New Energy Business School

The Kapteyn Astronomical Institute is the department of astronomy of the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. The institute is named after its founder, Jacobus Cornelius Kapteyn, who lived from 1851 to 1922. Jacobus Kapteyn was appointed professor of astronomy and theoretical mechanics in 1878 at a time when no astronomical tradition, let alone an observatory, existed in Groningen. Kapteyn's first "Astronomical Laboratory" was opened in 1896. In 1913, after various relocations, the laboratory moved to the Broerstraat, near the Academiegebouw in the center of the city. In 1970, the institute relocated to a new building on the campus site to the north of the city. Since 1983, the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute has been located at its present position in the Zernike building, where it shares a building with the Low Energy Astrophysics division of SRON. The research pursued by the institute's astronomers includes asteroids, planetary formation, stars, galaxies and cosmology. From 1965 until 1995, an observatory —also named after Kapteyn— (Dutch: Kapteyn Sterrenwacht) was operated near the town of Roden, some 20 km Southwest of Groningen. The buildings still exist, but are no longer in use as an observatory, nor as an astronomical workshop.

The Stratingh Institute for Chemistry is a research institute of the Faculty of Science and Engineering of the University of Groningen (The Netherlands). It is named after Sibrandus Stratingh, who is known for being the inventor of the first battery powered electric car. As of 2020, about 150 people (from over 30 nationalities) are employed within the Stratingh Institute for Chemistry. The staff members include Ben Feringa, who won the 2016 Nobel Prize in Chemistry "for the design and synthesis of molecular machines", Nathalie Katsonis and Sijbren Otto. The institute is currently located on the Zernike Campus in Groningen, in the Feringa Building and Linnaeusborg.

The International Business School Groningen is the business school of the Hanze University Groningen in Groningen, Netherlands. The International Business and Management Studies (IBMS) Programme of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen, founded in 1988, is the one of the oldest International Business Schools in the Netherlands. Approximately 60% of IBMS' students come from outside the Netherlands and over 40 nationalities are represented. Classes are taught in English or German by a multinational group of staff members with diverse international backgrounds. International Business and Management Studies graduates obtain an internationally recognized Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

The School of Facility Management Groningen belongs to the Hanze University Groningen in Groningen, Netherlands and offers a BBA degree programme in International Facility Management. Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen (Hanze UAS, Dutch: Hanzehogeschool Groningen) is the largest technical & vocational university in the northern Netherlands and is located in Groningen. Hanze UAS offers various Bachelor and Master programmes in Dutch, English, and German, and works closely with international partner institutes. The school counts approximately 28,000 students and 3,200 employees. About, 8,1% of students are international.

Groningen Noord (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌɣroːnɪŋə ˈnoːrt]; abbreviation: Gnn) is a railway station located Groningen, Netherlands. The station was opened on 15 June 1884 and is located on the Groningen–Delfzijl railway. The train services are operated by Arriva.

Noorderplantsoen is an urban public park in the city of Groningen in the Netherlands, situated slightly north of the city center. Its name is Dutch for northern public garden.

Harssens is a former town located in Groningen, Netherlands. It was already established in the 14th century with a coat of arms of a blue 'griffioen' (winged, lanky, standing lion figure). In 1604 when Warmolus Hilbrandus addressed Kaiser Rudolf II of the Holy Roman Empire the Kaiser made Hildbrandus lord of the estate and recognized the coat of arms. By 1742 the Hilbrandus manor and the church in Harssens were dismantled. The rights to the coat of arms remained and when Adorp was established as a township in 1809 the winged lion of Harssens had a place of honour in the town crest. Harssens is no longer a town but there are plans to rebuild the estate or Harssensborg as a tourist attraction.

The Nederlands Stripmuseum (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈneːdərlɑnts ˈstrɪpmyˌzeːjʏm]; "Netherlands Comic Strip Museum") is a museum dedicated to Dutch language comic strips, with emphasis on native comic creations, and located in the city of Groningen in the Netherlands.

Dorkwerd is a small village in Groningen, the Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Groningen, about 4 km northwest of the city center. Recent construction of new residential areas have brought the city to less than 500 meters from the village of Dorkwerd, and the postal authorities have placed it under Groningen.According to the 19th-century historian A.J. van der Aa, Dorkwerd (also written Dorkwert, Dorquert) consisted of 19 houses, with a population of almost 140. Most of the village was in the municipality of Hoogkerk, west of the Reitdiep canal, but two houses belonging to the village were east of the canal in Adorp. There was a small village school here, built in 1832.

The Nieuwe Kerk (English: New Church), in the 18th century also called Noorderkerk, is a Protestant church in the city of Groningen, located on the Nieuwe Kerkhof in the Hortusbuurt. The "new" in the name of the church is a reference to the "old" Sint-Walburgkerk. Originally the cemetery was called the Nieuwe Sint-Walburgkerkhof. The church is located on the northernmost hill of the Hondsrug; the Noordes or Tie (Thye).

Noorderhoogebrug (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈnordərɦoːxəbrʏx]; Gronings: Hogebrug) is a village or hamlet within the municipality of Groningen in the province of Groningen in the Netherlands with 275 inhabitants (2021). It is located within the city limits of Groningen. The village has a large flour mill, the Wilhelmina. A sarries hut was located next to the mill. A house of the same name has been built on its foundations.
