The Vines is a suburb of Perth in the Swan Valley region of Western Australia, developed as a country club estate in 1987. The suburb straddles the west side of the Ellen Brook. Homes consist of mostly large lots of 1⁄4–1 acre (0.10–0.40 ha) situated around the golf courses. The Vines was approved as a suburb name in 1996.The Vines is home to a four-star resort and country club that encompasses two hotels: the Novotel Vines and the Sebel Swan Valley. The resort hosts two 18-hole golf courses, The Lakes course and Ellenbrook course, which both traverse throughout the suburb; both are world class championship courses.The Vines Resort and Country Club has been host to international golf tournaments: the Heineken Classic 1993–2001, Johnnie Walker Classic 2006 and 2009, and the Lexus Cup 2007.There are no shops, schools or facilities in The Vines; the suburb relies on neighbouring Ellenbrook and Aveley for these services.

The All Saints Church in Henley Brook is the oldest church in Western Australia. It was built by Richard Edwards between 1838 and 1840, with the first service taking place on 10 January 1841. The site is on a small hill overlooking the Swan River and near the conjunction of the Swan and Ellen Brook. This site was where Captain James Stirling camped during his 1827 exploration of the area.

Red Hill is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It has Toodyay Road pass through it on the way up the Darling Scarp. It is in the City of Swan local government area. At the 2011 Australian Census the suburb recorded a population of 98.The suburb includes a regional landfill, Red Hill Waste Management Facility, which is managed by the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council.

The County of Perth was one of the 26 counties of Western Australia that were designated in 1829. It contained the city of Perth, with its south-eastern corner near Mount Dale. It was part of the Lands administrative divisions of Western Australia. Today, land titles in the area are associated with the Swan, Canning or Cockburn Sound land districts.

Aveley is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, east of Ellenbrook and south of The Vines. In 1897 George Hardey Barrett Lennard, grandson of Edward Pomeroy Barrett-Lennard, purchased a property in the area of which is now Aveley, naming it "Belhus" after his family's estate in Belhus, Essex, England. The name "Aveley", deriving from the eponymous town where the estate was located, was approved as a suburb name on 6 September 2006, before which the area was part of Ellenbrook. It is bordered by Gnangara Road and Lake Yakine to the south, a small part of West Swan Road, the Ellen Brook and Chateau Place to the east, The Broadway, Doig Road, and Cashman Avenue to the north, and Henley Brook Avenue to the west. The suburb is accessible from Henley Brook Avenue, The Promenade, Gnangara Road, and West Swan Road (via Millhouse Road). Schools in this suburb include Aveley Primary School, Aveley North Primary School, and Swan Valley Anglican Community School. Aveley Secondary College is located just north of Aveley, in Ellenbrook.
