Preobrazhenskoye Cemetery (Russian: Преображенское кладбище, lit. Transfiguration Cemetery) is a cemetery in the eastern part of Moscow long associated with Old Believers. It was inaugurated by a Fedoseevtsy merchant in 1777 as a plague quarantine disguising the Bespopovtsy monastery. At that time the territory of the cemetery was located outside Moscow, but near its border. The cemetery soon became the spiritual and administrative center of all the Fedoseevtsy in Russia (just like the Rogozhskoe cemetery became an administrative and cultural centre for most Popovtsy Old Believers). The cloister consisted of two equal square areas, a monastery for men and a nunnery for women, separated by a road to the cemetery. Construction work was in progress throughout the 1790s and the first decade of the 19th century. At that time, the monastery asylum was home to 1,500 people, while the chapels were attended by as many as 10,000 Old Believers. Every church within the monastery was styled a chapel; like other Bespopovtsy, the Fedoseevtsy reject priesthood, and so even their largest temples are called chapels rather than churches, since they have no altar. The area was surrounded by brick walls with decorative pseudo-gothic towers. In the mid-19th century the "male" part of the monastery was confiscated from the Fedoseevtsy by the imperial administration to be transformed into the monastery of the Edinovertsy, the only legal denomination of Old Believers in Imperial Russia. The cloister, which came to be known as the St Nicholas Monastery of the Edinovertsy, boasted the largest collection of Old Believer literature (the Khludov bequest) and as many as 1,300 ancient icons. After the October Revolution the St. Nicholas Monastery was occupied by the Obnovlentsy, while the icons and the books were taken to the State Historical Museum and the Tretyakov Gallery. Later the monastery was divided between the Pomortsy Old Believers and the nearby parish of the official Russian Orthodox Church. The orthodox parish took a church above the gates with surrounding quarters, a bell-tower and a western part of the temple. The eastern part of the temple and several utilities in the western part of the territory belong to Pomortsy. The two parts of a single temple are currently separated by a thick brick wall, and compartments are occupied by different denominations. The women's part of Preobrazhenka avoided such a dissension, and still belongs to the Fedoseevtsy. The cemetery is also noted as a place where the first Eternal flame in Moscow was kindled in order to commemorate the World War II dead.

Moscow Polytechnic University (Russian: Московский политехнический университет, romanized: Moskovski politekhnicheski universitet) or Moscow Polytech is a university in Moscow, Russia. It specializes in the field of automobile design and tractor design. It was founded in 1865 as Komissarov Technical School. From 2012 to 2016, its name was Moscow State University of Mechanical Engineering (MAMI) (Russian: Московский Государственный Машиностроительный Университет (МАМИ)), where MAMI stood for Moscow Automechanical Institute.

Salyut Machine-Building Production Association (Russian: Научно-производственный центр газотурбостроения «Салют») is a company based in Moscow, Russia. NPC Saljut have three plants and office with further plants outside Moscow city. It is a subsidiary of United Engine Corporation.Salyut is a leading commercial and military aircraft engine production association. Aircraft engine repairs and diagnostic services are also provided. Under conversion programs, Salyut produces a variety of commercial machinery and small engines.Salyut manufactured the AL-21F turbofan engine for the Su-24 Fencer and the AL-31F engine for the Su-27 Flanker.

Preobrazhenskaya Ploshchad (Russian: Преображе́нская пло́щадь, English: Transfiguration Square) is a Moscow Metro station in the Preobrazhenskoye District, Eastern Administrative Okrug, Moscow. It is on the Sokolnicheskaya Line, between Sokolniki and Cherkizovskaya stations.

Preobrazhenskoye District (Russian: райо́н Преображе́нское) is a district of Eastern Administrative Okrug in the federal city of Moscow, Russia.

Sokolinaya Gora District (Russian: район Соколиная Гора, "Falcon Hill") is an administrative district (raion) of Eastern Administrative Okrug, and one of the 125 raions of Moscow, Russia. The area of the district is 7.961 square kilometers (3.074 sq mi). Population: 84,100 (2017 est.).

Elektrozavodskaya (Russian: Электрозаво́дская) is a Moscow Metro station on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line. It is one of the better-known stations of the system. Built as part of the third stage of the Moscow Metro and opened on 15 May 1944 during World War II, the station is one of the iconic symbols of the system, famous for its architectural decoration which is work of architects Vladimir Shchuko (who died whilst working on the station's project in 1939) and Vladimir Gelfreich, along with participation of his student Igor Rozhin. The station serves the Basmanny district and is located on the Bolshaya Semyonovskaya Street, next to the Yauza River. The railway station Elektrazavodskaya of the Kazan direction is also located nearby. In May 2007, the station was closed for a year during which the escalators were completely replaced, along with the floor panels. Most of the details and finishes including Motovilov's bas-reliefs were refurbished. The station was reopened on 28 November 2008. By 2022, the station will be open to go to the Bolshaya Koltsevaya line named Elektrozavodskaya.

Moscow Electric Lamp Plant (Russian: Московский электроламповый завод) is a company based in Moscow, Russia. The Moscow Electric Lamp Production Association has been a leader in the development and production of vacuum tubes for both civil and military use. It is a major producer of cathode ray tubes (CRTs) for color television receivers, and for many years was one of the largest producers in Russia of photoelectronic multiplier tubes (used in light sensing devices). The Association includes three major production facilities: the Moscow Electrovacuum Instrument Plant, which is co-located with the association; the Khromatron Plant, located elsewhere in Moscow; and the Electrovacuum Instrument Plant in Voronezh.The Moscow Electrovacuum Instrument Plant, with its two associated special design bureaus, specializes in developing and producing a variety of vacuum tube products (photoelectric cells, xenon and mercury tubes, gas-filled and gas discharge devices, photoelectronic multipliers and others). This plant dates back to before World War II, and was known, until 1972, as the Moscow Electric Lamp Plant (MELZ). The Khromatron Plant in Moscow and the Electrovacuum Instrument Plant in Voronezh, produce mainly CRTs for color television.

Serebryanka (Izmaylovka in a past - Robka) is a river in the north-east of Moscow, left tributary of Khapilovka, in turn a tributary of the Yauza.

Elektrozavodskaya (Russian: Электрозаводская) is a station on the Bolshaya Koltsevaya line of the Moscow Metro. The station was opened on 31 December 2020 as a one-station extension from Lefortovo and provisionally functions as part of Nekrasovskaya line. The station serves as a transfer point to the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line.

The Rybenka (Russian: Рыбенка or Рыбинка - Rybinka) is a small river in the north-east of Moscow. Rybenka is a right tributary to river Yauza. The length of the river is about 5 km (most of which, put in the pipe underneath the city). The area of the river basin is 3.5 square kilometers. Rybenka runs through the western border of Sokolniki Urban Forest Park, across the Sokol'necheski Val, 2nd, 3rd Rybinskaya and Rusakovskiya streets into the river Yauza near The Elektrozavodsky (Electro-factory) bridge. In the mouth of the river and in an area of 3rd Rybinskaya street in the past has been a series of ponds, once rich with fish (hence its name). Now the river runs primarily in the pipes underneath the city. The river history was preserved in the names of two streets in Sokolniki District of Moscow (near Sokolnicheskiy Val street) - 2nd and 3rd Rybinskaya streets.

Moscow State University of Instrument Engineering and Computer Science (MSUIECS (MGUPI in Russian); is one of the technical universities of Moscow and Russia. Founded in 1936 as the Moscow Correspondence Institute of the metal industry. MSUIECS offers a wide range of educational programs to prepare specialists, masters, bachelors, PhDs and doctors of different sciences.
