The grave of Branko Radičević on Stražilovo is a famous place of great importance, dedicated to the famous Serbian poet Branko Radičević, on the hill of the same name on Fruška Gora, above Sremski Karlovci.

Velika Remeta (Serbian Cyrillic: Велика Ремета) is a village in Serbia. It is situated in the Irig municipality, in the Srem District, Vojvodina province. The village has a Serb ethnic majority and its population numbering 42 people (2002 census). The Velika Remeta Monastery is located near the village.

The Velika Remeta Monastery (Serbian: Манастир Велика Ремета, romanized: Manastir Velika Remeta) is a Serbian Orthodox monastery located in the village of Velika Remeta on the mountain Fruška Gora in northern Serbia. It is one of several monasteries of Fruška Gora. Traditionally, its founding is linked to King Stefan Dragutin. The earliest historical records about the monastery date to 1562. It was declared Monument of Culture of Exceptional Importance in 1990, and it is protected by the Republic of Serbia.

The Grgeteg Monastery (Serbian: Манастир Гргетег, romanized: Manastir Grgeteg) is a Serb Orthodox monastery on the Fruška Gora mountain in the northern Serbia, in the province of Vojvodina. According to tradition, the monastery was founded by Zmaj Ognjeni Vuk (Despot Vuk Grgurević) in 1471. The earliest historical records about the monastery date back to 1545/1546. The monastery had been deserted before the 1690 Great Migration of the Serbs, but a renewal, undertaken by Bishop Isaija Đaković, took place in 1708. Around 1770, the extant baroque church was erected and it underwent restoration in 1898 under the guiding hand of Hermann Bollé. It was then that the residential buildings which enclose the church from all four sides were reconstructed. The first walled rocaille iconostasis in the church interior was painted and inlaid by Jakov Orfelin in 1774–1775. The extant iconostasis is a 1902 work of Uroš Predić. Grgeteg Monastery was declared Monument of Culture of Exceptional Importance in 1990, and it is protected by Republic of Serbia.

The Battle of Karlóca (now Sremski Karlovci, in the South Bačka District of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia) was the first battle in the Hungarian War of Independence of 1848-1849, fought on 12 June 1848 between the Hungarian Royal Army under the command of Lieutenant-General János Hrabovszky and Major Maximilian Eugen von Stein against the Serbian insurgents led by Lieutenant Đorđe Stratimirović. The Hungarians tried to suppress the movement by an attack against the main basis of the Serbians, Karlóca. After initial successes, the Hungarians, fearing of encirclement, retreated to Pétervárad. This action, instead of putting down the Serbian revolt, had the result of inciting it even more, causing its widening during the next months.

Grgeteg (Serbian Cyrillic: Гргетег) is a village in Serbia. It is situated in the Irig municipality, in the Srem District, Vojvodina province. The village has a Serb ethnic majority among its population of 76, according to the 2011 census.Grgeteg is home to the Grgeteg Monastery, one of the sixteen monasteries on the Fruška Gora mountain.

Sremski Karlovci (Serbian Cyrillic: Сремски Карловци, pronounced [srêːmskiː kâːrloːʋt͡si]; Hungarian: Karlóca; Turkish: Karlofça) is a town and municipality located in the South Bačka District of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. It is situated on the banks of the Danube, 8 kilometres (5 miles) from Novi Sad. According to the 2011 census results, it has a population of 8,750 inhabitants. The town has traditionally been known as the seat of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the Habsburg Monarchy. It was the political and cultural capital of Serbian Vojvodina after the May Assembly and during the Revolution in 1848.

The Karlovci Gymnasium (Serbian: Карловачка гимназија, romanized: Karlovačka gimnazija) is the high school (gymnasium) located in the town of Sremski Karlovci. It is the oldest secondary school in Serbia. This type of school is comparable to U.S. college preparatory schools or English grammar schools.

The Chapel of Peace (Serbo-Croatian: Капела мира, Kapela mira) is a Roman Catholic chapel in Sremski Karlovci in Vojvodina, Serbia, built in 1817 at the site of the signing of the 1699 Treaty of Karlowitz which concluded the Great Turkish War. The building was constructed as a token of gratitude to the Virgin Mary for aiding the Christian forces in securing a favourable outcome in the war. Designed to resemble an Ottoman military tent, the chapel has a circular base and three entrances, symbolizing the passageways used by the representatives of Venice, Austria, and Poland. The fourth entrance, meant for the Ottoman delegation, was sealed upon completion, reflecting the hope that they would never return to Pannonian Basin.

The Eparchy of Srem (Serbian: Сремска епархија or Sremska eparhija) is an eparchy (diocese) of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the Syrmia (Srem) region, Serbia. Most of the eparchy is in the autonomous province of Vojvodina, and it also includes a small south-eastern part of Syrmia within the city limits of Belgrade, as well as some West Syrmian parishes in the border region of Croatia. The seat of the eparchy is at Sremski Karlovci. Since 1986, the diocesan bishop is Vasilije Vadić.

The Sremski Karlovci Orthodox Cathedral (Serbian: Саборна црква у Сремским Карловцима, romanized: Saborna crkva u Sremskim Karlovcima) is а Serbian Orthodox church in Sremski Karlovci, in Vojvodina, Serbia. The church is dedicated to Saint Nicholas.The church is located next to the Patriarchate Court and it is the central church of the Eparchy of Srem. Historically it also served as a central church for the Metropolitanate and Patriarchate of Karlovci. The building was constructed in period between 1758 and 1762 during the term of Pavle Nenadović. Nenadović commissioned a project for the new representative baroque building during one of his multiple trips to Vienna. Zaharije Orfelin worked on the project in part related to baroque ornamentations of the two towers during his stay in the town in 1761–1762.There was an older church dedicated to Saint Nicholas as well at the same location which was demolished prior to the beginning of the construction of the contemporary building. The new building was heavily damaged in blaze of 1799 with restauration lasting until 1805. The next general restauration took place in early XX century between 1909 and 1910.
