The Vlaardingse Vaart Bridge (also called The Twist) is a helical truss bridge for pedestrian and bicycle traffic over the Vlaardingervaart canal in Vlaardingen, Netherlands.

Sint Maartensregt is a former municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland. It consisted of two former manors: "Sint Maartensregt" and "Dorp-Ambacht". Sint Maartensregt was a separate municipality between 1817 and 1855, when it became part of Schipluiden.

The municipality existed between 1817 and 1941, when it became part of Vlaardingen.Before 1817, it was a so-called craftsmanship (an area with a feudal form of government dating back to the Middle Ages, with a 'gentleman' as central person) in the Hoogheemraadschap van Delfland (Delfland Water Board).

Hodenpijl is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located 3 km southwest of the centre of Delft, in the municipality of Midden-Delfland. Hodenpijl was a separate municipality between 1817 and 1855, when it merged with Schipluiden.

Schipluiden is a village in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. It is the seat of the council of the municipality of Midden-Delfland. The village was founded relatively late in the 15th century and evolved around the Keenenburg castle, which no longer exists. The current Dutch Reformed church in the village centre belonged to the Catholic Teutonic Knights before 1572, when the Calvinists took over control of the church. The village inhabitants worked in the food trade from the agrarian area Westland to the cities of Vlaardingen and Delft. Most of the population became Roman Catholic in the 17th century. For sermons, they had to go to the Roman Catholic Church, some kilometres out of the village. In 1855, the municipality of Sint Maartensregt was merged into Schipluiden.A new Roman Catholic church was built in the 1960s. Schipluiden remained a small agrarian village until the 1950s. Its population began to grow significantly in the second half of the twentieth century as many middle-class people from the cities came to live in the village, but the village has maintained its village culture. Schipluiden was a separate municipality until 2004, when it became part of Midden-Delfland.

Midden-Delfland (Dutch: [ˈmɪdə(n)ˈdɛl(ə)flɑnt] (listen)) is a municipality (gemeente) in the Westland region in the province of South Holland in the Netherlands. It had a population of 19,391 in 2019, and covers an area of 49.38 km2 (19.07 sq mi) of which 2.19 km2 (0.85 sq mi) is water. It was formed on January 1, 2004, through the merger of the former municipalities: Maasland (population: 6,844), covered an area of 24.42 km2 (9.43 sq mi) of which 0.6 km2 (0.23 sq mi) water. Schipluiden (population: 11,173), covered an area of 30.00 km2 (11.58 sq mi) of which 0.39 km2 (0.15 sq mi) water.

The Abtswoudse Bos is man-made park and land art project, opened in 2000, of about 190 ha. It lies south of the Tanthof neighbourhood in Delft, east of Schipluiden and north of Overschie. The Abtswoudse Bos is situated in a polder and has trees, bushes, footpaths, cycling roads, ditches, lakes, and small ponds. The area's waters contain many aquatic plants, like reeds, underwater plants, and floating plants. The polder used to consist of meadows.

The Battle of Zwartewaal (or Battle near Vlaardingen) was a decisive naval battle during the Hook and Cod wars.

Tanthof is a quarter in the South of Delft, the Netherlands. It was built in the 1970s and 1980s and consists mainly of low-rise buildings. The area is divided in two parts, Tanthof-East and Tanthof-West.

Vlaardingen Centrum is a metro station in Vlaardingen in the Netherlands. The station is located on the Schiedam–Hoek van Holland railway.

Vlaardingen Oost is a metro station in Vlaardingen in the Netherlands. Located on the Hoekse Lijn, it is served by RET Metro Line B at all times, and Line A during peak periods.

Sportpark Harga is a cricket ground in Schiedam, Netherlands. The first recorded match on the ground came in 1968 when the Netherlands Under-23s played the Marylebone Cricket Club. The ground hosted various touring international sides in the 1980s, while in 1990 it held seven matches in the ICC Trophy. In 2003, the ground held a Women's One Day International when the Netherlands Women played Japan Women at the IWCC Trophy. In September 2020, a turf ground was installed, giving the facility a total of six pitches, with the aim to host One Day International (ODI) matches in the future.
