St John's Senior School

Northaw is a village in the Welwyn Hatfield district of Hertfordshire, England. It is part of the civil parish of Northaw and Cuffley (where at the 2011 Census the population was included), which was originally known as Northaw. The parish had a population of 5,190 according to the 2001 census, most of whom live in Cuffley. It formed part of the Metropolitan Police District until 2000. The village has a population of around 590 people. Northaw Church of England Primary School was founded in 1879 and the trust deed, which is the school's Christian foundation, remains integral to the ethos and beliefs of the school community. The school is a Voluntary Aided School and is part of the family of the Diocese of St Albans.The parish church of Thomas à Becket is Grade II listed. Built in 1881, by C. Kirk and Son of Sleaford, replacing church of 1809. The north aisle was added in 1887, with choir and vestry added in 1893. The church has complete and original stained glass. The east window is signed Ward Hughes 1882, the west window Ward & Hughes 1887 and the three north aisle windows c. 1895 are by Heaton, Butler and Bayne.A Northaw ex-resident was former cabinet minister Cecil Parkinson.

Botany Bay is a hamlet in Enfield, England, on the outskirts of north London, located in the historic county of Middlesex. It has a population close to 200. The hamlet is centred at the junction of The Ridgeway – the A1005 road that links Enfield to Potters Bar and the M25 motorway – and East Lodge Lane. Enfield Chase lies to the south and west. It is about a mile from the railway station at Crews Hill. Botany Bay was established when Enfield Chase was enclosed in 1777 and was recorded as Botany Bay on C.G. Greenwood's map of 1819. According to the Dictionary of London Place Names its name references Botany Bay in Australia, transferred to the hamlet which was "remote and inaccessible in the middle of Enfield Chase." The place name is repeated in several counties within England.Botany Bay amenities include The Robin Hood public house, a farm shop, a business centre, a cricket ground and club, and a chapel. Botany Bay is served by Transport For London bus route 313, which runs 7 days a week, linking the location to Potters Bar, Enfield and Chingford. The hamlet is part of the Chase ward of the London Borough of Enfield, which also covers Crews Hill, Clay Hill and Bulls Cross. The 2011 census showed that 77% of the ward's population was white (64% British, 11% Other, 2% Irish), 5% was Black African and 3% Black Caribbean.There was a small primary school in the hamlet. In the early 1950s pupils were bused from Hadley Wood to Botany Bay for their schooling.

The Cockfosters Water Tower is a water tower in Cockfosters Road, north London, on the edge of Trent Park, that is known for its hyperboloid structure. It is adjacent to the Cockfosters Reservoir. The tower was built in 1968 to a design by the architect Edmund C. Percey of Scherrer and Hicks, and J.W. Milne, chief engineer of the Lee Valley Water Company. It was later owned by Three Valley Water and Veolia Water and as of 2016, is owned by Affinity Water. It incorporates a supporting hyperboloid lattice of reinforced concrete and has a capacity of 1,130 m³. A number of mobile phone masts are located on the roof of the structure. Percey also designed the grade II listed Tonwell Water Tower (1964).

Trent Park is an English country house, together with its former extensive grounds, in north London. The original great house and a number of statues and other structures located within the grounds (such as the Orangery) are Grade II listed buildings. The site is designated as Metropolitan Green Belt, lies within a conservation area, and is also included at grade II within the Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England.Until 2012, the house and adjacent buildings formed the Trent Park campus of Middlesex University. The campus was home to the performing arts, teacher education, humanities, product design and engineering, television production and biological science departments of the university and the Flood Hazard Research Centre, but was vacated in October 2012. The parkland extends to some 320 hectares (3.2 km2) and has been known as the Trent Country Park since 1973. There is a sports ground in the park, Southgate Hockey Centre. There used to be an indoor tennis court that was attended by royalty. This became a sports hall when the building became a college of education. The Trent Park site was purchased by a developer who received the necessary permits in October 2017 to build 262 residential units; the site will include a museum on the two lower floors of the mansion. The university campus buildings were removed but the historic buildings, gardens and landscape were retained.

Beech Hill Park is a Grade II listed building off Beech Hill in Hadley Wood, North London, that is used today as the club house of Hadley Wood Golf Course. It was built in 1781 for Francis Russell, secretary and surveyor to the Duchy of Lancaster, on land he received when Enfield Chase was broken up. It was later in the ownership of Charles Jack, a property developer who was primarily responsible for the development of Hadley Wood.

Hadley Wood Golf Course is a golf course in Hadley Wood, in the London Borough of Enfield. The course opened in 1922 in the grounds of Beech Hill Park, a grade II listed building. The associated stables are also grade II listed. The course was designed by Dr. Alister MacKenzie.

Camelot House is a grade II listed building at 53 Beech Hill (originally Camlet Way), Hadley Wood. The house was built around 1875–80 by the builder Frederick Lambert.The house was also once known as Broadgates House and a Broadgates Avenue exists nearby.

The Chequers was a public house which occupied a Grade II listed building in Potters Bar, England. Originally opening in the 1700s, the pub moved site across the road and opened in its current location in the 1840s. Although there is no consensus as to when the current building was originally constructed, it started as two separate houses which were joined together before the pub moved onto the site. The building was made Grade II listed in 1985, but the pub shut on 30th December 2019. Before it closed it was the only pub in the British Isles to have traffic lights on site. The pub's namesake is thought to be the chequer tree.

Southgate Hockey Club is a field hockey club based at Southgate Hockey Centre in Trent Park, near Oakwood in London.The men's 1st XI play in the Men's England Hockey League. The club has 9 men's sides, 5 ladies' sides and a large junior section.

Southgate Hockey Centre is a sports ground in Trent Park in North London, near Oakwood. The Centre is home to Southgate Hockey Club and Trent Park Running Club. Southgate Hockey Club's top men's and ladies' teams play in the England Hockey National League, and its numerous other teams cater for players from 6 to 86. The Centre hosts international tournaments during the year. The all-weather pitches are hired by numerous local football clubs and teams as their winter training facility. Nordic Walking UK hold regular courses throughout the year. It has two artificial grass pitches (one water, one sand dressed), and a grass area (which can fit three football pitches). The upper part of the building contains a bar and catering facilities, which are used for sports/social purposes, and are hired by external organisations for parties and conferences. The land is owned by Berkeley Homes, and is currently leased to Southgate Sports and Leisure Trust (SSLT). An agreement with the original landowners, Middlesex University, allowed SSLT, in 1997-98, to build the pitches and clubhouse as part of a £1.4 million project, partly funded (£626,000) by the Sports Lottery Fund.

The Dower House is a Grade II* listed house in Cooper's Lane between Potters Bar and Northaw in Hertfordshire, England. It was built in 1749 and was formerly known as Fairlawn House.

The Cockfosters War Memorial is located at the junction of Chalk Lane and Cockfosters Road in Cockfosters, London. It commemorates the men of the district who died in the first and second World Wars and is in the form of a tapered column with a celtic cross at the top and the names of the dead on the base. It was unveiled by the Bishop of Willesden in March 1921.
