Northop College in Flintshire, North Wales is jointly operated by Glyndwr University and Coleg Cambria. Formerly known as the Welsh College of Horticulture and Northop College, it became part of Coleg Cambria when Deeside College merged with Yale College, Wrexham in August 2013. Degree level courses at the college are run by Glyndwr University. Coleg Cambria consists of six campuses including Deeside, Yale Grove Park, Yale Bersham Road, Llysfasi, Northop and Wrexham Training. The encompassed college offers a wide range of courses from Further Education to HNC's and Foundation Degrees for full and part-time students, apprentices and part-time community learners. Coleg Cambria Northop also offers further and higher education courses and work-based learning studies, it also provides a variety of professional short courses and leisure programmes. Furthermore, the student numbers have increased in recent years, there are approximately 3,000 full-time and 10,000 part-time students. The Flintshire Coalfield in north-east Wales is one of the smaller British coalfields. It is in the county of Flintshire and extends from the Point of Ayr in the north, along the Dee Estuary through Connah's Quay to Caergwrle in the south. A small part extends onto the Wirral i.e. English coast of the estuary at Neston, Cheshire which was the site of a coalmine for a period. The coal-bearing strata continue southwards of Caergwrle as the Denbighshire Coalfield. Together the two coalfields are known as the North Wales Coalfield.

Northop (Welsh: Llaneurgain) is a village, community and electoral ward situated in Flintshire, Wales, approximately 12 miles west of the city of Chester, midway between Mold and Flint, and situated just off junction 33 of the A55 North Wales Expressway. At the 2001 Census, the population of Northop was 2,983, increasing to 3,049 at the 2011 census. The community includes Sychdyn. The village is home to two pubs, a cricket club, and a golf course. At the centre of the village stands the church of St Eurgain and St Peter, towering 98 feet above the village. Northop College based in Northop, offering horticultural courses for students of all ages, in areas such as Animal Care, floristry, Horse Care, Horticulture and agricultural machinery. Wrexham University has a campus based in Northop; this is the university's home for land-based and rural education, and a centre for courses on animal studies and biodiversity.

St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School is a Catholic co-educational voluntary aided secondary school situated on Albert Avenue in Flint, Flintshire, United Kingdom. It was founded in 1954 to serve the Catholic population of Flintshire. It is one of three Catholic secondary schools in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Wrexham, the others being St Joseph's Catholic & Anglican High School, Wrexham and Blessed Edward Jones Catholic High School, Rhyl.

Flint (Welsh: Y Fflint) is a town and community in Flintshire, Wales, lying on the estuary of the River Dee. It is the former county town of Flintshire. According to the 2001 Census, the population of the community of Flint was 12,804, increasing to 12,953 at the 2011 census. The urban area including Holywell and Bagillt had a population of 26,442.

Alyn and Deeside (Welsh: Alun a Glannau Dyfrdwy) is a parliamentary constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (at Westminster). The constituency was created in 1983, and it elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first-past-the-post method of election. The Alyn and Deeside Senedd constituency was created with the same boundaries in 1999. The constituency is to retain its name and gain wards, as part of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies and under the June 2023 final recommendations of the Boundary Commission for Wales for the next United Kingdom general election.

Flint Town Hall (Welsh: Neuadd y Dref Y Fflint) is a municipal structure in the Market Square, Flint, Flintshire, Wales. The town hall, which is the meeting place of Flint Town Council, is a Grade II listed building.

Flint railway station (Welsh: Y Fflint) serves the town of Flint in Flintshire, North Wales. It is located on the North Wales Coast Line and is managed by Transport for Wales, who provide most of the passenger trains that call here. There are certain Avanti West Coast services that serve the station. In July 2008, Flint station was voted "Best in UK".

Soughton Hall is a Grade II* listed country house hotel in Sychdyn, Flintshire, Wales. Notable guests that have stayed include Luciano Pavarotti, Michael Jackson and King Juan Carlos I of Spain. William John Bankes inherited Soughton Hall in the 1815. The parks and gardens are listed as Grade II* in the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.

Flint Town United Football Club (Welsh: Clwb Pêl-droed Tref Y Fflint Unedig) is a football club based in Flint, Flintshire, Wales, that will compete in the Cymru North, the second highest tier of Welsh football, in the 2023–24 season following relegation from the Cymru Premier. Nicknamed "the Silkmen", they play their home games at Cae-y-Castell also known as the 'Essity Stadium' following their sponsorship deal. "The Castle Field", Flint.

Cae-y-Castell (currently known as the Essity Stadium for sponsorship reasons) is a football stadium in Flint, Flintshire, Wales. Located on the banks of the Dee Estuary close to Flint Castle, it is the home ground of Flint Town United and is also used by Flint Rugby Club.

Cornist Hall is a large house 1 mile (1.6 km) west-southwest of the town of Flint, Flintshire, Wales. It was the birthplace in 1746 of Thomas Totty, an admiral who served under Lord Nelson. In about 1884 the industrialist Richard Muspratt commissioned the Chester architect John Douglas to re-model the house, but Muspratt died before this could be executed. It was later owned by members of the Summers family, who ran the ironworks business of John Summers and Sons in Shotton and who made extensive alterations to the house. In 1953 the ownership of the house passed to the Local Authority who modified the interior for catering purposes. The Napier family took it over in 1987 and developed it as a wedding and dining venue. The Hall was eventually converted into the local golf club's club-house. Despite the change of hands, Cornist Hall continued to cater for weddings up until its closure in 2012. Since its closure, Flint's local community have petitioned to save the building, in the hope that it will gain listed status and fall under the ownership of the local populace. In the past few years, since the closure of Cornist Hall, a number of local people have complained about the increase in anti-social behaviour and vandalism, suggesting that the former mansion is a magnet for such activities. The house is built in brick and stone in Jacobethan style.
