Perry Public Schools is a school system located in Perry, in Lake County, Ohio. The U.S. Department of Education's No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon Schools Program [1] named Perry High School as a Blue Ribbon School from 1994 to 1996; Perry Middle School achieved the same status in 1999 and 2000 (one of only about 20 schools statewide in that year.) The three schools (elementary, middle, and high) are all connected on a beautiful, expansive campus with the high school connected to the other two by a long indoor bridge over a small valley. At the high school, connected to the Community Fitness Center (CFC), there is the Alumni Stadium. A track runs around the Fieldturf football field, which is also used as the soccer field. Tennis courts are behind the stadium's video scoreboard. Before the stadium was redone in 2006–2007, it had an Astroturf field and rubberized track. School colors are traditionally red and white. However, there has been a contemporary push in the direction of black as one of the colors, with opposition coming from staunch alumni.

Perry High School is located next to the Middle School and Elementary school. The school's athletic teams are nicknamed the Pirates and they compete in the Chagrin Valley Conference.

South LeRoy Meeting House (also known as SE LeRoy Methodist Episcopal Church or Brakeman Church) is a historic church in Leroy Township, Ohio The Greek Revival architecture church was started in 1822 and finished in 1832. Henry Brakeman and sons built the church from local lumber. It was placed on the National Register in 1979. As of the fall of 2015, the Leroy South Meetinghouse is undergoing renovations. The entire building has now been resided and painted.

The CSX Painesville bridge is a concrete viaduct located just outside city limits in Painesville Township in northeast Ohio. It is about 350 feet (110 m) long and 100 feet (30 m) above the Grand River. The bridge was built in 1908 for the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway. It has served the Lake Shore, New York Central, Penn Central, Conrail, and its current owner CSX. An average 50 trains daily cross the span, including two Amtrak Lake Shore Limited trains, no. 48 and 49. The bridge is bracketed by two highway spans, just to the south is US Route 20 bridge and just to the north is Ohio State Route 2.

Painesville-on-the-Lake is an unincorporated community in northern Painesville Township, Lake County, Ohio, United States. It lies along the shoreline of Lake Erie north of the county seat of Painesville. The short Hardy Road connects the community to State Route 535. The nearest major airport is Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

Big Creek is a 15.6-mile-long (25.1 km) tributary of the Grand River and flows through Lake and Geauga counties in Ohio. It rises in glacial till near Chardon, Ohio, and cuts through the Defiance Moraine on its way north and exposes rock formations from the Paleozoic Era, including the fossiliferous Chagrin Shale. It joins the Grand River in Painesville Township in Helen Hazen Wyman Park.With a watershed of 50 square miles (130 km2) its tributaries include Cutts, Jenks, Aylworth, East, Gordon and Kellogg Creeks. It has previously been known as Bigg Creek, and West Creek.Big Creek flows through a number of parks, and is known for its fishing of smallmouth bass, and steelhead trout that spawn in the creek.
