The county was created on December 20, 1851, by an act of the Georgia General Assembly and named after James K. Rockmart Woman's Club is a historic building in Rockmart, Georgia. The club was organized in 1906 and became an affiliate of the Georgia Federation of Women's Clubs in 1913. In 1922, the club moved into the eponymous building designed by W. Roy Reece. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places In 1995. It is located on North Marble Street and is part of the Cedartown Waterworks-Woman's Building-Big Spring Park Historic District.

Rockmart is a town in Polk County, Georgia, United States. Its population was 4,732 at the 2020 census. It developed as a railroad depot town when the Southern Railway built a station in the area. The community was incorporated in 1872, and was named from abundant deposits of slate in the area. The Rockmart Downtown Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Seaborn Jones Memorial Park, formerly known as Wayside Park, was renamed in 2002 after Seaborn Jones because of his generosity and other significant contributions that he made to the city. The park sits in the middle of the Historical Downtown district of the City of Rockmart, Georgia along the banks of the Euharlee Creek. The name Euharlee comes from the Cherokee or Creek Indians and means "she laughs as she runs."

The Haralson County Courthouse, located on Courthouse Square in Buchanan, Georgia, is a historic Queen Anne style building built in 1891–92. It was designed by Alexander C. Bruce and Thomas H. Morgan, Bruce & Morgan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The courthouse served as the county courthouse from 1892 to 1972; a modern courthouse less than a mile away has since replaced it. The old courthouse building currently serves as a museum and the location of the Haralson County Historical Society.
