Eidsvåg, Bergen

Eidsvåg Church (Norwegian: Eidsvåg kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Eidsvåg neighborhood in the city of Bergen. It is the church for the Eidsvåg parish which is part of the Åsane prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The large, white, concrete church was built in a rectangular design in 1981 using plans drawn up by the architectural firm Lund + Slaatto Arkitekter from Oslo. The church is a large cube shape, seating about 300 people, and the main sanctuary is expandable up to 500 people.

Sandviken Hospital (Norwegian: Sandviken sykehus) is a psychiatric hospital situated in the Sandviken neighborhood of Bergen, Norway. It is part of Bergen Hospital Trust. The hospital was established in 1891 as Neevengården Hospital. It took the current name in 1978. It is the only secure psychiatric unit within Western Norway Regional Health Authority.

The Choice Lab is a research group at the Department of Economics, at the Norwegian School of Economics. In order to better understand economic and moral choices, The Choice Lab designs experiments that are implemented in controlled laboratory or field settings. The research group consists of researchers devoted to learning more about how people make economic and moral choices, and how governments, corporations and non-governmental institutions can use insights from this research to improve their decision making.

The Norwegian School of Economics (Norwegian: Norges Handelshøyskole) or NHH is a business school situated in Bergen, Norway. It was founded in 1936 as Norway's first business school and is the leading teaching and research institution in Norway for the fields of management and business administration.Admission to NHH is the most selective in the field of business administration in Norway and among the most selective of all study programs offered in Norway. The sole NHH undergraduate program consistently ranks among the most popular first choice for students applying for undergraduate study in Norway. In 2020, NHH was the most popular first choice of all undergraduate programs in Norway, with more than 2,100 first choice applications, and more than 5,000 in total, for 500 places.The school participates in exchange programs with more than 170 foreign business schools and universities in over 50 countries, and around 40 percent of the school's students spend at least one semester on exchange. The school is a member of CEMS (The Global Alliance for Management Education) and the Partnership in International Management (PIM) network. It is accredited by EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB.

Biskopshavn Church (Norwegian: Biskopshavn kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Biskopshavn neighborhood in the city of Bergen. It is the church for the Biskopshavn parish which is part of the Åsane prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The large brick church was built in a long church design in 1966 using plans drawn up by the architects Jakob Myklebust, Bjørn Simonnæs, and Helge Borgen. The church seats about 500 people.

Jordalsvatnet is a lake in the municipality of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. The 0.57-square-kilometre (140-acre) artificial lake has a small dam on the western end and it is the main source of drinking water for the borough of Åsane (population: 40,000) in the city of Bergen, as well as the Ytre Sandviken parts of the neighboring Bergenhus borough. The lake lies east of the village of Eidsvåg, with the European route E39 highway running along the western shoreline. The surrounding valley of Jordalen is primarily agricultural in nature. In May 2005, a new water treatment plant along the lake opened in order to improve the quality of the drinking water. The untreated water coming out of the lake is lower than in other drinking water sources in the Bergen area due to the agricultural activity in the Jordalen valley.

Bergen Airport, Sandviken (Norwegian: Bergen sjøflyplass, Sandviken) is a water airport and heliport situated in the Sandviken neighborhood of Bergen, Norway. The aerodrome is located on the artificial peninsula of Kristiansholm. It is currently serving seaplanes and helicopters operated by Fonnafly aimed at air taxi services at cruise ship tourists. The airport is owned by Bergen Municipality through Bergen Port Authority and is part of the Bergen Port. Operations are carried out by Fonnafly. The airport opened in 1935, although it was not connected to land until 1938. Services were first carried out by Norwegian Air Lines on a coastal route to Oslo. From 1936 also a north-bound service was introduced. Sandviken was taken over by Luftwaffe during the World War II, but little used. Norwegian Air Lines resumed services in 1946 and the following year West Norway Airlines was established with their base at Sandviken. The airlines moved their scheduled flights to Bergen Airport, Hjellestad from 1948 to 1951. West Norway Airlines resumed scheduled flights from Sandviken in 1952, until they ceased operations in 1957. Bergen Airport, Flesland opened in 1955, thus removing most of the traffic from Sandviken.

Åsane is a borough of the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. The borough makes up the northern part of the city, north of the city centre.Åsane is connected to downtown Bergen by the E16/E39 highway. The E16 highway continues on through Åsane to the southeast to the neighboring borough of Arna. The E39 highway continues north through Åsane to the Nordhordland Bridge and then on to the northern municipalities in Vestland county. There are plans to shorten the E39 highway through Åsane, including the construction of two tunnels: Eikås Tunnel (start of construction 2010) and the Nyborg Tunnel (still in the planning stages). Most buses passing through Åsane stop at the centrally located Åsane Terminal.

Bergen School of Architecture or BAS (Norwegian: Bergen Arkitekt Skole) is a private and academically independent school located in Bergen, Norway.BAS offers two master's degree programs: Master of Architecture and Master of Architecture with specialization in Landscape. In the Norwegian context, these two programs stand as alternatives to those offered by the two public architecture schools in Norway (AHO in Oslo and NTNU in Trondheim). BAS programs are accredited by the European Union. BAS is protected by the National Norwegian Law of Alternative Private Education and receives much of its financial support from the Norwegian government. BAS was formally founded in 1986 by the initiative of Arch. Prof. Svein Hatløy and the support of the Bergen Association of Architects. S. Hatløy functioned as the academic and administrative principal until 31 August 2007. Architect and city planner Marianne Skjulhaug took over S. Hatløy as the school's academic and administrative principal on 1 September 2007. The school has approximately 160 students divided into 5 grades. The 5-year-long master's degree programs are divided into two cycles. The first cycle ends with an examination of the works the students have done in the first three grades. The approval of this examination gives the students the right to continue on the second cycle. Even though the school does not offer bachelor's degrees, the approved first cycle at BAS usually is equivalent to a Bachelor of Architecture degree in the EU system. The second cycle at BAS consists of three full-time thematic semester courses and a final 7-months-long diploma project. In September 2009, at a junction in Fredriksberg, Malmö, students performed an art project called A Sunny Day at Fredriksberg.

The Blue Stone (Norwegian: Den blå stein) is a monument in the city of Bergen, Norway. The stone is nine meters (30 feet) long, and made of Brazilian sodalite. It is resting on a stone block, which gives it a characteristic inclination towards the northeast. The entire sculpture is placed on a larger foundation along with a smaller gray square stone sculpture that appears as a cover to an opening at the end of the foundation. It is considered a typical meeting point for the locals. In 2007 the rock was covered with pink plastic as a part of a marketing stunt, and after the 2011 Norway attacks it was used as a memorial site and covered with flowers.The monument was made by Asbjørn Andersen, and presented to the city 27 March 1993 as a gift from the Kavli Trust, who were celebrating their 100th anniversary.

Åsane Storsenter is a shopping centre in the suburb of Åsane in Bergen, Norway. It was established in 2007 when Arken, owned by Steen & Strøm, and Åsane Senter, owned by Nordea Liv, merged in 2007. In January 2012, it consisted of 138 shops. During 2016, the property was acquired by Olav Thon Eiendomsselskap.

Åsane Church (Norwegian: Åsane kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Åsane in the city of Bergen. It is the church for the Åsane parish which is part of the Åsane prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The large, red, brick church was built in a circular design in 1993 using plans drawn up by the architect Trygve Dyngeland. The church seats about 600 people. The church was built to replace the Old Åsane Church which had recently had a large fire.
