Cusworth

Cusworth Hall is an 18th-century Grade I listed country house in Cusworth, near Doncaster, South Yorkshire in the north of England. Set in the landscaped parklands of Cusworth Park, Cusworth Hall is a good example of a Georgian country house. It is now a country house museum. The house is constructed of ashlar with slate roofs. The rectangular 6 x 5 bay plan main block is linked to 5 x 2 bay service wings.

Roman Ridge is a bridleway that was part of the Roman road of Ermine Street, between Scawsby and Redhouse to the north of Doncaster, England. This footpath departs from the A638 road at The Sun junction with the A635 (or Barnsley Road). Its course runs at an angle bisecting the angle made between the two modern roads. It runs to the west of the A638, roughly parallel to it, through the area of Sunnyfields and on to cross Green Lane, Scawsby on the eastern edge of Little Canada. From there it runs along the western edge of the villages of Highfields and Woodlands until it reaches the Red House junction of the Great North Road. From there, the Roman Ridge joins the A1 (Great North Road) as far as Barnsdale. The Roman Ridge is colloquially known as the Roman Rigg, or ridge.

The village is transected by the A1(M) motorway and is situated at the top of the Don Gorge, some 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Doncaster city centre. With Cusworth to the north, it forms the civil parish of Sprotbrough and Cusworth, which had a population of 12,134 in 2011.The electoral ward of Sprotbrough, including numerous rural villages to the north and west, had a population of 11,143.

Little Canada is a hamlet in the City of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England. It is situated on the B6422 road between Brodsworth and Scawthorpe, approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) north-west of Doncaster city centre. The Scawthorpe subdivision within the Adwick le Street built-up area, which only includes Little Canada and not the bulk of Scawthorpe, had a population of 259 at the 2011 census.

Sprotbrough and Cusworth is a civil parish in the City of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England, with most of its settlements on the western edge of the Doncaster built-up area. It lies between 1 mile (1.6 km) and 4 miles (6.4 km) to the west of Doncaster and is split by the A1(M) motorway. It had a population of 12,166 in 2001 and 12,134 at the 2011 Census. The parish covers some of Doncaster's outlying western suburbs and commuter belt including the villages of Sprotbrough, Cusworth, and a small part of Scawsby, in addition to several rural hamlets and farmsteads. Numerous other parishes border it, among them Warmsworth, Balby, Brodsworth and Marr.
