The Penang General Hospital (Malay: Hospital Pulau Pinang) is the oldest historical and largest public hospital is since 1854, in the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. The largest public hospital in Penang, it also serves as the reference hospital within northern Malaysia.The hospital had its origins as a medical centre founded in 1854 for the poor and opium addicts.

The Suffolk House refers to two early residences built on the same site located some four miles west of George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Located on the banks of the Air Itam ("Black Water") River, the earliest of the two buildings is notable for having served as the residence of Francis Light, the founder of the first British settlement on Penang. Following Light's death in 1794, and with Penang becoming the fourth presidency of India in 1805, a newer Suffolk House replaced the original house, assuming multiple roles before it was later neglected and subsequently restored.

Methodist Boys' School is an all-boys secondary school in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. It is one of the two secondary schools in George Town that were established by Methodists, the other being Methodist Girls' School. Methodist Boys' School was founded in 1891 by a Methodist missionary, Rev. Benjamin H. Balderstone as the Anglo-Chinese School. This secondary school was only renamed Methodist Boys' School in the 1950s when the current school buildings at Air Itam Road were completed. While the school has been an all-boys school since its establishment, girls are now admitted for Form 6 as well. Pykett Methodist Primary School in George Town also shares its origins with Methodist Boys' School; the primary school was formed at Pykett Avenue after the relocation of the secondary school to Air Itam Road. However, the primary school will be shut down in 2019 after years of dwindling intake.

Penang Sports Club is a private members sports club and cricket ground, established in the year 1936. It is located in the city of Georgetown covering a land area of about 16 acres (65,000 m2). The ground has hosted cricket matches for Malaya and then Malaysia.

The Penang Indian Heritage Museum (Malay: Muzium Warisan Kaum India Penang) is a museum in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. The museum is about the history of Indian community in Penang. The museum features more than 2,000 artefacts related to Malaysian Indian that have been preserved since the 1930s.

St. George's Girls' School is an all-girls secondary school in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Originally established in 1885, it is notable for its academic achievements and notable alumnae from different racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, leading to its inclusion in the Malaysian Ministry of Education's Cluster School and High Performance School systems. The school is academically selective, accepting only the top ten percentile of students from a number of primary schools, including Islands Girls' School, Northam Road Primary Girls' School, and Residency Road Girls' School. The teaching curriculum and environment is secular, making it popular with students from diverse racial, ethnic and/or religious affiliations. School facilities include well-equipped science laboratories, athletic field tracks, tennis courts, gymnasium for gymnastic training, and school canteen where students can buy inexpensive meals.

Mahindarama Buddhist Temple (Sinhala: මහින්දාරාම බෞද්ධ පන්සල, Chinese: 玛兴达拉麻佛寺) is a Sri Lankan temple situated in Jalan Kampar of George Town of Penang in Malaysia. It is the sole and the oldest Malaysian Sri Lankan temple in the state which is also one of the few temples in Malaysia where the Buddha's relics are stored. The temple became a focal point for the Candle Lighting Day and the annual Wesak festival within the city suburb.

DISTED College is a private college within George Town, the capital city of the Malaysian state of Penang. It was established in 1987 as the first Penang-based private tertiary institution. The college provides various pre-university, diploma and degree courses, some of which are twinned with foreign universities.The DISTED Heritage campus is on Macalister Road in close vicinity to downtown George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The college is wholly owned by Wawasan Open University.

Penang Turf Club is a major horse racing course in Penang, Malaysia which was established in 1864. In addition to racing, the club also provides equestrian facilities and a golf course.

The Seri Teratai is the official residence of Penang's head of government, the Chief Minister of Penang. It is located in the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. The colonial-era double storey mansion was constructed in the early 20th century.Despite the building's status as the official residence of Penang's head of government, the building has been left unoccupied since 2009 due to its dilapidated condition. This changed in 2019 when Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow moved into the premises on July after assuming office following the historic 14th General Election in 2018.

The City Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in George Town, Penang, Malaysia, and serves as the home stadium of the Penang state football team, Penang FA. The oldest built stadium still in use in Malaysia, it was built in 1932 by the British government.The stadium has a capacity of approximately 25,000 people and is now mainly used for football matches involving Penang FA, such as the Malaysian Super League. It is also well-known for the vociferous home support, dubbed the "Keramat Roar".The stadium was the site where Mohd Faiz Subri, a Penang FA player, scored a physics-defying free kick goal during a Malaysian Super League match in 2016. He was awarded the prestigious FIFA Puskás Award the following year for this particular effort.

Han Chiang High School (韩江中学) is a Chinese independent high school in Jalan Han Chiang, Penang, Malaysia. The school was founded in 1950 by the Teow Chew Association of Penang and a local businessman, Lim Lean Teng. Teng gave the school and Han Chiang Primary School a piece of land measuring 33 acres (130,000 m2).The school is the first private Chinese school in Malaysia to be founded. It has a (sports) stadium, a "Just English" centre, a hostel, an event hall, three basketball courts, a library, five science labs, two computer labs, a music hall, a conference room and several multimedia rooms. All of its classrooms and facilities are air-conditioned. The school had about 1,000 students in the past decades, but it has recently soared to 2000 (approx.) students due to the availability of the IGCSE course. One third of the student population hail from foreign countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore etc. The private Han Chiang High School holds an entrance exam annually. Students wishing to attend have to take and pass the exam before enrolling.
