The Coomera River is a perennial river in the South East region of Queensland, Australia. Its catchment lies within the Gold Coast and Scenic Rim Region local government areas and covers an area of 489 square kilometres (189 sq mi).

Paradise Point is a coastal suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In the 2016 census, Paradise Point had a population of 6,536 people.

Ephraim Island is luxury residential development located in the suburb of Paradise Point in the north of Gold Coast, Australia. The development is a joint-venture between Lewis Land and Mirvac. The island has an area of 9.6 hectares and was once covered by mangroves. The development is distinctive for inhabiting an artificial island in the Broadwater, connecting to the mainland by a 400-metre bridge. The island, its landmass sculpted into a conspicuous albeit backwards "e" from an aerial view, is divided into two sections. The southern division, the 'tail' of the "e", is covered mostly by undeveloped salt mud-lands. The design provides water frontage to every apartment. The northern 'eye' of the island has been developed to include a marina, 12 larger buildings (the largest topping 11 stories), a restaurant and up to 30 separate beach houses open to the Broadwater. The marina has a capacity of 115 berths.The island was cleared for development long before any construction began. According to locals, the area was devoid of vegetation from as far back as 1992 due to legal confrontations with concerned members of the community. In 2003, the developers (acknowledged as Mirvac and Lewisland) were given a green light by the Gold Coast City Council and started construction. The site was once the largest residential construction project in Queensland. 20% of the island has had its natural habitat preserved.The project is complete as of mid-2008. Some scenes for the feature film Jucy (2010) were shot on the island.

Broadwater is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland. It was created at the 1991 redistribution.The electorate is based on the northern end of the Gold Coast. It includes South Stradbroke Island as well as Labrador, Paradise Point, Runaway Bay and Sanctuary Cove and Coombabah. Since 2017 the local member has been David Crisafulli, who is the leader of the Liberal National Party and the state's Opposition Leader.

South Stradbroke Island (Indigenous: Minjerribah), colloquially South Straddie, is an island that lies within Moreton Bay in the Australian state of Queensland, south of Brisbane and forms the northern end of Gold Coast. The island is a locality within the City of Gold Coast. In the 2021 census, South Stradbroke had a population of 142 people.The 21 kilometres (13 mi) by 2.5 kilometres (1.6 mi) sized island is the smaller one of the two Stradbroke Islands and lies very close to the mainland. The island has hundreds of wild wallabies that are usually human orientated. They are also well known for stealing bread from tents and cabins, and joining campers at their fires. One of more than 360 islands within Moreton Bay, the southern end of South Stradbroke Island fronts the Broadwater, and the tip marks the Gold Coast Seaway, only a matter of metres from the mainland at Southport Spit. In the northeast is Tipplers Passage which separates the island from many smaller islands within the bay closer to the mainland. The east coast borders the Coral Sea. South Stradbroke Island consists mainly of sand dunes, remnant livistona rainforest and melaleuca wetlands. The island also has unique flora and fauna. The golden wallaby is endemic to the island and the agile wallaby, once more common to the region, has now retreated to the island.

Coombabah State School is a P-6 state primary school located in Coombabah, Queensland, Australia. It serves the suburbs of Hope Island, Paradise Point, Hollywell, Runaway Bay and Coombabah. The school, which was established in 1981, had 706 students as of May 2014.

Sanctuary Cove is a gated community and town in the suburb of Hope Island in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It is completely self-contained residential environment with its own shopping centre and entertainment facilities, with the addition of many of the facilities of a holiday resort, such as boating marinas and golf courses. It was the second of such developments in Australia (after St Hubert's Island) and is notable for its impact in planning legislation in Queensland to allow it to proceed, due to the privatisation of such large areas of urban land.

The Australian WPGA Championship is a women's professional golf tournament on the WPGA Tour of Australasia held in Queensland, Australia. First held at Royal Queensland Golf Club in 2022, it later moved to Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club. Players compete to lift the Karrie Webb Cup. Beginning in 2025, the tournament is co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour, as part of its Australian swing alongside the Women's NSW Open and Australian Women's Classic.

In the 2016 census, Runaway Bay had a population of 9,068 people.The neighbourhood of Anglers Paradise (27.9233°S 153.3989°E / -27.9233; 153.3989 (Anglers Paradise)) is situated within Runaway Bay. It is the southern area of Runaway Bay developed before 1967.
