St. George's Girls' School

DISTED College is a private college within George Town, the capital city of the Malaysian state of Penang. It was established in 1987 as the first Penang-based private tertiary institution. The college provides various pre-university, diploma and degree courses, some of which are twinned with foreign universities.The DISTED Heritage campus is on Macalister Road in close vicinity to downtown George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The college is wholly owned by Wawasan Open University.

The Residency (Malay: Seri Mutiara) is the official residence of Penang's head of state, the governor of Penang. The Penang Masonic Temple is an historic Masonic building located at 136 Jalan Utama (Western Road), corner of Jalan Brown (Brown Road), in the former city of George Town on Penang Island in the state of Penang, Malaysia. In 1924, The Royal Prince of Wales Lodge No. 1555, United Grand Lodge of England, and Lodge Scotia No. 1003, Grand Lodge of Scotland, each of which had its own meeting hall, agreed to build the Penang Masonic Temple at its current site to serve their own needs as well as those of other Masonic bodies in the area. A limited company was formed, with each lodge controlling half, to buy the property, construct the building and own and maintain it thereafter. The land was acquired in 1926 and the foundation was laid on 17 December 1927 Designed by architect Howard Leicester in the Art Deco style of architecture, the building was built by contractor Lee Ghee Sok. Today it is considered a heritage site and its white exterior is painted white with some of its Art Deco details are painted blue. It is still used by the founding lodges for their meetings and is also utilised by 7 other Masonic bodies of either English or Scottish jurisdiction, which pay rent for its use.

Wat Buppharam (Thai: วัดบุปผาราม; RTGS: Wat Buppharam) (also called as the Buppharam Buddhist Temple) is a Thai temple in Pulau Tikus suburb of George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Situated at Jalan Perak, the temple is the home to a renowned statue of Buddha, the "Lifting Buddha". The temple became a focal point for the annual Siamese Songkran and Loi Krathong festivals within the city suburb and for the city yearly Buddha Day procession as well the Jathukarm-Ramathep-Ganesha blessing ceremonies.

Burmah Road is a major thoroughfare in the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. It is one of the main roads leading out of the city centre to the suburbs, stretching from the heart of George Town towards Pulau Tikus. Along its western section, the 3.7 km (2.3 mi) long Burmah Road cuts through the centre of Pulau Tikus, serving as the main thoroughfare for the suburb as well.Burmah Road is one of the few places worldwide that was named after the nation state of Burma (now Myanmar). As its name implies, the road was once home to a significant Burmese community. In addition, ethnic Eurasians and Thais still live at or around the vicinity of the road within Pulau Tikus, contributing to the street's multicultural character. The road is also well known as one of the destinations within Penang Island to sample the famed local cuisine. The most popular hawker centres at Burmah Road are the New World Park and Pulau Tikus Wet Market, the latter of which is located just off the road in Pulau Tikus.
