Glencarse railway station served the village of Glencarse, Perth and Kinross, Scotland from 1847 to 1956 on the Dundee and Perth Railway.

Glencarse () is a village in the Scottish council area of Perth and Kinross.The village is situated 4 miles (6 kilometres) east of Perth, lying alongside the A90 road. It was formerly served by Glencarse railway station on the Caledonian Railway. John Murray, a former Provost of St Mary's Cathedral, Glasgow was the incumbent of the Scottish Episcopal Church’s All Saints Church in the village from 1959 to 1970.

All Saints Church is an Episcopal church in the Diocese of Brechin, located in the Scottish village of Glencarse, Perth and Kinross. Still in use as a congregational church, the building is constructed in the half-timbered style, and on 9 June 1981 was listed as a category C listed building.

Pitfour Castle is an 18th-century country house situated on the southeast edge of the village of St Madoes in the Carse of Gowrie, Perthshire, Scotland. It is a Category A listed building. Pitfour Castle is a private residence and access to the grounds is not available to the public.

Cottown is a village in Perth and Kinross, Scotland, east of the village of St.Madoes and approximately 8 miles (13 kilometres) east of Perth. This area is in the Carse of Gowrie, and Cottown sits on a bank a rich alluvial soil to the north of the Firth of Tay between Perth and Dundee. It is the location of one of the largest concentrations of mudwall structures in Scotland, centred on the parish of Errol. The Old Schoolhouse in Cottown is thought to have been constructed between 1745 and 1770, the rubble plinth possibly being the remains of an earlier sandstone building destroyed by fire in 1766. The building is likely to have reverted to a dwelling by the mid 19th century. The Schoolhouse was abandoned in 1985 and quickly fell into a state of disrepair, having been vacant ever since. In recognition of its rarity and value, as an almost intact example of 18th century muclwall construction, the building was given a category W listing in 1991. The Old Schoolhouse is now owned by the National Trust of Scotland.

The River Tay (Scottish Gaelic: Tatha, IPA: [ˈt̪ʰa.ə]; probably from the conjectured Brythonic Tausa, possibly meaning 'silent one' or 'strong one' or, simply, 'flowing') is the longest river in Scotland and the seventh-longest in Great Britain. The Tay originates in western Scotland on the slopes of Ben Lui (Scottish Gaelic: Beinn Laoigh), then flows easterly across the Highlands, through Loch Dochart, Loch Iubhair and Loch Tay, then continues east through Strathtay (see Strath), in the centre of Scotland, then southeasterly through Perth, where it becomes tidal, to its mouth at the Firth of Tay, south of Dundee. It is the largest river in the United Kingdom by measured discharge. Its catchment is approximately 2,000 square miles (5,200 square kilometres), the Tweed's is 1,500 sq mi (3,900 km2) and the Spey's is 1,097 sq mi (2,840 km2). The river has given its name to Perth's Tay Street, which runs along its western banks for 830 yards (760 metres).

Inchyra (; Scottish Gaelic: An Innis Iarach "the west isle") is a hamlet in the Carse of Gowrie in Scotland. It lies on the northern bank of the River Tay near Perth and is notable particularly for a number of archaeological finds made in the immediate vicinity.

Leetown is a small community located at the western end of the Carse of Gowrie along the eastern seaboard of Scotland. It lies between the A90 road and the Firth of Tay.

The River Earn (Scottish Gaelic: Uisge Èireann) in Scotland leaves Loch Earn at St Fillans and runs east through Strathearn, then east and south, joining the River Tay near Abernethy. The Earn is about 74 kilometres (46 mi) long. It passes by Comrie, Crieff (where it is joined by the Pow of Inchaffray) and Bridge of Earn. The river is fast flowing, with many shoals, whilst the surrounding land is generally flat and is occasionally subject to flooding.Near to the River Earn lay the ancient Strageath Roman Camp. This camp was one of a series of camps used by the Romans to construct their invasion of the north; other notable camps in this chain are Ardoch, Stracathro, Battledykes, Raedykes and Normandykes.

The Roman Fort of Carpow was situated at the confluence of the rivers Tay and Earn in what is now Scotland.It was a large fortress with an area of thirty acres occupied by two legions at different times, Legio II Augusta and Legio VI Victrix, and thus of solid, permanent construction using stone, brick and tiles.The fort was occupied from the late second century AD until the early third century AD. The site of the fort has not been comprehensively excavated but it is believed to have served as a naval supply depot for Roman forces in the central lowlands. Its occupation also coincided with the campaigns of Septimius Severus in the area.However, its site on the southern side of the Tay estuary is incompatible with its use as a base for Severan offensive operations to the north and, along with other evidence, it is more likely that the fortress was built under Commodus in 185 to support his campaigns.It has been suggested that the Carpow fort was the place named as "Horrea Classis" or "Poreo Classis" in the Ravenna Cosmography.

Carpow () is a diffuse hamlet in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It is situated immediately to the east of the confluence of the River Tay and River Earn, 2 km north east of Abernethy.
