Lake Catholic High School is a private Roman Catholic secondary school in Mentor, Ohio, United States. It is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland.

Osborne Park is a lakefront park located on the shore of Lake Erie in Willoughby, Ohio. It is the largest lakefront park in Willoughby and the only one with a swimming pool. The pool features some of the tallest water slides in Lake County, Ohio.

Great Lakes Mall is a shopping mall in Mentor, Ohio on Mentor Avenue (U.S. Route 20), approximately 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Cleveland. The anchor stores are Round 1 Entertainment, Dillard's, JCPenney, and Dick's Sporting Goods. There are two vacant anchor stores that were once Sears and Macy's. The first stores of the mall were opened January 17, 1961, as part of an early development of Edward J. DeBartolo Sr., owned by the Glazer–Marotta Company. Throughout the 1960s, the mall was expanded and enclosed. In 1988, a multi-year renovation occurred, which included replacing the flooring and adding a food court, and a subsequent renovation occurred in 2011. Olive Garden, BJ's Brewhouse, Hobby Lobby, Outback Steakhouse, Barnes & Noble and Atlas Cinemas Stadium 16 are located in the mall parking lot. The mall contains 1,249,574 sq ft (116,089 m2). On May 28, 2014, it was announced by Simon Property Group that they would transfer Great Lakes Mall to its new spin off Washington Prime Group. Washington Prime Group later became WP Glimcher and then back to Washington Prime Group. In 2015, Sears Holdings spun off 235 of its properties, including the Sears at Great Lakes Mall, into Seritage Growth Properties. Dillard's North closed in May 2017, consolidating the men and women's sections into one building; Sears closed in September 2017. Macy's closed in April 2021 due to a plan to close 46 stores nationwide.

Garfield, the 20th president of the United States, and includes the first presidential library established in the United States.

The Chagrin River is located in Northeast Ohio. The river has two branches, the Aurora Branch and East Branch. Of three hypotheses as to the origin of the name, the most probable is that it is a corruption of the name of a Frenchman, Sieur de Seguin, who established a trading post on the river ca. 1742. The Chagrin River runs through suburban areas of Greater Cleveland in Cuyahoga, Geauga, and Portage counties, transects two Cleveland Metroparks reservations, and then meanders into nearby Lake County before emptying into Lake Erie. The East Branch begins in Geauga County, flows north then west through Lake County, largely in Kirtland, and Kirtland Hills, In these communities the East Branch transects the Holden Arboretum, before intersecting the main in Willoughby. The Aurora Branch begins in northwest Portage County, flowing northwest through Aurora and portions of Geauga and Cuyahoga Counties, intersecting the main branch west of Chagrin Falls. The Chagrin River was designated as a state scenic river in 1979.

Mentor was first settled in 1797. In 1876, James A. Garfield purchased a home in Mentor, from which he conducted the first successful front porch campaign for the presidency; the house is now maintained as the James A. Garfield National Historic Site. The city is home to Headlands Beach State Park, the longest public swimming beach in Ohio. The city is a major center of retail stores, ranking sixth-largest in Ohio as of 2012, and restaurants, ranking seventh-largest in the state as of 2012. Mentor Avenue (US 20) is the major retail center, which includes the Great Lakes Mall, with additional shopping and strip malls found along most major roads. Convenient Food Mart is based in Mentor. Major products include medical related, polymers, plastics, electric boards and other peripherals that generally serve the computer and automation industries. Two major railroads pass through the city, CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern. Medical equipment company Steris is based in Mentor. In July 2010, CNNMoney.com ranked Mentor 37th in a list of the Top 100 Best Small Cities to Live in America.

Eastlake is a city in Lake County, Ohio, United States. It takes its name from its location northeast of Cleveland, following along the shore of Lake Erie. The population was 17,670 at the 2020 census. The 2003 North America blackout stemmed from an Eastlake generating station going offline.

Lakeland Community College is a public community college in Lake County, Ohio. Established in 1967, Lakeland was the first college in Ohio founded by a vote of the people. Today, Lakeland serves more than 8,000 full-time and part-time students each year at the main campus in Kirtland, an off-site location in Madison, and via distance learning.
