth, for this is a place where the cultures of both royal kingdoms and nomadic groups of people have flourished alongside one another. The culture and art of the region have been significantly influenced by that of neighbouring India and China, and other impulses have also arrived here along the trade routes that once wove across the territory (e.g. the maritime and mainland silk roads). The people of these lands have also been open and receptive to many religions, and animism, Hinduism and Buddhism thrived alongside one another. The mainstays of the collection are the gold and silver artefacts from Cham, Khmer, Javanese and tribal cultures. The collection of gold masks surpasses that of the British Museum. The collection of religious objects, statues connected to Buddhism and Hinduism are also outstanding.

It was formerly called Artézi fürdő station. Széchenyi fürdő was the original terminus of the inaugural section of the Budapest Metro from Vörösmarty tér. In 2002, it was included into the World Heritage Site "Budapest, including the Banks of the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter and Andrássy Avenue".There have actually been two stations on the same site. The original station was opened on 2 May 1896 as a surface-level terminal station. It was connected to the underground Hősök tere station by an indirect surface alignment through Állatkert station and the park. On 30 December 1973, a diverted and extended line was opened under the park to Mexikói út station, and a new underground through station was opened at Széchenyi fürdő. At the same time, Állatkert station was abandoned.The station has two side platforms, each with its own independent access from the street.
