Kaduwela Divisional Secretariat is a Divisional Secretariat of Colombo District, of Western Province, Sri Lanka. This divisional Secretariat also encompasses the area of the Kaduwela polling division.

Colombo District (Sinhala: කොළඹ දිස්ත්‍රික්කය kol̠am̆ba distrikkaya; Tamil: கொழும்பு மாவட்டம் Koḻumpu Māvaṭṭam) is one of the 25 districts of Sri Lanka, the second level administrative division of the country. The district is administered by a District Secretariat headed by a District Secretary (previously known as a Government Agent) appointed by the central government of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (Sinhala: ශ්‍රී ලංකා තොරතුරු තා‌ක්ෂණ ආයතනය; Tamil: இலங்கை தகவல் தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவனம்; also known as SLIIT) is a private university located in Malabe and Colombo, Sri Lanka. It specialises in various fields like technology and management.SLIIT has three campuses. The main campus being based in Malabe, Metropolitan Campus in Colombo and the new Kandy Campus based on Pallekele. There are also four regional centers around the island. SLIIT is associated with several world class universities such as University of Queensland, Curtin University and Liverpool John Moores University. SLIIT offers more the 75 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees on a vast field ranging from Computer Science to Education. These degrees are either affiliated with a foreign university or offered by the SLIIT themselves under the approval from the UGC. SLIIT is one of the few Sri Lankan universities on the QS Asia University Rankings and Times Higher Education World University Rankings. It is the only non-state university to be named on both of the lists.

Rukmale is a village situated in the Maharagama Electorate, Colombo District, in the Western Province, Sri Lanka. It is administered by the Maharagama Urban Council. Surrounding towns include Kottawa, Malapalla, Horahena, Hokandara, Aturugiriya, Walgama, Pinketha, Homagama, Galawila and Makumbura. There are number of bus routes passing the area starting from Colombo, Maharagama, Kottawa, Aturuguruya, Malabe and Homagama. Colombo-Aturugiriya, route no.123 Colombo-Rukmalgama, route no. 138 Maharagama-Aturugiriya, route no.123 Kottawa-Malabe route no.376 Homagama-Maharagama route no.128.The proposed development project of Southern Expressway runs through Rukmale village. Approximate area is 1 square mile (640 acres). B. D. Rampala (Bamunusinghearachchige Don Rampala), mechanical engineer and General Manager of Sri Lanka Railways, was born in Rukmale.

Nawagamuwa Pattini Devalaya is a historic temple situated in Nawagamuwa in Colombo District, Sri Lanka. Considering its importance in historical, architectural and anthropological facets, the Archaeological Department has declared the Devalaya as an protected monument in the country.Nawagamuwa also inherits archeological sites that dates back to BC period as per archaeological research conducted in the area. The Devalaya is popular among the masses for its miracles and to receive the blessings of the goddess Pattini. Also many Sri Lankan pregnant mothers go there to get a blessing from the goddess Pattini to their unborn child.

Boys' Model School, Malabe (ආදර්ශ පිරිමි විද්‍යාලය - මාලඹේ) is a Sri Lankan school for boys aged 6–19, serving classes 1–13. The school is situated in the vicinity of Malabe overlooking the Kaduwela – Battaramulla main road. The school is in the Kaduwela division and the Sri Jayawardhanapura zone. Current enrollment is approximately 4,000. (Sinhala / English).

Malwana (Sinhala: මල්වාන Tamil: மல்வான) is a town of 36,050 (estimate as of 2011) inhabitants in the Western Province of Sri Lanka. It is situated on the banks of the Kelani River, 14 km north-east of Colombo. It is part of the Gampaha District and Biyagama electoral division. Recognized all over Sri Lanka for the exotic Rambutan fruit that grows in the area, Malwana forms part of the Biyagama free-trade zone, where government incentives has drawn investors from around the world into manufacturing ventures involving clothing and light industry. Malwana Muslim area exist with several sub-areas as well as Raxapana, Vidanagoda, Malwana- Town, Daluggala, Thottam, Pallam, Kandawatta, Burulapitiya, Rajamalwatta, Malwatta, Walgama, Ulahitiwala, Pelangahawatta, Paaluwatta, Yatihena and other areas Yabaraluwa, Mapitigama, Barukanda, Wekanda, Nagahawatta.

Neville Fernando Hospital (also referred to as Dr Neville Fernando Sri Lanka – Russia Friendship Hospital or NFH) established in 2013 is a hi-tech multi speciality tertiary care teaching hospital. It is also one of the largest private hospital in Sri Lanka with 210 permanent beds and capable of accommodating about 1000 patients a day. It is the teaching hospital to the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) and is the first private teaching hospital in the country as well. NFH is located in Millennium Drive, off Chandrika Kumaratunga Mawatha, Malabe 10115. NFH is a brainchild of its Chairman Dr.Fernando and its main purposes are to provide clinical training facility for the medical students of the SAITM and to provide much sought after high quality private medical care to the Sri Lankan public at an affordable price.

Malabe (Sinhala: මාළබේ, Tamil: மாலபே) is a suburb of Colombo in the Colombo District, Sri Lanka. It is situated on the New Kandy Road (Kaduwela Road) about 10 km (6.2 mi) away from the centre of the commercial capital Colombo. This suburb is a crucial economic centre in Colombo.

Bomiriya Central/National College is a public college located in Kaduwela, a suburb of Colombo city in Western Province, Sri Lanka.

Malwana fort (Sinhala: මල්වාන බලකොටුව Malwana Balakothuwa) was located in Malwana, Gampaha, on the banks of the Kelani River. It was built by Portuguese in 1590s. The small fort served as a residence for the Portuguese Governor or Captain-Generals. Records indicate that a company of 70 soldiers were stationed at the fort. The fort was attacked by Kandyan forces in the 1630s. The Portuguese subsequently abandoned it and focused their forces on Colombo fort and its defence.There are records that indicate that the fort was also used by Dutch, with approx. 20–80 Dutch soldiers stationed there. It is likely that they would have reconstructed the fort during that time, although they later abandoned it as well.There are also stories that allege that Bhuvanaikabahu VII was assassinated by the Portuguese when he visited the Malwana fort.

Panagoda Cantonment is a cantonment located in the western Western Province of Sri Lanka. It serves as the regimental headquarters of many regiments of the Sri Lanka Army and is an arsenal. It also houses one of the main Military Hospitals operated by the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps. It is one of the largest military bases in Sri Lanka.
