Lancaster Rural District was a rural district in the county of Lancashire, England. It was created in 1894 and abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972. It was made up of 22 civil parishes to the north and south of the city of Lancaster. It had a population of 8,837 in 1901 and 14,018 in 1961.

Tybroughton, occasionally written Ty Broughton, is the name of a former civil parish, historically in the Maelor Saesneg area of Flintshire, Wales and now in Wrexham County Borough. The rather isolated rural area contains no nucleated villages, although there are a few small hamlets such as Eglwys Cross. The name is still used for an electoral ward of the community of Bronington.

Oldcastle is a former civil parish, now in the parishes of Malpas and Threapwood, in the Cheshire West and Chester district and ceremonial county of Cheshire in England. In 2001 it had a population of 54. The civil parish was abolished in 2015 and merged into Malpas and Threapwood.

Stockton is a former civil parish, now in the parish of Malpas, in the Cheshire West and Chester district and ceremonial county of Cheshire in England. In 2001 it had a population of 21. The civil parish was abolished in 2015 and merged into Malpas.

Cuddington Heath is a village and (as Cuddington) a civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The village is close to the border with Wales (the parish touches the Welsh community of Willington Worthenbury), and the nearest large town is Wrexham in Wales, about ten miles west. Other nearby villages are Threapwood, Malpas and Chorlton Lane. At the 2001 Census, the parish had a population of 180, falling slightly to 171 at the 2011 Census. The parish is the site of Cuddington Hall. The Stockton family were lords of the manor from the 16th to the 18th century: the most eminent of the family was Thomas Stockton (1609-1674), a barrister and later a High Court judge in Ireland.

Chorlton is a civil parish in the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester and ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. Situated to the west of the market town of Malpas, the main settlement in the parish is Chorlton Lane. Local landmarks Chorlton Hall (Grade II) and Chorlton Old Hall (Grade II*) are both listed buildings. In the 2001 census the civil parish had a population of 68, increasing to 124 at the 2011 census.

Horseman's Green is a village in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. Located in the rural southeast of the county borough, it is close to the Wales-England border, in the community of Hanmer, the village is also simply called the Green. A small hamlet outside the village is known as Little Arowry (to distinguish it from the nearby village of Arowry).

Threapwood is a small village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is close to the villages of Shocklach, Worthenbury and Malpas.

St John's Church is in the village of Threapwood, Cheshire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Chester, and the deanery of Malpas. Its benefice is combined with those of St Oswald, Malpas and Holy Trinity, Bickerton. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. The authors of the Buildings of England series state that it is entirely Georgian in style.

Hanmer is a village and community in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. At the 2001 Census the population of the Hanmer community area, which includes Hanmer village itself, Horseman's Green, Halghton and Arowry along with a number of small hamlets, was recorded at 726, reducing to 665 at the 2011 Census.

Chorlton Hall is a country house in the parish of Chorlton, Cheshire, England. It stands some 1.5 miles (2.4 km) northwest of Malpas. The house dates from the 17th century, with additions made in the second quarter of the 19th century. Its entrance front is pebbledashed and it stands on a stone plinth. The roof is slated. The house is in 2½ storeys plus cellars. Across the front are three bays, each with a gable, and with the central bay protruding. On the gables are ball finials. The porch has an ogee-arched entrance. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. A stable block and two cottages to the southeast of the house have also been designated at Grade II.
