UC Riverside Soccer Stadium

The University of California, Riverside (UCR or UC Riverside) is a public land-grant research university in Riverside, California. It is one of the ten campuses of the University of California system. The main campus sits on 1,900 acres (769 ha) in a suburban district of Riverside with a branch campus of 20 acres (8 ha) in Palm Desert. In 1907, the predecessor to UCR was founded as the UC Citrus Experiment Station, Riverside which pioneered research in biological pest control and the use of growth regulators. UCR's undergraduate College of Letters and Science opened in 1954. The Regents of the University of California declared UCR a general campus of the system in 1959, and graduate students were admitted in 1961. To accommodate an enrollment of 21,000 students by 2015, more than $730 million has been invested in new construction projects since 1999. Preliminary accreditation of the UC Riverside School of Medicine was granted in October 2012 and the first class of 50 students was enrolled in August 2013. It is the first new research-based public medical school in 40 years. UCR is a member of the Association of American Universities. In 2000, UC Riverside was classified as an "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity." UCR's sports teams are known as the Highlanders and play in the Big West Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. Their nickname was inspired by the high altitude of the campus, which lies on the foothills of Box Springs Mountain. The UCR women's basketball team won back-to-back Big West championships in 2006 and 2007. In 2007, the men's baseball team won its first conference championship and advanced to the regionals for the second time since the university moved to Division I in 2001.

The UCR Citrus Variety Collection (CVC) is one of the most important collections of citrus diversity in the world. It is used for research, plant breeding, and educational extension activities on the UC Riverside campus in Riverside, California.

The UC Riverside Student Recreation Center is available to UCR students for physical fitness, sport activities and general recreational use. The Student Recreation Center Arena (SRC Arena) is located in the building. It is home to the UC Riverside Highlanders men's basketball, women's basketball and women's volleyball teams.

The Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering, or commonly known as Bourns Engineering or BCOE, is an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology-accredited College of Engineering located in Riverside, California on the campus of the University of California, Riverside. The Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering was established in 1989, and named in honor of Marlan Bourns, a B.S. physics graduate of the University of Michigan and Rosemary Bourns, founders of Bourns, Inc. BCOE is home to the world's largest indoor atmospheric chamber, an 8,000 square foot class 100/1,000 cleanroom, a 4,300 square foot mechanical engineering machine shop and a 13-ton 3 Tesla Siemens Prisma MRI machine and more. The college has over 300,000 square feet of lab and research space. Notable research centers include the Center for Environmental Research & Technology, Winston Chung Global Energy Center, Center for Research and Education in Cyber Security and Privacy, and the Center for Research in Intelligent Systems.

The Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Riverside offers credentials and MA and PhD programs in various fields of teacher education and educational administration. Significant research centers include the California Community College Collaborative, a professional development, leadership training and policy research institute for the community college system, and the Copernicus Project, dedicated to increasing the quality of science educators and education. Also notable is a center dedicated to researching and supporting education for autistic children.In 2007 the school encountered controversy due to its lack of a diverse faculty.

The main campus of the University of California, Riverside (UCR) is located within the city of Riverside in western Riverside County, three miles (5 km) east of downtown, and comprises 1,112 acres (4.50 km2) bisected by the Interstate 215/State Route 60 freeway. Nearly half of the total area is devoted to agricultural teaching and research fields, most of which are located west of the freeway.

Notable research centers include the Center for Bibliographical Studies and Research, the Center for Family Studies, the Ernesto Galarza Applied Research Center, and the Robert Presley Center for Crime & Justice Studies.

The University of California, Riverside (UCR), School of Medicine is the graduate medical school of the University of California, Riverside, acting as one of six University of California medical schools. It enrolled its first class in 2013, with the first class of 40 medical students receiving their degrees on June 9, 2017.The school is made up of the Division of Biomedical Sciences and the Division of Clinical Sciences. In addition to undergraduate medical education, the school sponsors and co-sponsors residencies and fellowships in several fields.

The Islamic Center of Riverside is a mosque in Riverside, California. Built in 1979, Friday services regularly attract over 1,000 worshipers.

The Riverside Sports Complex, in Riverside, California, is the home field of the University of California, Riverside baseball team. The stadium seats 2,500 and features a home team locker room built personally by Troy Percival, a UC Riverside alumnus.A statue of the UCR Bear in concrete just inside the entrance to the facility, was erected in 2007. The stadium also has a pair of hitting cages located underneath the grandstands.

The A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management (commonly known as AGSM), is a part of the UCR School of Business located at the University of California, Riverside. Current offerings include MBA, Ph.D., Master of Finance and Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAc) programs.
