The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin (in case citations, E.D. Wis.) is a federal trial court of limited jurisdiction. The court is under the auspices of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, although patent claims and claims against the federal government under the Tucker Act are appealed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The Eastern District was established on June 30, 1870.The district's headquarters, central courthouse, and the majority of its offices are located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but the northern counties of the district are serviced by a courthouse in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Currently, Judge Pamela Pepper is the district's chief judge. As of February 22, 2021, the Acting United States Attorney for the District is Richard G. Frohling.

The 411 East Wisconsin Center is a high-rise located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was built in 1985 on the former site of the Goldsmith Building. It was designed by Chicago architect, Harry Weese. It is the fifth tallest building in Milwaukee, and it was the second tallest building in Milwaukee at the time of its completion, surpassed by the Milwaukee Center in 1988. The building has been home to the Quarles & Brady law firm since 1986 and the von Briesen & Roper law firm since 1985. In 2005 the building was sold by TIAA-CREF to Triple Net Properties, a real estate company based in Santa Ana, California, for $95 million. It had an assessed value of $89.2 million in 2005.In 2014, Riverview Realty Partners, an affiliate of Stamford, Connecticut-based Five Mile Capital Partners purchased the building for $74 million and Quarles & Brady extended their lease for another 10 years. Five Mile Capital Partners plans on undergoing $17.5 Million in renovations to the building.

The Pfister Hotel is a luxury AAA Four Diamond Award hotel in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. The Pfister Hotel is a member of Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Owned by Guido Pfister and his son, Charles F. Pfister, it was opened in 1893 at a cost of over $1 million. Designed by architect Henry C. Koch in Romanesque Revival style, it had features uncommon in its time like fireproofing, electricity, and thermostat controls. The hotel was purchased by hospitality magnate Ben Marcus in 1962, who renovated the hotel and added a 13-story addition behind the building without compromising the original building itself, and continues to be owned by the Marcus Corporation. The Pfister Hotel has the largest hotel collection of Victorian art in the world. The hotel has held the AAA Four Diamond award for 37 years, since the inception of the ranking itself in 1977.It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the East Side Commercial Historic District. The 1986 National Register nomination states:The Pfister is the last nineteenth century grand hotel remaining in downtown Milwaukee. Local materials were used in its construction with rock-faced, Wauwatosa limestone for the first two floors and cream brick for the third through eighth floors. Indiana limestone and terra cotta were used as trim. Changes to the exterior include the removal of the massive stone portico on the Jefferson Street facade and the closing of an entrance at the southeast corner. The main lobby has been refurbished and restored to resemble its original appearance."

The Wisconsin Gas Building (originally Milwaukee Gas Light Building) is a classic stepped Art Deco tower located in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin at 626 East Wisconsin Avenue. It was designed by architects Eschweiler & Eschweiler and completed in 1930 using differing materials on the exterior to graduate from dark to light.

The Wisconsin Leather Company Building was built in 1874 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as the central office and store of one of the first leather companies established in Milwaukee and by the 1870s one of the largest. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Watts Tea Shop operated in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was considered one of "America's Classics" by the James Beard Foundation, before closing permanently.

In September 1917, an incident between police and anarchists in the Bay View neighborhood of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, precipitated a larger campaign of Galleanist attacks across the United States. In response to a rally held by a reverend near their clubhouse, the Galleanist anarchists of the Ferrer Circle rushed the stage and tore down the American flag. The police fired on them, killing two, and two detectives were injured in the crossfire. A retaliatory bomb intended for the reverend was relocated to the police headquarters, where its explosion killed nine detectives and a bystander. No one was convicted for this bombing. The November trial of Bay View anarchists for the earlier shooting incident was influenced by sentiment related to the bombing. The jury returned a quick guilty verdict despite what historian Paul Avrich described as insubstantial evidence. The verdict was overturned on appeal and most of the anarchists were released and deported. Until the September 11 attacks, according to the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services Division, the police station explosion was the worst recorded American police tragedy.

The AT&T Center is a 19-story, 213 foot tall neo-gothic building in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Construction began in 1918 for Wisconsin Telephone and was completed in 1924. It houses the AT&T Wisconsin headquarters.

The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist is the episcopal see of the Catholic Archdiocese of Milwaukee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The building itself is in German Renaissance Revival style, built in 1847, with changes after several fires. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a Milwaukee Landmark. It is located just east of Cathedral Square Park.

This Is It!, also known locally as Tits, is a gay bar and lounge located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is the oldest, continually-operating gay bar in the state of Wisconsin.The bar is located in a building constructed in 1915 on the corner of Jefferson and Wells streets. The space the bar occupies has been used as a bar and tavern since 1936, previously known as "The Establishment", and before that "Vern's Tap".

Immigrant Mother is a public artwork by Croatian artist Ivan Meštrović located in Cathedral Square Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. The bronze sculpture sits on a red granite base and depicts a mother with her children.

The Northwestern Mutual Tower and Commons is a 550-foot, 32-story skyscraper located at 805 East Mason Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On September 25, 2013, Northwestern Mutual unveiled the design for its new office tower. The company's former 16-story building was demolished to make room for the new tower. The new tower was completed in 2017 at an estimated cost of $450 million. The grand opening was on August 21, 2017. At 550 feet (170 m), the Northwestern Mutual Tower and Commons is the second-tallest building in Milwaukee. In October 2015, Northwestern Mutual announced plans to build a 34-story residential tower with retail and parking in downtown Milwaukee. 7Seventy7 was completed in 2018.
