Janakpuri Assembly constituency is one of the 70 Delhi Legislative Assembly constituencies of the National Capital Territory in northern India.

Tihar Prisons, also called Tihar Jail and Tihar Ashram, is a prison complex in India and the largest complex of prisons in South Asia. Run by Department of Delhi Prisons, Government of Delhi, the prison contains nine central prisons, and is one of the three prison complexes in Delhi. The other two prison complexes are at Rohini and Mandoli with one and six central prisons respectively. Tihar prison complex is located in Janakpuri, approximately 3 km from Tihar village in West Delhi. The prison is styled as a correctional institution. Its main objective is to convert its inmates into ordinary members of society by providing them with useful skills, education, and respect for the law. It aims to improve the inmates' self-esteem and strengthen their desire to improve. To engage, rehabilitate, and reform its inmates, Tihar uses music therapy, which involves music training sessions and concerts. The prison has its own radio station, run by inmates. There is also a prison industry within the walls, manned wholly by inmates, which bears the brand Tihar. As of December 2019, Tihar jail has 17,534 inmates against the sanctioned capacity of 10,026. The prison population as on 31.12.2019 has increased by 11.79% in comparison to the population as on 31.12.2018. That being said, some people have been executed at this jail.

Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church, Janakpuri is a parish church under the Delhi Diocese of the Indian Orthodox Church. The parish was formed in 1975 for the members of the church residing in West Delhi. The church is the first parish in Diocese of Delhi established in the name of St. Gregorios. Paulos Mar Gregorios, the first Metropolitan of Delhi Diocese, took the initiative in forming the Parish. The nearest Orthodox Church is St.George's Orthodox Church, Dwaraka.

She prayed and prayed until one day Guru Gobind Singh Ji's sons Sahibzada Zoravar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji came to her in a dream and told her that She was not blessed with a child, but instead a very famous Gurudwara would be built at the place of her home. Sure enough, today the 'Chhote Sahibjaade Gurudwara' is famous all over India, and people flock to view the Gurudwara and offer their prayers. It is also known as Mangal Gurdwara as the day Tuesday is considered auspicious. Hundreds visit Gurudwara on Tuesdays to fulfill their dreams, expectations, etc. which are said to come true. Fateh Nagar is very near to Choti sabji mandi, Prem Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Asha/Usha Park, Shiv Nagar, Varinder Nagar, Tilak Nagar, Subhash Nagar. Fateh Nagar is most famous for Its Gurudwara Chhote Sahibzade, Electronics and for latest design wooden furniture. It is near to the Famous Tihar Jail. Many food outlets are blooming here, including McDonald's, Domino's, 36 China Town, Gianis, Manjeet Chicken and a lot more. Also now many new brand showrooms have also started to set up. The Holy Gurudwara and Fateh Nagar Market which is also called as Jail Road Market is located on main road. You can find here both serviced and business-class families. Fateh Nagar is very neat and clean area. Even most of the properties are newly built. Nearest Metro station is Tilak Nagar station on Blue line. Tilak Nagar market is main market offering variety in clothes, shoes, groceries etc. Indian oil petrol pump is also available on the main jail road. Going from Tilak Nagar metro station on jail road takes one to Delhi Cantt. and eventually offer a short cut to IGI Airport and Gurugram.

Central Sanskrit University, formerly Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, is a central university located in New Delhi, India, to promote Sanskrit. Established in 1970, it functions under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. It offers B.A., B.Ed., M.A., M.Ed., and Ph.D. programs and offers a distance learning program in Sanskrit. In March 2020, the Indian Parliament passed the Central Sanskrit Universities Act, 2020 to upgrade it from deemed to be university status to central university status, along with two other universities Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University and National Sanskrit University.
