Cross River (Maine)

The Josiah K. Parsons Homestead is a historic house overlooking Greenleaf Cove in Westport, Maine. Built in 1792 by a veteran of the American Revolutionary War, it is a well-preserved example of early Federal period architecture. The property also includes an early 19th-century trading post with original fixtures, and was used in the 20th century for pioneering research in the neurophysiology and communications capabilities of dolphins by John C. Lilly. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Maine Yankee Nuclear Power Plant was a nuclear power plant built at an 820-acre site on Bailey Peninsula of Wiscasset, Maine, in the United States. It operated from 1972 until 1996, when problems at the plant became too expensive to fix. It was decommissioned and dismantled between 1997 and 2005, though some of the plant's nuclear waste is still stored on site, pending final disposal.

The Stephen Parsons House is a historic house on Old Mill Road in Edgecomb, Maine. Built in 1806 by a prominent local businessman and politician, it is a fine local example of Federal period architecture. Its interior includes extensive decorative stencilwork in the main hall. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Montsweag Bay is a small brackish water bay near Wiscasset, Maine. It connects to Hockomock Bay, which connects with many more bays and eventually to the Atlantic Ocean. The peninsula known as Chewonki Neck juts out into the bay between Westport Island and the town of Woolwich and is the home of the Chewonki Foundation.

The Squire Tarbox House is a historic house at 1181 Main Road in Westport, Maine. Built in 1763 and enlarged in 1820, it is a fine local example of Georgian and Federal architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, and is presently home to the Squire Tarbox Inn.

The Westport Community Church, also known historically as Temperance Hall and the Music Hall, is a historic church on Main Road (Maine State Route 144) in Westport, Maine. Probably built in the 1830s, and moved to its present location in 1864, it is a fine local example of Greek Revival architecture. It is now owned by a local non-profit organization, used for events and functions in the summertime. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Westport Town Hall is the current town hall of Westport, Maine. It is located on Main Road (Maine State Route 144) in a former Congregational church built in 1794. The building, used as the town hall since 1885, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002 as Union Meeting House, (Former) [sic].

Westport Island, formerly Westport, is a town in Lincoln County, Maine, United States. In the 19th century the island was known as Jeremysquam, a nickname islanders still use for it. The population was 719 at the 2020 census.

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is a botanical garden in Boothbay, Maine. It was opened in 2007.The gardens have been named one of Maine's top attractions. Its gardens and landscape include nearly a mile of tidewater shoreline. After 16 years of planning, planting, and building, the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens opened on June 13, 2007. This project began in 1991 when a group of Maine residents founded the grassroots organization. In 1996, after a thorough search for an appropriate site, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens purchased 128 acres (52 ha) of land with 3,600 feet (1,100 m) of tidal shore frontage in Boothbay. Today, as the largest botanical garden in New England, the gardens comprise 295 acres (119 ha), 17 of which are gardens featuring native plants of Maine and other plants suited to northern coastal conditions. Yearly, the gardens see on average 200,000 guests from throughout the United States and (in 2018) 63 foreign countries.

Wiscasset Municipal Airport (IATA: ISS, ICAO: KIWI, FAA LID: IWI) is a public-use airport located three miles (5 km) southwest of the central business district of Wiscasset, a town in Lincoln County, Maine, United States. This general aviation airport is publicly owned by Town of Wiscasset. As of 2007 it is not served by commercial aircraft, though scheduled air service was once available on Downeast Airlines. Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, Wiscasset Airport is assigned IWI by the FAA and ISS by the IATA. The airport's ICAO identifier is KIWI.

The Knight-Corey House is a historic house on Corey Lane in Boothbay, Maine. Built in 1787, it is a high quality local example of Federal period architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Edgecomb is a town in Lincoln County, Maine, United States. The population was 1,188 at the 2020 census. It includes the neighborhoods of East Edgecomb, North Edgecomb, and Pools Landing. The town was named for George Edgcumbe, 1st Earl of Mount Edgcumbe, a supporter of the colonists. Fort Edgecomb is a Maine State Historic Site.
