Village Presbyterian Church is a Presbyterian Church (USA) located in Prairie Village, Kansas. The church was founded in 1949 with 282 members, and has since grown to be one of the largest Presbyterian Churches in America with a reported 4,789 members in 2013. The church's mission statement is “to see and relate to every person in our communities and the world as loved by God.”

The Horn–Vincent–Russell Estate is a historic mansion in Mission Hills, Kansas, U.S.. It was built from 1929 to 1931 for Phoebe and John Horn. It was designed by architect Edward Tanner in the Tudor Revival style.. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 25, 1997.

Shawnee Mission East High School is a public high school in Prairie Village, Kansas, United States, for grades 9 through 12. It is one of five high schools operated by the Shawnee Mission USD 512 school district. Shawnee Mission East High School was established in 1958 in order to serve the growing population of northeast Johnson County, Kansas. In January 1994, Shawnee Mission East began offering the International Baccalaureate program.Shawnee Mission East is a member of the Kansas State High School Activities Association and offers a variety of sports programs. Athletic teams compete in the 6A division and are known as the Lancers. Extracurricular activities are also offered in the form of performing arts, school publications, and clubs.

Mission Hills is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, United States, and part of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 3,498. The east city limits is the Kansas-Missouri state line at State Line Road. Mission Hills was originally developed by noted Kansas City developer J. C. Nichols beginning in the 1920s as part of his Country Club District plan.

Fairway is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, United States, and is included in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area census designation and the Shawnee Mission postal services designation. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 4,170.

KFNZ (610 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Kansas City, Missouri. The Audacy, Inc.-owned station broadcasts a sports radio format. Its studios and offices are located on Squibb Road in Mission, Kansas. KFNZ is one of the oldest radio stations in the Kansas City metropolitan area, going on the air in 1922. KFNZ is a Class B regional station, with a power of 5,000 watts, both the daytime and nighttime, using a non-directional antenna on one tower. The transmitter is off Mission Road in Prairie Village, Kansas. Programming is also heard on the HD2 channel of KFNZ-FM. Local sports shows are heard from mornings to early evenings on weekdays, with programming from Fox Sports Radio airing nights and weekends. Although the station had the slogan "The Football Channel" when it began in June 2003, it is currently the flagship station of MLB's Kansas City Royals, whose rights were reacquired by Entercom (now Audacy) in 2008. It is also the co-flagship station of the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs. The Kansas State Wildcats radio network is also heard on KFNZ.

Mission Center Mall was a small mall in Mission, Kansas, located on a block of land wedged between four major roads, including Shawnee Mission Parkway and Johnson Drive, and Roe Boulevard and Roeland Drive. It opened in 1956 as Mission Shopping Center and was rebuilt as Mission Center Mall in 1989. In 2006, Mission Center Mall was closed and demolished and the property vacated.

Woolford Farm raised thoroughbred race horses in eastern Kansas, in what is now the city of Prairie Village, a suburb of Kansas City. The 200-acre (0.81 km2) was owned by Herbert M. Woolf. Trainer Ben A. Jones worked there before going to Calumet Farm in Lexington, Kentucky. Woolf had hired Ben Jones after he had established a reputation of training and breeding horses at the family ranch in Parnell, Missouri. Ben was accompanied by his son Jimmy Jones. After Lawrin won the Kentucky Derby the two trainers went to work for Warren Wright, Sr. at Calumet Farm. Kansas City Christian School is a private Christian school located in Prairie Village, Kansas. There are approximately 600 students enrolled from preschool through high school. It was formed on July 5, 1951. There have been three main campuses over the years, and the current location for the elementary and high school campus is in Prairie Village. The school offers many athletic programs, including cross-country, soccer, basketball, track, golf, tennis, volleyball, and cheerleading. Those interested in fine arts can participate in band, choir, art, drama, and debate. Kansas City Christian School is accredited by Association of Christian Schools International and the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. It belongs to KSHAA and Delaware Valley League (3A), and the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.

Ward Parkway is a boulevard in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. Ward Parkway begins at Brookside Boulevard on the eastern edge of the Country Club Plaza and travels west 2.8 miles along Brush Creek as U.S. Route 56 before turning south near Kansas-Missouri state line. It continues south for 4 miles, terminating at Wornall Road near Bannister Road. A short spur, Brush Creek Parkway, connects Ward Parkway to Shawnee Mission Parkway at State Line Road. The street is named after the family of local businessman and real estate tycoon Seth E. Ward (1820-1903), who owned property on both sides of the parkway. His family's mansion is located at 1032 West 55th Street along Ward Parkway and remains on the National Register of Historic Places.Ward Parkway has a wide, landscaped median, which is decorated with fountains and statuary. Many of Kansas City's finest large houses are along Ward Parkway as part of the planned Country Club District.

The Wolcott House is a historic house in Mission Hills, Kansas, U.S.. It was built in 1928 for John J. Wolcott, a grain dealer, and his wife Wynnogene (also known as Daisy). It was designed by architect Selby Kurfiss in the Tudor Revival style, with elements of French electricism. In 1939, it was purchased by Louis S. Myers, the vice president and treasurer of the Rodney Milling Company. By 1951, it was purchased by Samuel Sosland, the editor of Southwestern Miller. It was then purchased by David W. Gibson, the president of the Wolcott-Lincoln Company, in 1984, followed by Mark A. Morgan in 1997, and Michael Coughlin in 1999. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since May 2, 2001.
