The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital

Nationwide Children's Hospital (formerly Columbus Children's Hospital) is a nationally ranked pediatric acute care teaching hospital located in the Southern Orchards neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The hospital has 673 pediatric beds and is affiliated with the Ohio State University College of Medicine. The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties to infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–21 throughout Ohio and surrounding regions. Nationwide Children's Hospital also sometimes treats adults that require pediatric care. Nationwide Children's Hospital also features an ACS designated Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, 1 of 4 in the state. The hospital has affiliations with the nearby Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Nationwide Children's Hospital is located on its own campus and has more than 1,379 medical staff members and over 11,909 total employees.In recent years, the hospital has been ranked as one of America's Best Children's Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report and in 2020, the hospital ranked as the 7th best overall children's hospital in the United States. The hospital has also been the recipient of numerous other awards.

The Neville Mansion is a historic house in the Olde Towne East neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. Portions of the house may have been built in the early 19th century, though the majority was complete by the mid-1850s. It was built for M.L. Neville, who purchased the property in 1855. Two years later, it became the Ohio Asylum for the Education of Idiotic and Imbecile Youth (known today as the Columbus Developmental Center), which moved out to its current campus in 1868. The mansion then held the Hannah Neil Mission and Home of the Friendless for over a century, from 1868 to 1977. The mission served as an orphanage, homeless shelter, and school for various types of disadvantaged residents throughout its history. After Neil's organization moved out, the mansion was renovated for office use. In 1983, a marker was placed by the house detailing the Neil Mission's historical importance to the community. The building was deemed eligible for the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Olde Towne East is a neighborhood located in the historical Near East Side of Columbus, Ohio and is one of Columbus' oldest neighborhoods. The area has over 1,000 homes, some as old as the 1830s, and more than 50 architectural styles as a result of its history. These homes were built by many of the famous individuals of Columbus including industrialists, lawyers, judges, teachers, architects, mayors, governors, and legislators, many of whom shaped the city.

Columbus Public Health is the health department of Columbus, Ohio. The department is accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board. The department dates to 1833, when the city's mayor appointed five citizens to help with its cholera outbreak. It became a permanent body to activate whenever health emergencies arose.Columbus Public Health is headquartered at 240 Parsons Avenue, a large building completed in 1874 for the Ohio Asylum for the Blind. The building and its campus were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, and as part of the Columbus Near East Side District in 1978.

Schumacher Place is a neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio. It is bordered on the north by East Livingston Avenue, the east by Parsons Avenue, the south by East Whittier Street, and the west by Lathrop Street, Brust Street, South Grant Avenue, and Jaeger Street.The neighborhood borders German Village, an upscale neighborhood to the west. Schumacher Place is similar, with century-old brick houses and brick streets. The neighborhood is however more affordable and has fewer construction and renovation restrictions. The neighborhood is also known for its car museum, the Wagner-Hagans Auto Museum. The museum, a small privately owned organization, offers free admission by appointment. It holds the collections of Steve Wagner (primarily unusual cars) and Mark Hagans (primarily cars of the 1930s).Schumacher Place is named for a family that operated a dairy company there in the 1800s, in the southeast corner of the neighborhood.

Southern Orchards is an established neighborhood on the near south side of Columbus, Ohio. It is located immediately southeast of downtown and is the 23rd most walkable neighborhood in Columbus with 3,538 residents. The neighborhood is the target of revitalization and beautification largely due to its anchor institution Nationwide Children's Hospital and a renewed interest in urban living in the city's core. Since 2008, more than 90 properties have been improved through the hospital’s Healthy Homes program and continued revitalization is occurring along the major streets of Livingston and Parsons Avenues as the city moves to reconnect downtown to its surrounding neighborhoods.

Beck Street School is a school building in the Schumacher Place neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The building was constructed in 1884 and was designed by prolific school architect David Riebel. The school was recognized as one of Columbus's historically significant schools, in a 2002 report by the Columbus Landmarks Foundation.

Engine House No. 11, also known as the Main Street Engine House, is a former Columbus Fire Department station in the Olde Towne East neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The building was constructed from 1896 to 1897, designed in the Romanesque Revival style. The station was decommissioned in 1970.

The Kelton House Museum and Garden is a Greek Revival and Italianate mansion in the Discovery District of Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The museum was established by the Junior League of Columbus to promote an understanding of daily life, customs, and decorative arts in 19th-century Columbus and to educate visitors about the Underground Railroad.

The East Town Street Historic District is a historic district in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 and the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1982; the district boundaries differ between the two entries.The Snowden-Gray House, a High Victorian-style two-and-a-half-story mansion with a cupola, built in 1852, is salient in the district. It was the Kappa Kappa Gamma National Headquarters from 1952 to 2018. It housed the Heritage Museum, displaying the history of the organization. The building now serves as an event space.The Kelton House Museum and Garden is a historic house museum in the district.

The Snowden-Gray House is a historic house in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The house contributes to the East Town Street Historic District, on the National Register of Historic Places and Columbus Register of Historic Properties. Built as a private home around 1852, the building later served several purposes, including as the governor's mansion for Ohio's governor during the American Civil War. From 1952 to 2018, it was the headquarters of the sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma. Beginning in 2018, a developer operated a rental and events space there for several years, until 2021.

Engine House No. 12 is a former fire station in the Olde Towne East neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. Today it primarily houses Gemüt Biergarten, a German restaurant, brewery, and biergarten, with its second story used for offices. It is a contributing property to the Columbus Near East Side District, a national historic district established in 1978. The building was constructed in 1896 as a Columbus Fire Department station. It became vacant following several decades' use, and subsequently housed the city's Arts and Crafts Center, from 1952 to 1978. The building lay vacant or under renovation for years while several proposals were fielded for it. It finally reopened in 1988 as an event venue and concert space known as the Columbus Music Hall. The music hall operated until 2008, and the building underwent another period of vacancy until another renovation around 2017. Gemüt Biergarten opened in the engine house building in 2019.
