Homagama Divisional Secretariat is a Divisional Secretariat of Colombo District, of Western Province, Sri Lanka.

Pitipana North, Homagama (also known as Prasannapura North) is an administrative division of the town of Homagama in the Western Province of Sri Lanka. Bearing the grama niladhari code 484, the area had a population of 3,762 in 2012. The area is served by a sub-post office and shares a postcode with Pitipana Central- 10206.

Homagama is a town in the Colombo District, Sri Lanka, about 24 kilometres (15 mi) south-east of Colombo. The Homagama Pradeshiya Sabha consists of the Homagama divisional secretariat and 10 GN division of Padukka DS division. The total Land area is about is 137 square kilometres (53 sq mi) of 90 GN division. The Pradeshiya Sabha was established under act No 15 of 1987, and has the highest population of any pradeshiya sabha area in Sri Lanka. It is home to notable places, such as the campus of the National School of Business Management, Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology, the Panagoda Cantonment, Upali Newspapers, Mahinda Rajapaksha College Homagama, St. Michael's College, Homagama, Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka, Ceylon Biscuits Limited and the Laxapana Battery Company.

Colombo District (Sinhala: කොළඹ දිස්ත්‍රික්කය kol̠am̆ba distrikkaya; Tamil: கொழும்பு மாவட்டம் Koḻumpu Māvaṭṭam) is one of the 25 districts of Sri Lanka, the second level administrative division of the country. The district is administered by a District Secretariat headed by a District Secretary (previously known as a Government Agent) appointed by the central government of Sri Lanka. Panagoda Cantonment is a cantonment located in the western Western Province of Sri Lanka. It serves as the regimental headquarters of many regiments of the Sri Lanka Army and is an arsenal. It also houses one of the main Military Hospitals operated by the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps. It is one of the largest military bases in Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology (Sinhala: ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිනිති තාක්ෂණ ආයතනය; Tamil: இலங்கை நனோ தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவனம்) (abbreviated and commonly known as SLINTEC) is a Sri Lankan research institute specialising in the field of nanotechnology. It was incorporated in 2008 as a public-private partnership between the Government of Sri Lanka and five private companies, and is notable for being the first public-private research institute in the country.In 2017, it was accredited as a degree-awarding institution by the Ministry of Higher Education and Highways, leading to the establishment of the SLINTEC Academy.

The National School of Business Management (Sinhala: ජාතික ව්‍යාපාර කළමනාකාරීත්ව විද්‍යායතනය, Tamil: தேசிய வியாபார முகாமைத்துவ பாடசாலை) (also known as NSBM Green University Sinhala: NSBM හරිත සරසවිය, Tamil: NSBM பசுமைப் பல்கலைக்கழகம்) is a government recognized degree awarding institute in Sri Lanka. It was granted the degree awarding status by the Ministry of Education under Section 25A of the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978 and established under the Companies Act No. 07 of 2007 having the registration Number PB 4833. NSBM Green University offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the fields of Business, Computing, Engineering, Science and Design. It is located in Pitipana, Homagama, in the Colombo suburbs.

Rukmale is a village situated in the Maharagama Electorate, Colombo District, in the Western Province, Sri Lanka. It is administered by the Maharagama Urban Council. Surrounding towns include Kottawa, Malapalla, Horahena, Hokandara, Aturugiriya, Walgama, Pinketha, Homagama, Galawila and Makumbura. There are number of bus routes passing the area starting from Colombo, Maharagama, Kottawa, Aturuguruya, Malabe and Homagama. Colombo-Aturugiriya, route no.123 Colombo-Rukmalgama, route no. 138 Maharagama-Aturugiriya, route no.123 Kottawa-Malabe route no.376 Homagama-Maharagama route no.128.The proposed development project of Southern Expressway runs through Rukmale village. Approximate area is 1 square mile (640 acres). B. D. Rampala (Bamunusinghearachchige Don Rampala), mechanical engineer and General Manager of Sri Lanka Railways, was born in Rukmale.

The Institute of Technology, University of Moratuwa (Sinhala: තාක්ෂණික ආයතනය, මොරටුව විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය, Tamil: தொழில்நுட்பவியல் நிறுவனம், மொறட்டுவைப் பல்கலைக்கழகம்) (informally NDT) is an engineering college of the University of Moratuwa located in Diyagama, Sri Lanka. It awards the National Diploma in Technology.

Oruwala, also spelled Oruwela, was a village but is now a suburb of Colombo in the Colombo District, Western Province, Sri Lanka. It is located at the junction of B174 (Kaduwela - Athurugiriya Road) and M. D. H. Jayawardana Road, approximately 20 km (12 mi) south-east of Colombo. The Millennium City housing estate, the Ceylon Steel Corporation industrial estate and the Oruwala Public Cemetery are all located in Oruwala.
