Lake Pocotopaug is an unincorporated village and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of East Hampton in Middlesex County, Connecticut, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 4,901, up from 3,436 in 2010.It is named for the large local lake, which for years has been a popular resort area. The lake is surrounded by numerous homes. Most are year-round residences, although some summer cottages dot the shore. It is especially noted for two islands in its center, separated by a narrow, shallow strait (both of which have cabins).

Glastonbury ( GLAS-tən-bair-ee) is a town in Hartford County, Connecticut, United States, formally founded in 1693 and first settled in 1636. It was named after Glastonbury in Somerset, England. Glastonbury is on the banks of the Connecticut River, 7 miles (11 km) southeast of Hartford. The town is part of the Capitol Planning Region. The town center is defined by the U.S. Census Bureau as a census-designated place (CDP). The population was 35,159 at the 2020 census.

The Daniel and Mary Lee House is a historic house on Pepperidge Road in Portland, Connecticut. Built about 1774, it is a well-preserved example of rural vernacular colonial-era residential architecture, with later Federal period alterations. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Marlborough is a town in Hartford County, Connecticut, United States. It contains the census-designated place (CDP) of Terramuggus. The town is part of the Capitol Planning Region. The town's population was 6,133 at the 2020 census. Marlborough is a suburban and rural community. The local high school is RHAM High School. In 2013, Marlborough ranked third (of 24) in Connecticut Magazine's biannual ranking of Connecticut small towns. Educationally, RHAM High School, which serves Marlborough, Hebron, and Andover students, is one of the top-ranked regional high schools in the state on the SAT in 2017, and 11th highest-performing school in the state on the test. The town is home to Elmer Theines-Mary Hall elementary school which serves Pre-K through 6th grade. The school scores above state average on standardized testing and student progress.

The Captain Enoch Lord House, also known as Red House, is a historic house at 17 Tantummaheag Road in Old Lyme, Connecticut. Built about 1748, the house is significant both for its long historic association with the colonial Lord family, who were influential participants in the founding of both the Connecticut Colony and the Saybrook Colony, and for its transformation in the late 19th century into a summer estate. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

The Welles-Shipman-Ward House is a historic house museum at 972 Main Street in South Glastonbury, Connecticut. Built in 1755, it is a well-preserved example of Georgian architecture, with the largest period fireplace in Connecticut. The name comes from the prominent local families that owned it. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. It is now maintained by the Historical Society of Glastonbury.

The South Glastonbury Historic District is a historic district in Glastonbury, Connecticut. It encompasses the historic village center of South Glastonbury, which was first settled in the 17th century. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, and enlarged in 2009 to include properties further along Main Street as far as Chestnut Hill Road. Locals refer to it as Nayaug.

The John Hollister House is a historic house at 14 Tryon Street in the South Glastonbury village of Glastonbury, Connecticut. Built about 1675, it is the town's oldest surviving colonial structure, built by one of its early settlers. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

East Hampton is a census-designated place (CDP) comprising the primary village and adjacent residential and rural land in the town of East Hampton, Middlesex County, Connecticut, United States. It is in the central and eastern portions of the town, bordered to the north by the East Hampton community of Lake Pocotopaug and to the east by the town of Colchester in New London County and the town of Marlborough in Hartford County. As of the 2020 census, the East Hampton CDP had a population of 2,960, out of 12,717 in the entire town of East Hampton.

Settled in the 18th century, the community flourished in the 19th century as a center of bell making, with numerous firms engaged in the trade. The town center is reflective of this 19th-century success, with a broad diversity of period architecture, as well as surviving elements of the bellmaking industry. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Named for James Baker Williams, founder of JB Williams Soap Company, J. B. Williams Park is located on Neipsic Road in Glastonbury, Connecticut, just off Route 2. It is a popular park for hiking, softball, fishing, ice-skating, and cross-country skiing.

The Middle Haddam Historic District is a historic district in the town of East Hampton, Connecticut. It encompasses the village center of Middle Haddam, a riverfront community founded in the 17th century on the east bank of the Connecticut River. It was an important port on the river between about 1730 and 1880. Its layout and architecture are reflective of this history, and by the geographic constraints of the local terrain. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
