St John's Church, Threapwood

Threapwood is a small village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is close to the villages of Shocklach, Worthenbury and Malpas.

Willington Worthenbury (Welsh: Willington Wrddymbre) is a community in Wrexham County Borough, Wales, and is situated near the England–Wales border. It has an area of 2,146 hectares and a population of 730 (2001 census), increasing to 827 at the 2011 census. It contains the villages of Worthenbury and Tallarn Green. It is located on the eastern side of the River Dee in the English Maelor area which is within the boundaries of the historic county of Flintshire. It has the lowest proportion of Welsh language speakers of all the communities in Wrexham county borough, with 88.81% having no knowledge of Welsh according to the 2001 census.

Chorlton is a civil parish in the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester and ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. Situated to the west of the market town of Malpas, the main settlement in the parish is Chorlton Lane. Local landmarks Chorlton Hall (Grade II) and Chorlton Old Hall (Grade II*) are both listed buildings. In the 2001 census the civil parish had a population of 68, increasing to 124 at the 2011 census.

Shocklach Oviatt is a former civil parish, now in the parish of Shocklach Oviatt and District, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The parish of Shocklach comprised the townships Shocklach Oviatt, Church Shocklach and Caldecott. The civil parish was abolished in 2015 to form Shocklach Oviatt and District. Shocklach Oviatt is located approximately 16 kilometres from the border between Wales and England. Set beside the tributary of the River Dee between Wrexham (16 kilometres away) and Nantwich. The River Dee meanders alongside Shocklach Oviatt and is a major salmon and sea trout fishery; and one in which Shocklach fishery engages in. Salmon are most often caught in the sections lying between Shocklach up to Bala Lake.

Tilston is a village and a civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. At the 2001 Census, the population was recorded as 627, reducing to 603 at the 2011 census. St Mary's Church, Tilston, is a Grade II* listed building.

Shocklach is a village in the civil parish of Shocklach Oviatt and District, in the Cheshire West and Chester district, in the county of Cheshire, England. Shocklach village is in the southwestern corner of Cheshire, approximately 1 kilometre (0.6 mi) from the border between Wales and England, the River Dee. The village lies between Wrexham, 10 kilometres (6 mi) to the west, and Nantwich, 21 kilometres (13 mi) to the east.

Lancaster Rural District was a rural district in the county of Lancashire, England. It was created in 1894 and abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972. It was made up of 22 civil parishes to the north and south of the city of Lancaster. It had a population of 8,837 in 1901 and 14,018 in 1961.

Shocklach Oviatt and District is a civil parish in the Cheshire West and Chester unitary authority, in the county of Cheshire, England. The parish was created in 2015, combining the previous civil parishes of Caldecott, Church Shocklach, Horton by Malpas and Shocklach Oviatt. Settlements in the parish include Caldecott Green, Shocklach, Horton Green, Castletown, Green Croft, Lane End, Little Green, Lordsfields, Port Green, Shocklach Green and The Saughans. It has a parish council, the lowest tier of local government. The 2015 mid-year estimate of the parish population was 310.

Chorlton Old Hall is a country house in the parish of Chorlton, Cheshire, England. The house was built in 1666, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed in red-brown brick, and has slate roofs. The house has a T-shaped plan. It formerly had an E-plan, but one wing has been demolished. The house is in 2½ storeys and its entrance front has four bays. The right-hand bay projects and has a shaped gable. The second bay is the entrance bay; this also projects and has a shaped gable, but is smaller. Dormer windows have been inserted in the roof in the first and third bays. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.

Horseman's Green is a village in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. Located in the rural southeast of the county borough, it is close to the Wales-England border, in the community of Hanmer, the village is also simply called the Green. A small hamlet outside the village is known as Little Arowry (to distinguish it from the nearby village of Arowry).
