Joane is a civil parish in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão, Portugal. The population in 2011 was 8,089, in an area of 7.32 km2. It is the birthplace of Bernardino Machado, two times President of Portugal during the First Republic.

Bente is a former civil parish in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão in the Minho region, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Carreira e Bente. Its surface area is 1.30 km² and its population, in 2001, was 959.

Riba de Ave (also known as Riba d'Ave) is a Portuguese town located in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão. The population in 2011 was 3,425, in an area of 2.76 km².The town has existed since before Portugal became a country, although it has never been more than a tiny village in the Ave Valley. It's the only place in the region that has maintained its name since medieval times. The town only started to develop at the end of the 19th century when a textile industrial, Narciso Ferreira, settled there and created one of the first textile factories of the Ave Valley, Sampaio Ferreira. He was very successful and Riba de Ave was, for the better part of the 20th century one of the richest villages of the region. However the successive economic crisis proved fatal for most of the town's industry.

It was formed in 2013 by the merger of the former parishes Leitões, Oleiros, and Figueiredo. The population in 2021 was 1,437, in an area of 8.98 km2.

Estádio do CD das Aves is a multi-use stadium in Vila das Aves, Portugal. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Clube Desportivo das Aves. The stadium holds 8,560 people and was built in 1981. It underwent many renovations during the new millennium especially in the year 2000, when Desportivo das Aves gained promotion to the Primeira Liga for the second time in their history. When the stadium was built, there were 12,500 seats available, but it currently seats only 8,560 after the club decided to remove some of its seats. The French national football team used the stadium as a training ground in preparation for UEFA Euro 2004. The French side reached the quarter final stage of the competition after being knocked out of the tournament by eventual winners Greece thanks to a goal by Angelos Charisteas.

Sequeirô is a former civil parish in the municipality of Santo Tirso, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Areias, Sequeiró, Lama e Palmeira. It is located 3 km north of the city of Santo Tirso.
