Forest Hill, Oxfordshire

Shotover Park (also called Shotover House) is an 18th-century country house and park near Wheatley, Oxfordshire, England. The house, garden and parkland are Grade I-listed with English Heritage, and 18 additional structures on the property are also listed. Shotover House, its gardens, parkland and the wider estate (known as Shotover Estate) are privately owned by the Shotover Trust. Shotover Park which lies on the north and east slopes of Shotover hill should not be confused with the more recently named Shotover Country Park, which is a public park and nature reserve on the southwest slopes of Shotover hill managed by Oxford City Council.

Stanton Great Wood is a 58.2-hectare (144-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-east of Oxford in Oxfordshire.This coppice with standards wood is traditionally managed. The dominant trees are pedunculate oak, ash and hazel, and there is a rich flora and diverse insects. Moths include the buff footman, poplar lutestring, blotched emerald, maiden's blush and the nationally uncommon small black arches.The site is private land with no public access.

Lyehill Quarry is a 2.8-hectare (6.9-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Oxford in Oxfordshire. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This disused quarry exposes rocks dating to the Wheatley Limestone member of the Stanford Formation, approximately 160 million years ago during the Middle Jurassic. The deposits are limestones in an unstable reef substrate, and the only fossils are of oysters.The site is private land with no public access.

Stanton St. John is a village and civil parish in Oxfordshire about 4.5 miles (7 km) northeast of the centre of Oxford. The village is 330 feet (100 m) above sea level on the eastern brow of a group of hills northeast of Oxford, in a slight saddle between two of the hills.

Forest Hill with Shotover is a civil parish covering 7.56 km² of South Oxfordshire approximately centred 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Oxford. Its population in 2011 was 856, almost exclusively in the villages of Forest Hill, hamlets of Shotover Cleve and Shotover Edge. It includes a country estate at Shotover Park. Forest Hill with Shotover was formed in 1881 by the merger of three smaller civil parishes: Forest Hill, Shotover and Shotover Hill Place.

Holton is a village and civil parish in South Oxfordshire about 5.5 miles (9 km) east of Oxford. The parish is bounded to the southeast by the River Thame, to the east and north by the Thame's tributary Holton Brook, to the south by London Road and to the west by field boundaries with the parishes of Forest Hill with Shotover and Stanton St John.

Headington was a rural district in Oxfordshire, England from 1894 to 1932, based on the Headington rural sanitary district. It covered an area to the east of the city of Oxford. The parish of Headington was split out as a separate urban district in 1927. It was abolished under a County Review Order in 1932. Most went to form part of Bullingdon Rural District, with the parish of Horton cum Studley/Studley going to the new Ploughley Rural District.

Holton Wood is a 50.6-hectare (125-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Oxford in Oxfordshire.This ancient wood was formerly part of Bernwood Forest, which was a medieval hunting forest. It is semi-natural coppice with standards, with fine oak standards of varying ages. It has a rich invertebrate fauna, including 27 species of butterfly, with uncommon species such as white admiral and purple emperor.

Holly Wood is a 25.6-hectare (63-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-east of Oxford in Oxfordshire.This ancient wood is a small remnant of the medieval Royal Forest of Shotover. It is coppice with standards on Oxford Clay with a varied invertebrate fauna. There are several uncommon butterfiles such as the black hairstreak and purple emperor.

Looping Star is a steel roller coaster located at Clacton Pier in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex manufactured by Pinfari. It was formerly located at Codonas Amusement Park in Aberdeen, Scotland. It was the park's only ride with an inversion, built on top of the mini-golf and restaurant. It replaced the Galaxi roller coaster, which was moved to Loudoun Castle amusement park (now defunct). The ride used to have three trains, but after 2010 the ride operated 2 trains, then some point in 2017 The coaster operated just 1 train (the other two are sitting on the transfer track). They use the newer Pinfari trains, which can be seen on rides built from the mid 1990s onwards. The Looping Star has now been moved to Clacton Pier, where it was intended to be assembled and open for the 2020 summer season, however, as a result of damage from Storm Ciara, it was opened on the 23rd October 2021 instead.

Wheatley Park School (WPS) is a co-educational state secondary school of approximately 1,150 pupils situated in Holton, Oxfordshire, England about 8 miles (13 km) east of Oxford. The school has been an academy since May 2014. The school is most notable for producing the United Kingdom's former Prime Minister, Theresa May and the alternative rock band Supergrass.

Littleworth is a hamlet in South Oxfordshire, about 4+1⁄2 miles (7 km) east of Oxford, England. It is in Wheatley civil parish, immediately west of Wheatley village.
