Rancho Soquel

Soquel (; Ohlone: Sokel) is an unincorporated town and census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Cruz County, California, located on the northern coast of Monterey Bay. The population was 9,980 at the 2020 census.

New Brighton State Beach is a 95 acres (38 ha) beach park on Monterey Bay in Santa Cruz County, California, consisting of a beach and campgrounds. The park is located east of Santa Cruz in Capitola, on Park Avenue off of Highway 1. The park is adjacent to Seacliff State Beach, which is known for its fishing pier and sunk concrete freighter, The Palo Alto. The beach overlooks Soquel Cove and Monterey Bay.

Cabrillo College is a public community college in Aptos, California. It is named after the conquistador Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo and opened in 1959. Cabrillo College has an enrollment of about 9,700 students per term.

The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist was a historic chapel in Capitola, California from 1889 to 2009.

The Hihn Building, at 201 Monterey Ave. in Capitola, California, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It is built of local redwood and is vaguely Classical in style. It was deemed significant as "an excellent example of the style of architecture which was used by the Portuguese when they settled small farming and fishing villages and towns along the California coastline in the latter part of the 19th Century." It is Capitola's oldest commercial structure and is believed to have been built in 1883. It was part of an effort by Frederick A. Hihn to develop a camping resort named Camp Capitola.It was photographed by John Muir in 1972.

Soquel High School is a high school in Soquel, California, located on Old San Jose Road. It has 1,200 students and was established in 1962. The school is operated by the Santa Cruz City High School District. The school mascot is the Knights.

The Rispin Mansion is a historic mansion, on the National Register of Historic Places, located in Capitola, California. The building was constructed in 1921 by San Franciscan Henry Allen Rispin. It was built with four stories, 22 rooms, and over 7,100 square feet (660 m2) on the grounds of what was called "Camp Capitola". Described as being "cursed," Rispin Mansion was first used as a real-estate showroom, and then, at various times, as a residence, a nunnery, a SWAT practice ground, and a ghost hunting site.

Anna Jean Cummings Park is a 95 acres (38 ha) park located in unincorporated Santa Cruz County, at 461 Old San Jose Road, Soquel, California, that opened in the summer of 2001 on the former O'Neill Ranch. Its nickname is "Blue Ball Park" for the art installation of "Skyballs" by Steve Gillman and Katherine Keefer, a series of four sky-blue 8-foot diameter spheres that appear to roll down the coastal prairie terrace.The lower bench has a lawn, picnic pavilion, playground, and restrooms. The upper bench has natural turf baseball/softball diamonds and soccer fields, more restrooms, and a walking/jogging path that circumnavigates the playfields. The rest of the park is rare coastal prairie, grassland, and riparian habitat with a meandering trail network. Rare and endangered species have been observed in the park, according to the February 1995 O'Neill Ranch Master Plan Draft Environmental Impact Report. The park is named after Anna Jean Cummings, a former executive director of the Land Trust of Santa Cruz County.

Capitola is a small seaside town in Santa Cruz County, California. Capitola is located on the northern shores of Monterey Bay, on the Central Coast of California. The city had a population of 9,938 at the 2020 census. Capitola is a popular tourist destination, owing to its beaches and restaurants.

Camp Capitola also called the Superintendent Office, is a historical building in Capitola, California in Santa Cruz County. Camp Capitola building is a California Historical Landmark No. 860 listed on April 26, 1973. The Camp Capitola building is City of Capitola's oldest commercial building. From 1883 to 1919 the Camp Capitola building was the headquarters of F. A. Hihn's operations, called Camp Capitola. F. A. Hihn owned and ran the first seaside resort in the state of California, Camp Capitola.The grand opening of the 15 acre seaside resort was on July 4, 1874. The seaside resort was at the present site of Village neighborhood and Depot Hill neighborhood of Capitola. The Superintendent's Office Building was made local redwood and was used as the seaside resort headquarter until 1930. A historical marker was placed in 1973 by State Department of Parks & Recreation and the Capitola Historical Society.

Soquel Creek is a southward flowing 16 miles (26 km) creek that begins in the Santa Cruz Mountains in Santa Cruz County, California and enters Monterey Bay at Capitola Beach in Capitola, California.

Venetian Court is a residential seaside resort located in Capitola, California. Construction of Venetian Court, in the Mediterranean Revival, Spanish Colonial Revival, and Mission Revival architecture styles, began in 1924 and continued for several years. On April 2, 1987, Venetian Court was listed as site 87000574 on the National Register of Historic Places as one of the first condominium seaside developments in California, and is in a United States Historic District. The two rows of colorful units nearest to the beach, as shown in the picture below, are privately owned condos (many of which are available as vacation rentals by owner). The large brown building in the back row (nearest to the street) is now operated as the "Capitola Venetian Hotel".
