St Paul's Church, Scotforth

The Royal Albert Hospital was a hospital in Lancaster, Lancashire, England. It opened in 1870 as an institution for the care and education of children with learning problems. By 1909 there were 662 children in residence. Following new legislation in 1913, adults were also admitted. By the time of the introduction of the National Health Service in 1948 the hospital had 886 patients, and by the 1960s there were over 1,000 patients. Following legislation in the 1980s, the patients were relocated in the community, and the hospital closed in 1996. The building was acquired by Jamea Al Kauthar Islamic College to provide Islamic education for girls. The main part of the hospital is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and its west lodge is listed at Grade II.

Greaves House, now known as Greaves Park, is a Grade II listed house in Lancaster, England, now a pub and restaurant, and is also the name of the surrounding public park. It was built in 1843 by the Reverend Samuel Simpson and was the residence of many notable people for the next century.

Ripley School Chapel is part of what is now the Ripley St Thomas Church of England Academy, located in Ashton Road, Lancaster, Lancashire, England. It is considered to be of architectural importance and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.

Scotforth is a suburb in the south of the city of Lancaster in Lancashire, England. It is home to Scotforth St Paul's Church of England Primary School and St Paul's Church. The civil parish, which does not include the suburb had a population of 239 recorded in the 2001 census, increasing to 321 at the 2011 Census.Parts of Lancaster were made up of several villages; Scotforth used to be a separate village. Some of the village's original terraces can still be seen on parts of Hala Road and Scotforth Road. Cross Fleury, in his 1891 history of Lancaster, tells the story of Bonnie Prince Charlie's search for a suitable battlefield on which to make his last stand against the Duke of Cumberland. A potential site was identified in Scotforth, and were it not for the rebel Prince's sudden change of mind and continued retreat northwards, 'The Battle of Scotforth' might easily have become the name of that great rout in British history ... as opposed to the now infamous name of Culloden.Scotforth is home to St Paul's Church of England Primary School and to Dorrington Road, which is the longest terrace of houses in Europe. Lancaster Animal Care, a local animal charity is also based there. The suburb has bus routes operated by Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire heading towards the university in the south and Morecambe in the north.

Ripley St Thomas Church of England Academy is a mixed Church of England high school operating under academy status, in the city of Lancaster in the north west of England. The school has over 1700 pupils between 11 and 18 years old, 350 of whom are part of the sixth form.

The first Lancaster railway station was the northern terminus of the Lancaster and Preston Junction Railway, located in the Greaves area of the city of Lancaster, Lancashire, England. It was open from 1840 to 1849, by which time it had been superseded by Lancaster Castle railway station. Some books refer to the station as "Lancaster (Greaves)" or "Lancaster (Penny Street)" to distinguish it from later stations in the city, although whilst open it was known simply as "Lancaster" as there was no other station of that name at the same time.

The Adult College was an adult education college located in the centre of Lancaster in Lancashire, England. The college was established in 1975, and moved to a site on Quarry Road overlooking the Lancaster Canal in 1990. The Adult College was not an independent body, rather it was wholly owned and operated by Lancashire County Council as part of Lancashire Adult Learning. Courses offered by the college were aimed primarily at adult learners who were returning to education, rather than recent school leavers. Levels of study ranged from basic literacy and numeracy courses to GCSEs and Access courses. The Adult College site on Quarry Road closed in October 2016. Courses are now offered via Lancashire Adult Learning, and are held in various Lancashire County Council owned buildings.

The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

St Walburga's Convent stands to the north of Balmoral Road, Lancaster, in Lancashire, England. It was built in 1851–53, and designed by the local architect E. G. Paley. The building is connected to the convent chapel of Lancaster Cathedral by an L-shaped corridor. It pre-dates the cathedral, and was the earliest structure to be built on the cathedral complex. The convent is constructed in sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings, and has a slate roof. Its architectural style is Gothic Revival. The building has an L-shaped plan and is in two storeys. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.
