Station Square

The Wabash Bridge was a railroad bridge across the Monongahela River at Pittsburgh. It was constructed between 1902 and 1904 by railroad magnate George J. Gould for his Wabash Pittsburgh Terminal Railway.The Wabash Bridge carried rail traffic from the elaborate Wabash Terminal in downtown Pittsburgh to the Wabash Tunnel in Mt. Washington. The rail cars were from the Wabash-Pittsburg Terminal Railroad, an ill-fated venture by George Jay Gould to compete with the Pennsylvania Railroad in Pittsburgh. After less than half a century, the Wabash was considered a “hard luck” bridge, haunted by its history, and an eyesore. In 1946, a fire destroyed the terminal. The bridge had become a useless hulk, and was dismantled two years later. Some of its steel was melted down for use in the Dravosburg Bridge, which was being built in 1948.

Highmark Stadium is a 5,000-seat soccer-specific stadium in Pittsburgh's Station Square which is home to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC of the USL Championship. The stadium was also home to the Pittsburgh Rebellion women's football team for 2017. Three local colleges use the stadium for soccer, lacrosse and rugby, and six different local high schools will use the field for soccer and lacrosse. The $10.2 million project began with the demolishing and excavating of the former Trib Total Media Amphitheatre, building foundations for the scoreboard, light poles and grading foundations for the grandstands as well as the installation of underground utilities. The field surface is FIFA 2-star certified artificial turf, the highest rating that an artificial surface can achieve, one of only six fields in the country to earn that rating. Other fields to earn this rating in the United States include: Providence Park, CenturyLink Field, and Gillette Stadium, all of which house Major League Soccer franchises.On August 1, 2015, the supporters' section was renamed the Paul Child Stand in honor of Pittsburgh soccer legend Paul Child. About Highmark Stadium, Benjamin Zand of the BBC once said it is "[...]probably the most beautiful stadium I've ever seen." Highmark Stadium is notable for its picturesque albeit unusual layout, with the Monongahela River in close proximity to the field. As a result, during daytime broadcasts of Riverhound matches, the river serves as a backdrop for the action on the field.

The Mount Washington Branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh located at 315 Grandview Avenue in the Mount Washington neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built in 1900. It was designed by the architectural firm Alden & Harlow, and it was added to the List of City of Pittsburgh historic designations on July 28, 2004 and the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 1989.The branch re-opened in 2021 following extensive renovations and expansion.

Bradford School was a private for-profit college in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Bradford awarded both diplomas and specialized associate degrees. After 50 years of operations, Bradford School announced that it would no longer enroll new students as of June 2018 at its Pittsburgh location due to declining enrollment and changes to the area that impacted operations. Career Services for graduates and alumni ceased April 30, 2019.

The Monongahela Incline is a funicular located near the Smithfield Street Bridge in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Designed and built by Prussian-born engineer John Endres in 1870, it is the oldest continuously operating funicular in the United States. It is one of two surviving inclines in Pittsburgh (the other is the nearby Duquesne Incline) from the original 17 passenger-carrying inclines built there starting in the late 19th century. Its lower station is across the street from what is now the Station Square shopping complex. It is easily accessible from the light rail system at the Station Square station. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. In 1977 both inclines were designated as Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmarks by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

The Monongahela Freight Incline was a funicular railway that scaled Mount Washington in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. Designed by Samuel Diescher and John Endres, both immigrants from Europe, the incline was built beside the smaller, original Monongahela Incline. It opened in 1884. The incline cost $125,000 to build. It had a unique 10 ft (3,048 mm) broad gauge that would allow vehicles, as well as walk-on passengers, to ascend and descend the hill. The cars were hoisted by a pair of Robinson & Rea engines. The incline ran until 1935.The older passenger incline, built in 1870, is one of two inclines still serving South Side Pittsburgh today, out of a total of 17 built in the nineteenth century. Passengers can see concrete pylons remaining from the freight incline during the descent.

The Trib Total Media Amphitheatre was an outdoor music pavilion at Station Square in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The venue had a seating capacity of 5,000 people. In January 2007 it was announced that the amphitheatre would change its name to "The Amphitheatre at Sandcastle" and move to West Homestead, Pennsylvania.The amphitheatre closed in 2006 and remained vacant until reopening May 2009. The venue ultimately closed in January 2012 and was demolished in April 2012. The Highmark Stadium was built on the grounds of the former amphitheatre.

The Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad Station, now Landry's, Inc.'s the Grand Concourse restaurant in Station Square Plaza in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a building constructed in 1898. Into the 1960s, the station was the depot for the passenger rail operations of the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad and the Pittsburgh depot from 1934 for the many trains of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad from Baltimore, Washington, Chicago, Detroit, and St. Louis. In 1934, the B&O obtained trackage rights on the P&LE from New Castle Junction to McKeesport and, until the discontinuance of its passenger service, used the P&LE station to reduce the amount of heavy-curvature trackage required to reach the original B&O station on the opposite side of the Monongahela River.The Pittsburgh Station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

The Monongahela Wharf was the key wharf of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States, on the Monongahela River. It was in use from the late 19th century until the dam was built in the Ohio river, causing it to be underwater. It was used by steamboats/steamers, tugboats, riverboats, and the Gateway Clipper Fleet.

11 Stanwix Street, formerly known as Westinghouse Tower, is one of the major distinctive and recognizable features of Downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. The tower was originally built and named for the Westinghouse Corporation; in 1999 that company went through a restructuring and moved its headquarters to its longtime research park in the suburb of Monroeville, before expansions in their operations necessitated a move to a larger suburban complex in Cranberry Township. As of June 2009, the building tenants are IBM, the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, the advertising firm Brunner, and the local headquarters of KeyCorp. 11 Stanwix Street was completed on November 24, 1969, and has 23 floors. It rises 355 feet (108 meters) above Downtown Pittsburgh and is located along the Monongahela River. A ten-story building that once served as the city's main post was previously located on this site.

Grace Anglican Church is an Anglican church in the Mount Washington neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Built in 1926, the Gothic Revival church has been listed since 1971 by the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation. The first Anglican church building on this site was erected in 1852.The congregation holds services in the Anglo-Catholic tradition and is a member of the Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh in the Anglican Church in North America.

The United Steelworkers Building, originally named the IBM Building and also known as the I.W. Abel Building or Five Gateway Center, is a highrise office building in Downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was built by the Equitable Life Assurance Society in 1961–64 as part of the Gateway Center project which redeveloped a large portion of the area known as the Point. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a contributing property in the Pittsburgh Renaissance Historic District and has been designated as a Pittsburgh landmark by the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation.The building was designed by Curtis and Davis, a New Orleans-based architecture firm, with structural engineers Worthington, Skilling, Helle & Jackson. The design of the building, featuring a load-bearing steel diagrid exoskeleton, was highly unusual at the time and helped pioneer the use of diagrids and framed tube construction.
