On May 4, 2008, Rachel Lynn Carlock and her boyfriend Donny Love Sr. placed a backpack containing three pipe bombs at the front door. The bombs went off without injuring anyone and only shattering the doors to the courthouse.A proposed annex grew to become an additional federal court building, the James M. Carter and Judith N. Pantoja Park is a public park located in the Marina District of Downtown San Diego, California. Originally built in 1850, it is the oldest park in the city of San Diego. The park is named for Don Juan Pantoja y Arriola, a Spanish navigator who drew the first map of San Diego Bay in 1782. In the park stands a statue of Benito Juarez, a gift from the Mexican government in 1981. Located on G Street near Columbia Street, Pantoja Park is a small oasis of open greenery in quickly redeveloping Downtown San Diego.Pantoja Park features a large grassy area and multiple large mature trees. The park has several towering old fig trees, shrubs and flowers, benches, walking paths, and a historic Natal Plum planted in the middle of the park. Two years after the formation of San Diego's Historical Resources Board, Pantoja Park was registered as the seventh San Diego Historic Landmark in 1969.

It is the western terminus of the San Diego Trolley's Orange Line and is located between the Hall of Justice and San Diego Central Courthouse in Downtown San Diego, on C Street between State and Union streets. The station opened on April 29, 2018, after nearly a year of construction.

This station opened June 30, 1990 as part of the Orange Line's (then called the East Line) Bayside Extension.Seaport Village is where the Green and the Silver lines split. The Silver Line turns east towards America Plaza as part of its clockwise circular route around Downtown San Diego, while the Green Line moves north towards Santa Fe Depot on its route through Old Town Transit Center to east county and Santee. The station was closed from July 9 through October 8, 2012 to undergo renovations as part of the Trolley Renewal Project.On September 2, 2012, service to this station by the Orange Line was replaced by the Green Line as part of a system redesign.
