Plano ( PLAY-noh) is a city in the U.S. state of Texas. With a population of 285,494 at the 2020 census, it is the ninth most-populous city in Texas, and, respectively, the 72nd most populous city in the United States. Plano is located north of Dallas and within Collin County. It is the largest of the county. Plano is also one of the principal cities of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Plano's economy is a large part of Dallas' economy, home to many large companies such as Frito Lay, JCPenney, Pizza Hut, and other major distributors. Plano has also been named as both one of the fastest growing cities and one of the best places to live in the country.

Downtown Plano station is a DART Light Rail station in Plano, Texas. It is located at the intersection of 15th Street and Avenue J and serves the Red Line and Orange Line. It opened on December 9, 2002. It is located at the historic Plano Station, which was once served by the first-generation interurban Texas Electric Railway, and now serves as the Interurban Railway Museum.

Plano Station, Texas Electric Railway, now known as the Interurban Railway Museum, is a historic train station at 901 E 15th Street in Plano, Texas. It is still served by the Downtown Plano station of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit light rail, which reutilized the right of way of the interurban. The Mission Revival/Spanish Revival style station was completed in 1908 at the opening of the Texas Electric Railway. The railway operated from 1908 to 1948. The station stood vacant until the City of Plano renovated it into the Interurban Railway Museum in 1990. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 10, 2005. The museum also displays Car 360, a restored railcar of the Texas Electric Railway, on the grounds.

12th Street station is a future DART Light Rail and commuter rail station along the Red Line, Orange Line (Rush Hour only) and the Silver Line in Plano, Texas. The station has two levels, with the ground-level at 12th Street & K Avenue serving the Silver Line and the elevated level (two blocks west at 1000 12th Street) serving the Red Line and the Orange Line. The City of Plano approved the purchase of a piece of land in February 2015 in anticipation of its construction.The two platforms will be connected by a sidewalk about 500 feet (150 m) long. The station's bus bays and parking lots will be next to the Silver Line platform: the bus bays and a small parking lot on its north side and a larger parking lot on its south side.The station is scheduled to open with the completion of the Silver Line in late 2025 to mid-2026.

T. H. Williams High School is a secondary school in Plano, Texas (USA) serving grades nine and ten. It is part of the Plano Independent School District. In Plano ISD, high school freshmen and sophomores attend one of six high schools. Juniors and seniors attend "senior high schools". Bowman and Otto middle schools feed into Williams. Williams High School feeds into Plano East Senior High School.

Parker Road station is a DART Light Rail station in Plano, Texas. It is located at the intersection of Park Boulevard and Archerwood Street near US 75 (Central Expressway). It opened December 9, 2002, and is the northern terminus of the Red Line. It was originally called East Plano Transit Center before the light rail station opened up. The Orange Line terminates some trains at Parker Road during peak hours for direct service to DFW Airport station.

Collin Creek Mall was a two-level, enclosed regional mall in Plano, Texas opened in 1981 and closed for redevelopment in 2019. It was located near the intersection of US 75 (Central Expressway) and President George Bush Turnpike. Since September 2019, the mall has been partially demolished with the central section planned to become part of a $1 billion mixed-use development, designed by Centurion American Development Group.

CityLine/Bush station (formerly Bush Turnpike station) is a DART Light Rail station in Richardson, Texas. It is located on the President George Bush Turnpike near US 75 (Central Expressway). It opened on December 9, 2002 as a station on the Red Line, serving the area around the former Collin Creek Mall site. The Orange Line was added in 2010. The station is planned to be an intersection between those lines and the future Silver Line commuter rail.In January 2016, DART announced that the station would be renamed as CityLine/Bush station on March 14 as part of the service changes, due to the enlargement of the CityLine development zone.

Plano ISD Academy High School, commonly referred to as Academy High School, is a STEAM, interdisciplinary and project-based learning high school. The school serves students from grades 9-12. This school is not a regular secondary school because this school uses a selection process to draw eighth graders from various middle schools in Plano ISD. The school is an alternative to the regular high school experience by offering collaborative team projects, more STEAM classes and the ability to attend classes without structured class periods. This school is one of the three Academy Programs in Plano ISD. The others are the Plano ISD Health Sciences Academy and The IB World School at Plano East.

Shiloh Road station is a future station located in Plano, Texas on the under-construction Dallas Area Rapid Transit Silver Line. It is located near the Southwest corner of 14th Street and Shiloh Road. The City of Plano bought land for the future station in 2012 in anticipation of establishing rail service. The line is under construction and is scheduled to open in late 2025 to mid-2026. It will be the eastern terminal for the commuter line, until the towns of Murphy, Texas and Wylie, Texas become member cities and allow for expansion.
