Seojeongni station

Songtan station is a ground level metro station in Songtan, a district of Pyeongtaek in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The station is on Line 1 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway, which runs from Soyosan in Dongducheon to Cheonan in Chungcheongnam-do. The line also serves Osan, Suwon, and Seoul. Unlike most pre-existing stations on Line 1 which opened with the collocated Gyeongbu Line in 1905, Songtan station was built during the Korean War in 1952 to handle track switching for branch lines leading to the nearby newly built Osan Air Base. After the war, the Bidulgi class of commuter trains began to call on Songtan station, but these were phased out in the 1990s. In 2005, Line 1 was extended south of Suwon and the current station building was opened to service the new line. In 2010, a taxi stand was constructed to facilitate drop-off and pick-up of passengers right outside the concourse entrance. The station is close to Osan Air Base and the western-style shopping district commonly called "Main Gate". Visitors can exit the subway station and take a taxi to "Main Gate" and be there in a few minutes. Located next to Songtan station is Tae-kwan Middle School and High School.

Songtan is an area in the northern end of Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggido, South Korea. Songtan achieved city status in its own right in 1981, five years earlier than Pyeongtaek, but merged, along with Pyeongtaek County, into Pyeongtaek City in May 1995 (during the 1995 municipal annexation in South Korea). Most residents still consider it to have an identity separate from the rest of Pyeongtaek City. To appease some discontent at the merger, Pyeongtaek City officials decided to keep the Songtan City Hall intact and convert it into a branch office of the Pyeongtak City Hall, where Songtan residents can still go for city provided services. At consolidation, Songtan had over 110,000 residents, slightly less than the population of pre-consolidation Pyeongtaek City. The district has an administrative office which formerly served as Songtan City Hall. Songtan's best known feature is Osan Air Base, a United States Air Force base which spawned the growth of the area and is a major factor in the district's economy. Songtan station and Seojeong-ri station serve Songtan, and connect it to Seoul and other cities like: Cheonan, Osan, Suwon, and Anyang via the Seoul Metropolitan Subway on Seoul Subway Line 1. In addition to regular subway trains, Seojeong-ri station features some Korail trains and Seoul Subway Line 1 Express subway trains. Pyeongtaek station is two stops south of Seojeong-ri station on Seoul Subway Line 1 and has a larger Korail station.

PyeongtaekJije Station (formerly known as Jije station) is a subway station located in Pyeongtaek, South Korea. It serves the SRT and Seoul Subway Line 1. A large E-Mart store is very close to the station. On 24 November 2020, the name was changed to PyeongtaekJije.

Osan Air Base (IATA: OSN, ICAO: RKSO) (K-55; Korean: 오산공군기지; Hanja: 烏山空軍基地) is a United States Air Force (USAF) and Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) base located near Songtan station in the city of Pyeongtaek, South Korea, 64 km (40 mi) south of Seoul. Despite its name, Osan AB is not within Osan City, which is 7.5 km (4.7 mi) to the north. The base is the home of the headquarters for Seventh Air Force, Pacific Air Forces' 51st Fighter Wing, and a number of tenant units. The base is also the headquarters of the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) Operations Command. Osan Air Base is also the departure and arrival point for U.S. government-contracted "Patriot Express" flights bringing service members and their family members to South Korea from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in the U.S. state of Washington, Misawa Air Base and Yokota Air Base in Japan. As the most forward deployed permanently based wing in the Air Force, and equipped with A-10 Thunderbolt IIs and F-16 Fighting Falcons (about 48 aircraft), the 51st Fighter Wing is charged with executing combat operations, receiving follow-on forces and defending the base from attack. As the air component to United States Forces Korea and Combined Forces Command, 7th Air Force provides the command and control structures and personnel necessary to deliver precise, persistent, combined air and space power in defense of the Republic of Korea. Osan Air Base is one of two major U.S. Air Force installations operated by U.S. Forces Korea, the other being Kunsan Air Base.

Jinwi Station is a station on Seoul Subway Line 1 in the city of Pyeongtaek, South Korea. Services on the Gyeongbu Line also pass through at this station. During the planning stage it was going to be called Habuk Station (하북역), but at the request of the residents at Jinwi-myeon, the city government renamed it to Jinwi Station.

Osan (Korean: 오산; Korean pronunciation: [o.san]) is a city in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, approximately 35 km (22 mi) south of Seoul. The population of the city is around 200,000. The local economy is supported by a mix of agricultural and industrial enterprises. It is famous for one of the largest markets in South Korea, Osan Market, which has been in continuous operation since 1792. The city was the scene of the first battle between the US and North Korea during the Korean War in 1950; there is a statue and museum dedicated to UN forces on the outskirts of the city. The United States Air Force base named after the city, Osan Air Base, is not actually located in the city, but is instead 8 km (5.0 mi) south, in the Songtan district (formerly a separate city) of Pyeongtaek. Osan Station is a large subway station located in the heart of Osan. It is part of the Seoul Subway Line 1 and the KTX. There is a bus terminal next to the subway station and many buses stop in front of the subway station.

Osan University Station is a station on Seoul Subway Line 1. Osan University, despite the name of the station, is about a mile away from this station, and is closer to the next station on Line 1.

The Battle of Osan (Korean: 오산 전투) was the first engagement between the United States and North Korea during the Korean War. On July 5, 1950, Task Force Smith, an American task force of 540 infantry supported by an artillery battery, was moved to Osan, south of Seoul, the capital of South Korea, and was ordered to fight as a rearguard to delay the advancing North Korean forces while more US troops arrived to form a stronger defensive line to the south. The task force lacked both anti-tank guns and effective infantry anti-tank weapons and had been equipped with obsolete 2.36-inch (60 mm) rocket launchers and a few 57 mm recoilless rifles. Aside from a limited number of HEAT shells for the unit's 105 mm howitzers, crew-served weapons that could defeat T-34/85 tanks from the Soviet Union had not yet been distributed to the US Army forces in South Korea. A North Korean tank column equipped with ex-Soviet T-34/85 tanks overran the task force in the first encounter and continued its advance south. After the North Korean tank column had breached US lines, the task force opened fire on a force of some 5,000 North Korean infantry that were approaching its position, which held up their advance. North Korean troops eventually flanked and overwhelmed the US positions, and the rest of the task force retreated in disorder.

Sema Station is a station on Seoul Subway Line 1 in the city of Osan, South Korea. Services on the Gyeongbu Line also pass through this station.

Doksan Fortress (Hangul: 독산성, Hanja: 禿山城) is a Korean hill fort located in Osan, South Korea. It is known for the Siege of Doksan in 1593, where the Japanese failed to defeat Gwon Yul during the Imjin War. Located within the fort are the Bujek Buddhist Temple and the Semadae, a monument to Gwon Yul's victory. The site is designated as a Historic Site of South Korea. The annual Doksanseong Culture and Art Festival takes place near the fort each September.
