Carrara () is a suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In the 2016 census, Carrara had a population of 12,060 people.

The 1969 Chevron Paradise 6 Hour was an endurance race for Sports Cars and Touring Cars. The event was held at the Surfers Paradise circuit in Queensland, Australia on 2 November 1969.The race was won by Kunimitsu Takahashi & Yoshikayo Sunago, driving a Datsun R380 Mk. 2.

The 1970 Rothmans 12 Hour was an endurance motor race for Group E Series Production Touring Cars. The event was held at the Surfers Paradise International Raceway in Queensland, Australia on 4 January 1970 with the field divided into four classes determined by the retail price of the vehicle. The race was won by Colin Bond and Tony Roberts driving a Class D Holden Monaro HT GTS350 for the Harry Firth run Holden Dealer Team. The pair, who four months earlier had won the 1969 Hardie-Ferodo 500 at Bathurst, covered 435 laps of the 3.219 km (2.000 mi) circuit for a distance of 1,400.265 km (870 mi).

The 1967 Surfers Paradise Four Hour was an endurance race for “Production Touring Cars”, held at the Surfers Paradise International Raceway in Queensland, Australia on 9 April 1967. The race, which was organised by the Queensland Racing Drivers Club, was the first Surfers Paradise Four Hour, superseding the Lowood Four Hour race which had been run in 1964, 1965 and 1966. Outright victory was awarded to the Alfa Romeo Giulia Super entered by Alec Mildren Racing Pty Ltd and driven by Kevin Bartlett and Doug Chivas.

Surfers Paradise International Raceway was a motor racing complex at Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The 3.219 kilometres (2.000 mi) long circuit was designed and built by Keith Williams, a motor racing enthusiast who also designed and built the Adelaide International Raceway (AIR) in South Australia in 1972. It was located opposite the Surfers Paradise Ski Gardens at Carrara.

It was the first of two such races to be held at the circuit.The race was won by Bill Gates and Jim Bertram driving a Ford XT Falcon GT.
