Polecat Creek is a stream in Clay County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of Wilkerson Creek. Polecat Creek was named for the polecats which roamed along its course.

Ectonville is an unincorporated community in Clay County, Missouri, United States. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The community was named after Dillie Ecton, a local merchant in the 1930s.

Staley High School is a public high school in Kansas City, Missouri. It is one of the four high schools in the North Kansas City School District along with North Kansas City High School, Oak Park High School, and Winnetonka High School. The school was named after the nearby Staley Farms and the road of the same name. The school opened in the 2008–09 school year with an enrollment of nearly 1,000 students from Oak Park High School. It is the first Green school in Missouri; however, other schools are in the process of being built and/or planned. The school's mascot is the Falcons, and the school's colors are green, black, and silver. Staley's original principal, Clark Mershon, retired in June 2017, and was replaced by the current principal Dr. Larry Smith.

Platte Township is an inactive township in Clay County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. Platte Township was erected in 1827, taking its name from the Platte River.

Woodneath, also known as the Elbridge Arnold Homestead, is a historic farmhouse located in Kansas City, Missouri that was occupied by the Arnold, Moore, and Crouch families between 1855 and the late 1970s. It was named "Woodneath" after the abundant oak, pine, and sugar maples on the property, and many of those tree varieties are still present on the property today. The farmhouse and surrounding property are good examples of the agrarian lifestyle common in Clay County, Missouri during this time period. The property is currently adjacent to the Woodneath Farms neighborhood, named for the farmhouse. The farmhouse is one of the oldest antebellum structures in Kansas City and remains an important surviving example of a brick, Greek Revival style farmhouse. Crouch descendants owned Woodneath until they sold it, and 33 acres surrounding the home, to Mid-Continent Public Library in 2008. In June 2013 the Mid-Continent Public Library system constructed a new state of the art Woodneath Branch around, and attached to, the historic home. Mid-Continent has plans to repurpose the Woodneath home as the Woodneath Story Center, using the different rooms of the home as different story centers. Woodneath was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Liberty North High School (LNHS) is a four-year high school located in Liberty, Missouri, United States. As of 2021, its enrollment is over 2,000 (following a rapid increase in the 2013–14 school year, when 9th graders were placed in high schools instead of middle schools for the first time.) LNHS is one of two high schools in the Liberty Public School District, alongside Liberty High School. Liberty North High School has two feeder middle schools, South Valley Middle School and Heritage Middle School (formerly Liberty Junior High).

Brushy Creek is a stream in Clay County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Fishing River. Brushy Creek was so named on account of brush lining its banks.

Clay County is located in the U.S. state of Missouri and is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the county had a population of 253,335, making it the fifth-most populous county in Missouri. Its county seat is Liberty. The county was organized January 2, 1822, and named in honor of U.S. Representative Henry Clay from Kentucky, later a member of the United States Senate and United States Secretary of State.Clay County contains many of the area's northern suburbs, along with a substantial portion of the city of Kansas City, Missouri. It also owns and operates the Midwest National Air Center in Excelsior Springs.

Nashua is a neighborhood on the northside Kansas City, Missouri, United States in what is known as the Northland.A post office called Nashua was established in 1890, and remained in operation until 1962. The community was named after Nashua, New Hampshire, the native home of an early settler.

WHB (810 AM) is a commercial radio station in Kansas City, Missouri, airing an all-sports radio format. Its studios are on West 121st Street in Overland Park, Kansas, also the headquarters of its owner, Union Broadcasting. For most of the 1950s through the 1970s, while it was broadcasting at 710 AM, WHB was one of the nation's most influential Top 40 outlets. WHB is an affiliate of ESPN Radio. It also carries play-by-play games of Sporting Kansas City, the Kansas Jayhawks, UMKC Kangaroos athletics, and the Kansas City Mavericks of the ECHL. Union Broadcasting also owns KCTE, another all-sports station in the Kansas City metropolitan area. KCTE primarily carries ESPN Radio programming while WHB mainly airs local sports shows during the day. KCTE also carries some sporting events that WHB is unable to air due to other commitments. By day, WHB operates at 50,000 watts, the maximum for AM stations. It uses a non-directional antenna. However, because AM 810 is a clear-channel frequency reserved for Class A stations KSFO in San Francisco and WGY in Schenectady, New York, at night WHB reduces power to 5,000 watts. It switches to a directional antenna with a five-tower array. The towers are off Northeast Cookingham Drive in the Nashua neighborhood of Northland, Kansas City, adjacent to Interstate 435. Programming is also heard on 250-watt FM translator K279BI at 103.7 MHz. The station is noted for its large coverage area, as WHB can be heard as far north as the southern fringe of South Dakota, as far east as the Quad Cities, as far west as Garden City, Kansas, and as far south as Fayetteville, Arkansas. City-grade coverage can be achieved as far north as southwestern Iowa. It is the primary entry point station for Kansas and western Missouri in the Emergency Alert System.
