The Silgar beach is a Galician beach located on the urban coastline of the municipality of Sanxenxo in the province of Pontevedra, Spain. It is 750 metres long and is bordered from end to end by the eponymous promenade.

It gave spectators a chance to see the race boats at close quarters. The 2013 edition of the Tour of Spain was held in the Rias Baixas, Galicia (Spain), between August 24 to September 14. Sanxenxo was the goal in the first stage of La Vuelta 2013 that began in Vilanova de Arousa in a Batea, a wooden platform out in the water used for farming of mussels, oysters and scallops.

The island is located east of the small town of O Grove, to which it is connected by an 18th-century bridge · It has a small urban centre called Isla de la Toja, belonging to the civil parish of San Martín, which had 42 inhabitants in 2018. It has an area of 110 hectares and is located about 30 km from Pontevedra.

The Bottlenose Dolphin Research Institute (BDRI) is a research and educational centre dedicated to the understanding and conservation of cetaceans and the marine environment in which they live. The Institute's BDRI center was founded by the biologist Bruno Díaz López in Sardinia, Italy in 2005. In 2014, the BDRI opened a new facility in Galicia, Spain. BDRI concentrates its efforts on research into dolphins because as predators, they can serve as indicators of the ecosystem’s health. The BDRI researches ways to alleviate threats to dolphins such as marine pollution, over-fishing, entanglement in nets, and whaling.

O Grove (alternative spelling: Ogrobe) is a municipality belonging to the province of Pontevedra, in Galicia, Spain. A peninsula that faces the Atlantic Ocean and the shores of O Salnés valley, enclosed by the southern Galician estuaries, the Rías Baixas.

O Morrazo (in Galician do Morrazo Spanish: El Morrazo) is a comarca in the Galician province of Pontevedra. It covers an area of 140.1 sq.km, and the overall population of this comarca was 83,305 at the 2011 Census; the latest official estimate (as at the start of 2018) was 82,445.It is bounded on the north by the estuary of Pontevedra, to the east with the comarca of Pontevedra, to the south with the Vigo estuary and to the west by the Atlantic Ocean. This is the smallest comarca in terms of area in Galicia, and one of the five most densely populated.
