Europark Idroscalo Milano

The Idroscalo is an artificial lake in Milan, Italy that was originally constructed as a seaplane airport. It opened on 28 October 1930, in the heyday of seaplanes. When the use of seaplanes for passenger transport declined it became a recreational and sport facility. The lake is 2,600 m (8,500 ft) long and was constructed in the late 1920s. Its width ranges from 250 m (820 ft) to 400 m (1,300 ft) and depth from 3 m (9.8 ft) to 5 m (16 ft). It is situated between the municipalities of Segrate and Peschiera Borromeo, just within Milan's city limits and near Linate Airport.

The Mondadori Palace (Italian: Palazzo Mondadori) is an office building located in Segrate on the outskirts of Milan, Italy. Designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, it was built between 1970 and 1975 to serve as the headquarters for Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, one of Italy's largest publishing companies.Considered one of Niemeyer's most important works in Europe, the building features his characteristically curved, sculptural forms and represents an evolution of ideas first explored in the Itamaraty Palace, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters located in Brasilia. The Mondadori Palace is acclaimed for its structural audacity and monumental presence, with a cantilevered glass office block suspended under gigantic parabolic arches of raw concrete.

Segrate is a railway station in Italy. Located on the Milan–Venice railway, it serves the town of Segrate.

Segrate (Milanese: Segraa [seˈɡrɑː]) is a town and comune (municipality) located in the Metropolitan City of Milan in the Lombardy region of Northern Italy. An eastern suburb of Milan, in its area lies the airport of Milan Linate, the lake Idroscalo, the fair center of Novegro and the famous residential area Milano Due. Europark Idroscalo Milano (originally Lunapark Milano) is a popular amusement park that has been in existence since 1965. Although it is a small town, Segrate hosts large structures such as the CILEA Interuniversity Consortium, among the most advanced supercomputing centers in Europe, and the San Raffaele Hospital. Segrate received the honorary title of city with a presidential decree on 23 June 1989.

Milan Linate Airport (IATA: LIN, ICAO: LIML) is the third international airport of Milan, the second-largest city and largest urban area of Italy, behind Malpensa Airport and Orio al Serio Airport. It served 9,233,475 passengers in 2018, being the fifth busiest airport in Italy.

The Linate Airport disaster occurred in Italy at Linate Airport in Milan on the morning of Monday, 8 October 2001. Scandinavian Airlines System Flight 686, a McDonnell Douglas MD-87 airliner carrying 110 people bound for Copenhagen, Denmark, collided on take-off with a Cessna Citation CJ2: 1  business jet carrying four people bound for Paris, France. All 114 people on both aircraft were killed, as well as four people on the ground.The subsequent investigation determined that the collision was caused by a number of nonfunctioning and nonconforming safety systems, standards, and procedures at the airport.: 125  It remains the deadliest accident in Italian aviation history.

On 25 January 2018, a commuter train operated by Trenord derailed in Pioltello when two of its carriages came off the track en route to Milan. The incident left 3 women dead and more than 100 people injured, of whom 46 needed medical assistance in hospital. 5 of them were in critical condition.

The Mosque of Segrate (Italian: Moschea di Segrate), also known as Masjid al-Rahmàn or Mosque of the Merciful, is a mosque in Segrate, Italy, located on the border to the Milano Due suburb. It was the first mosque with a dome and minaret to be built in Italy after the demolition of the last mosques in Lucera in 1300. The mosque opened on 28 May 1988, and it has been, ever since, Milan's most important mosque and the second-most important mosque in Italy after the Mosque of Rome. The mosque depends on the cultural association "Muslim Centre for Milan and Lombardy", which publishes one of the most important Muslim magazines in Italian, Il messaggero dell'Islam ("The Messenger of Islam").

Vimodrone (Lombard: Vimodron [ʋimuˈdrũː]; historically Modrone or Vico Modrone) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Milan in the Italian region of Lombardy. It is located about 14 kilometres (9 mi) northeast of Milan. Vimodrone borders the following municipalities: Cologno Monzese, Cernusco sul Naviglio, Milan, Pioltello and Segrate. The area has historical associations with the Visconti di Modrone family.

Milano Due (Milan 2, also known as Milano 2) is a residential centre in the Italian town of Segrate (Province of Milan). It was built as a new town by Edilnord, a company associated with the Fininvest group of Silvio Berlusconi. The main peculiarity of Milano Due is its walkability: A system of walkways and bridges connects the whole neighborhood, so that it is possible to walk around without ever intersecting traffic. It was marketed as a residential neighborhood for families of the upper middle class with children. The works started in 1970, and were completed in 1979. Distinctive landmarks are the sporting facilities, a small artificial lake (il laghetto) and a children's playground.

The Viale Enrico Forlanini is a long street located in Milan, Lombardy, Italy. It cuts through a park, connecting the city centre with the Linate Airport and the Idroscalo lake. The street is named after Milan-born aviation pioneer Enrico Forlanini (1848–1930). However, it was originally named after Michele Bianchi (1883–1930), a founding member of the National Fascist Party.

Monluè is a district ("quartiere") of Milan, Italy, part of the Zone 4 administrative division, located east of the city centre. It is a small residential district that originated as a rural settlement. As a consequence of its isolation from the city proper, it has maintained wide green areas (the most notable of which is Monluè Park) and the general appearance of a small country town. The prominent landmark of the district is the eponymous Cascina Monluè, an ancient abbey built by the Humiliati religious order, that has been later adapted as a cascina (farmhouse) and is now used as the venue for a number of concerts and cultural events, especially in summer. Also of interest is the Church of Saint Lawrence, also built by the Humiliati in the 13th century.
