Walpole Cross Keys

Walpole railway station was a station in Norfolk. It is now disused. First opened in 1866, it was part of the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway line between the Midlands and the Norfolk coast. It took its name from the cluster of villages surrounding Walpole Hall, being nearest to Walpole Cross Keys. It was located very close to the Lincolnshire border. It closed along with the rest of the line in 1959.

The church is sited in the north part of the village, known as Walpole St Andrew, 8 miles (13 km) west of King's Lynn, to the south of the A17 road.

Walpole Highway and Walpole Cross Keys are separate civil parishes. The parish covers an area of 19.27 km2 (7.44 sq mi), and had a population of 1,707 in 654 households as of the 2001 Census, the population increasing to 1,804 at the 2011 Census.For the purposes of local government, Walpole falls within the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. An electoral ward in the same name exists. This ward had a population at the 2011 Census of 2,322.Edmund of Walpole was Abbot of Bury St Edmunds from 1248 to 1256.

Terrington St Clement is a village and civil parish in King's Lynn and West Norfolk borough and district in Norfolk, England. It is in the drained marshlands to the south of the Wash, 7 miles (11 km) west of King's Lynn, Norfolk, and 5 miles (8.0 km) east of Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire, on the old route of the A17 trunk road. The parish covers an area of 17.50 square miles (50 km2). Much of the farmland is of alluvial silt and clay which has been reclaimed from the sea amounting to approximately half of the total parish area. Terrington St Clement in area is the largest village in Norfolk, and the second largest in the country.

Terrington railway station is a former station in Terrington St Clement, Norfolk. It opened in 1866 and was closed in 1959. It was on the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway between the Midlands and Melton Constable.

Royal Air Force Sutton Bridge or more simply RAF Sutton Bridge is a former Royal Air Force station found next to the village of Sutton Bridge in the south-east of Lincolnshire. The airfield was to the south of the current A17, and east of the River Nene, next to Walpole in Norfolk.

Cross Keys Bridge is a swing bridge that carries the busy single carriageway A17 road which runs from Newark in Nottinghamshire to King's Lynn in Norfolk over the tidal River Nene in Sutton Bridge in the extreme south east of Lincolnshire close to the borders of both Norfolk and Cambridgeshire and is a major landmark on the route particularly for holiday traffic heading into and out of Norfolk during the summer months. It is the only crossing point for both traffic and pedestrians over the river north of the Cambridgeshire town of Wisbech some nine miles to the south of the bridge and provides the only direct link between Lincolnshire and Norfolk. When it was built in 1897, it was the third bridge to cross the Nene in Sutton Bridge. It was originally a dual-purpose bridge serving the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway on what is now the westbound carriageway and the road was on the eastbound side. The railway line was closed in 1965 and the bridge took on its present-day use as a road bridge with one single lane for eastbound traffic and a single lane for westbound traffic. It is a Grade II* listed structure.

Walpole Highway is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 10.48 km2 (4.05 sq mi) and had a population of 685 in 266 households at the 2001 census, the population increasing to 701 at the 2011 census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. The village lies to the south of the route of the A47 between Peterborough and King's Lynn.

Sutton Bridge Power Station is an 819 MW gas-fired power station in Sutton Bridge in the south-east of Lincolnshire in South Holland, England. It is situated on Centenary Way close to the River Nene. It is a major landmark on the Lincolnshire and Norfolk border and on clear days with its bright red lights it can be easily seen as far away as Hunstanton.
