Rutland Senior Secondary School (RSS) is part of School District 23 Central Okanagan (SD#23) in Kelowna, British Columbia. It is located off Rutland Road, sharing a lot with Rutland Middle School (RMS). It is a comprehensive high school offering a wide array of academic programs including Advanced Placement (AP), British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) dual credit courses, and the Secondary School Apprenticeship program.

Okanagan Christian School or OCS for short is a private academy located in Kelowna, British Columbia with students enrolled in grades Preschool-12. The school takes part in and also sometimes hosts the annual Canadian Adventist School Athletics or CASA for short. Sports played include Volleyball and Flag Football, both are played at the junior (grades 10 down) and senior (Grades 12 down) levels. A student association body manages events like Christmas Banquets, high school lock-in, Spirit week and other small events with both high school and elementary involvement. In 2004 the school underwent major reconstruction, which saw a new front entrance and a rebuilt roof in some areas. An affiliated daycare started in 2014, The Treasure Box Daycare offers Christian based services for preschool-aged children in the city of Kelowna. OCS celebrated its Centennial in 2017. In the Spring of 2017, the constituent members voted to change the name of the school to Okanagan Christian School from Okanagan Adventist Academy Okanagan Christian School is affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church BC Conference which owns and oversees operations in conjunction with the locally elected board of directors.

Ellison is an unincorporated community located approximately midway up the Okanagan valley within the local government jurisdiction of the Regional District of Central Okanagan. The Ellison community is founded upon a heritage of agriculture, rural acreages and scattered residential neighbourhoods within scenic valley terrain.The name Ellison was adopted 1 December 1955, and is named after Price Ellison (1852-1932), a stock raiser and wheat grower that settled here in 1876, and at one time owned or controlled 80% of the property in the area. The Ellison Post Office was opened 1 May 1912, with Thomas Clinton as postmaster, and closed 15 May 1920.The geography of Ellison contains many small and rare dryland ecosystems of open, arid grasslands and pine forest savannahs. Streams that support a diversity of animals and plants cross these dry ecosystems. Water is a precious resource and a focus for biodiversity and wildlife corridors.There are three main streams that cross the Ellison area; Scotty Creek, Whelan Creek and Mill Creek. These streams and their tributaries are an important habitat in their own right and drain into spawning streams for kokanee, trout and other fish. Ellison also has aspen and cottonwood ecosystems that are wet islands in a dry landscape. These wetlands act as a sponge and a filter that maintain water quality and help maintain the quantity of water in aquifers and streams.

The single runway airport operates scheduled air service to Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal, and Seattle, as well as less frequent seasonal service to Cancún, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, and Phoenix. Currently, the airport handles up to 36 commercial departures a day, or approximately 248 departures per week. Three major airlines serve the airport; Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, and WestJet. In 2018, YLW overtook Victoria International Airport to become Canada's 10th busiest airport by passenger traffic with 2,080,372, representing a 9.9% increase over 2017.

Orchard Park Shopping Centre is a regional shopping mall in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. It is the largest shopping mall in the Okanagan. It is located on the major provincial highway, Harvey Avenue (Highway 97), at the intersections of Cooper Road and Dilworth Drive, south of Dilworth Mountain. With over 170 shops and services, Orchard Park Shopping Centre is the largest shopping mall between Greater Vancouver and the Calgary Region.

The Apple Bowl is a multi-purpose stadium located at the Parkinson Recreation Area in Kelowna, British Columbia. It is the home of the Okanagan Sun of the Canadian Junior Football League and the Okanagan FC of the Pacific Coast Soccer League. It is formally the home of the Okanagan Challenge of the same league. Besides hosting field events, it has a rubberized 400m running track and facilities for other track and field events. The stadium seats 1,054 in the grandstand, and an additional 1,200 on aluminum bleachers. and had new molded seating installed in the main grandstand in 2006. The Apple Bowl also has a mini-track, and sand pit for long jump as well as an area for Shot Put events. It is commonly used for Track and Field events. It has hosted the Canadian Bowl twice, in 1997 and 2000, with the latter game drawing a crowd of 6,200 spectators.In 2005, the stadium hosted international age group soccer matches at Under 15 and Under 19 level between Canada and New Zealand.

Immaculata Regional High School is a Roman Catholic high school situated in Kelowna, B.C., Canada. It was under the direction of the Kelowna Catholic Independent School Council. The school is co-educational, offering academic, fine arts, a heavy focus on science programs, as well as strong athletic, performing arts, and other extracurricular programs, for students from grades 8 to 12. The school participates in sporting events under the name of the "Mustangs", with the team colours of green and gold.

McKinley Landing is a small, thinly-populated community on the eastern shore of Lake Okanagan in British Columbia. It was named for John McKinley, an Ontarian who homesteaded in the area for 30 years after arriving via the United States in 1896 in a covered wagon. His landing, all evidence of which is long gone, was used principally by Canadian Pacific Railway boats plying Okanagan Lake. Crews would come ashore to collect wood for the ships’ furnaces, with the vessels then chugging on to more populated places farther north and south.

Father Pandosy Mission, also known as the Okanagan Mission, was the original home for Father Pandosy in Kelowna, British Columbia. He moved to Kelowna in 1859 and started the first settlement of Europeans in that region. The Pandosy Mission has been restored as a museum. It is owned by the Catholic Church and is jointly administered by the Okanagan Historical Society. The area of the mission has been known as Okanagan Mission since, and is a neighbourhood of modern Kelowna.
