In the early hours of 4 November 2019, Chow Tsz-lok, a 22-year-old student of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology fell from the third floor inside a car park in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong, in the context of anti-government protests in the territory. Chow, who was clad in black clothing that had become an unofficial uniform for protesters, had been wandering alone inside the building in the moments preceding the fall. The car park was close to an area of confrontation between protesters and police. Chow sustained multiple injuries, including a severe brain injury as a result of his fall. He died due to a cardiac arrest [1] four days later. The death stirred great emotions as many blamed the police and the government, while the police strenuously denied responsibility for his death. The government failed to conduct an independent investigation, and this triggered an escalation of violence of the ongoing protests.The Coroner's inquest found no evidence to suggest that Chow had taken part in the protest at the time. As the jury was unable to make a determination about the cause of death, the coroner pronounced an open verdict.

Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground (Chinese: 將軍澳運動場), located in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong, is a multi-purpose sports ground and home of Hong Kong Premier League club Eastern. It was the main venue for track and field events for the 2009 Hong Kong Games, 2009 East Asian Games and 2011 Hong Kong Games. Occupying an area of about 5.9 hectares, it comprises a main sports ground, a warm-up secondary sports ground, and other facilities for holding large-scale international competitions. Its track and field facilities conform to International Association of Athletics Federations standards. It is located adjacent to the Hong Kong Velodrome.

Hong Kong Velodrome is a velodrome in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong. It has a 250-metre cycling track and spectator facilities for 3,000 people. It opened on 30 December 2013 next to the Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground.

Sheung Tak Estate (Chinese: 尚德邨) is a public housing estate in Tseung Kwan O, New Territories, Hong Kong, near Hong Kong Velodrome and Haven of Hope Hospital. It is the sixth public housing estate in Tseung Kwan O and comprises 9 blocks of Harmony I and Small Household Block styles built in 1998 and 2002 respectively. Kwong Ming Court (廣明苑), Po Ming Court (寶明苑) and Tong Ming Court (唐明苑) are Home Ownership Scheme housing courts in Tseung Kwan O near Sheung Tak Estate, built between 1998 and 1999.

Tseung Kwan O (Chinese: 將軍澳; Cantonese Yale: Jēunggwān'ou; pronounced: [tsœːŋ˥kʷɐn˥.ou˧]) is a station on the MTR Tseung Kwan O line located at the town centre of the Tseung Kwan O New Town in the New Territories of Hong Kong. The previous station is Tiu Keng Leng and the line splits after this station to LOHAS Park and Hang Hau. The entrances to the station are on Tong Chun Street, Popcorn Mall and Tong Yin Street. A public transport interchange is located outside the station. The architecture firm Aedas designed the station.

Bauhinia Garden (Chinese: 寶盈花園) is a Home Ownership Scheme and Private Sector Participation Scheme court in Tseung Kwan O, New Territories, Hong Kong near Tseung Kwan O Plaza, The Grandiose and MTR Tseung Kwan O station. It was jointly developed by the Hong Kong Housing Authority and Shui On Group, and has a total of eight blocks built on reclaimed land and was completed in 2001.

Park Central (Chinese: 將軍澳中心) is a private housing estate and shopping mall in Tseung Kwan O, New Territories, Hong Kong, located near MTR Tseung Kwan O station. It consists of 12 residential blocks in two phases with a total of 4,152 units, and a 350,000-square-foot (33,000 m2) shopping mall, the largest one in Tseung Kwan O. It was jointly developed in 2002, 2003 and 2005 by the consortium of property developers, including Sun Hung Kai Properties, Henderson Land Development, Chinachem Group, MTR Corporation and Nan Fung Group.

On Ning Garden (Chinese: 安寧花園) is a Home Ownership Scheme and Private Sector Participation Scheme court in Hang Hau, Tseung Kwan O, New Territories, Hong Kong near MTR Hang Hau station. It was jointly developed by the Hong Kong Housing Authority and Hening Investment, and has a total of six blocks built on reclaimed land and was completed in 1991.

Hang Hau (Chinese: 坑口) is an MTR station of Tseung Kwan O line, located at Pui Shing Road, Hang Hau, Tseung Kwan O, in the New Territories of Hong Kong. It was the easternmost station in the MTR railway system, until LOHAS Park station opened on 26 July 2009. It was named after Hang Hau Village, which is about a 10-minute walk from the station. Residence Oasis, a private residential estate, and its accompanied shopping centre, the Lane, are situated above the station.

Oscar by the Sea is a riverside private housing residences located at 8 Pung Loi Road, Pak Shing Kok, Clear Water Bay, New Territories, Hong Kong. The residence is jointly developed by Sun Hung Kai Properties and Hong Kong Oxygen. It was designed by MCAA Limited. The property is divided into 7 buildings with 40 to 59 floors and a total of 1959 units. The estate was opened for sale in 2001 on 27 July 2001 (Phase 1), 1 June 2002 (Phase 2). The management company is Hong Yip Service Co. Ltd. under Sun Hung Kai Properties. Oscar by the Sea is the only private housing estate in Tseung Kwan O that is not built on reclaimed land.

Residence Oasis (Chinese: 蔚藍灣畔) is a private housing estate on the reclaimed land of Hang Hau, Tseung Kwan O, New Territories, Hong Kong, located near MTR Hang Hau station. It was jointly developed by MTR Corporation, Sino Land and Kerry Properties in 2005. It consists of six high-rise buildings (Tower 1-3, 5-7) and a shopping arcade, The Lane (Chinese: 連理街).
