The John W. McCormack Post Office and Courthouse, formerly the United States Post Office, Courthouse, and Federal Building is a historic building at 5 Post Office Square in Boston, Massachusetts. The twenty-two-story, 331-foot (101 m) skyscraper was built between 1931 and 1933 to house federal courts, offices, and post office facilities. The Art Deco and Moderne structure was designed in a collaboration between the Supervising Architect of the United States Treasury Department and the Boston architectural firm of Cram and Ferguson. It occupies a city block bounded by Congress, Devonshire, Water, and Milk Streets, and has over 600,000 square feet (56,000 m2) of floor space. The exterior of the building is faced in granite from a variety of New England sources, as well as Indiana limestone. It was built on the site of the 1885 United States Post Office and Sub-Treasury Building. The building is named for John W. McCormack, a long-serving Boston Congressman who was Speaker of the House from 1962 to 1971. It was designated a Boston Landmark by the Boston Landmarks Commission in 1998 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Completed in 1975, it is Boston's 13th-tallest building, standing 520 feet (159 m) tall, and housing 38 floors. It is very close to the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway, Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Construction of the building was completed in 1976. However, it underwent renovations between 1992 and 2011. Some of the most notable tenants include: AON Service Corporation, Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, Credit Suisse, J.P. Morgan, Iron Mountain, Oppenheimer, and U.S. Bank.

The Winthrop Building is an historic skyscraper at 7 Water Street (intersection with Washington Street) in Boston, Massachusetts. The nine story brick and terracotta building was designed by Clarence H. Blackall in the Renaissance Revival style, and has the distinction of being the first skyscraper in the city to have been constructed with a steel frame. Completed in 1894, it was originally known as the Carter Building, but was renamed the Winthrop Building in 1899 after the Puritan Governor John Winthrop, whose second house was located adjacent to the site. Prominent past tenants include Landscape Architect Fletcher Steele in the 1920s and the Boston offices of the Associated Press.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, and was designated a Boston Landmark by the Boston Landmarks Commission in 2016.

One Devonshire Place is a modern skyscraper in the Government Center neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts directly across from One Boston Place. Built in 1983, it stands 396 feet (121 meters) tall, housing 42 floors.The building is mixed-use, with 8 floors of offices and 35 of residential space (including a basement level). The building is built on two levels, with the Washington Street side a full story higher than the Devonshire side. There is an open driveway passing through the bottom level between these streets, a rarity for a skyscraper.

The eleven-story Classical Revival office tower was built in 1902–03 to a design by Winslow & Bigelow. It was connected by internal connections to the adjacent International Trust Company Building in 1961, when the two buildings were under common ownership. The building now houses the Club Quarters Hotel. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

The International Trust Company Building is an historic office building at 39-47 Milk Street in Boston, Massachusetts. The nine-story masonry-clad building was built in 1892–93 to a design by William Gibbons Preston. It is an early Boston example of the Beaux Arts style, and is structurally an early prototype of the use of skeleton framing. It was enlarged in 1906, to a design by Woodbury & Leighton. It was connected by internal connections to the adjacent Compton Building in 1961, when the two buildings were under common ownership.The building was designated a Boston Landmark by the Boston Landmarks Commission in 1978. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The Codman Building is a historic building at 55 Kilby Street (also known as 10 Liberty Square) in Boston, Massachusetts. The first four stories of this six-story brick and stone building were designed by Sturgis & Brigham and built in 1874 in the Gothic Revival style. It is the only one of the firm's commercial designs in the Financial District to survive. The upper three floors, in a more typical Late Victorian fashion, were added sometime before 1898.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Great Boston fire of 1760 was a major conflagration that occurred on March 20, 1760, in downtown Boston, Massachusetts. The fire destroyed 349 buildings in the area between the modern Washington Street and Fort Hill as well as several ships in port, and left over a thousand people homeless.

The George Thorndike Angell Memorial (sometimes called Angell Memorial Fountain or George Thorndike Angell Memorial Horse Fountain) is a monument commemorating George Thorndike Angell in Boston, in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. The work was surveyed by the Smithsonian Institution's "Save Outdoor Sculpture!" program in 1997.
