Grundloses Moor

The Fulde is a river of Lower Saxony, Germany. It belongs to the Weser river system. It is about 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) long and flows entirely within the territory of the borough of Walsrode (Heidekreis district. It rises in a valley between two parallel end moraines formed in the Saalian Ice Age. By far the largest source drains the Grundloses Moor ("bottomless moor"), 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) north of Fulde and emerges from the Kleiner See ("Little Lake") there. Another source appears 2.5 kilometres (1.6 mi) northwest of the village of Fulde, which gave the stream its name. From there the Fulde runs through, at times, picturesque scenery between steep, grass-covered, clay banks and fish ponds south of the Walsrode town forest of Eckernworth, where the Rischmannshof Heath Museum is located, crosses the centre of the town through the Fulde Park with its town hall and joins the River Böhme south of the Walsrode Abbey lake.

Walsrode (German pronunciation: [valsˈʁoːdə] ; Low German: Wasra) is a town in the district of Heidekreis, in Lower Saxony, Germany. The former municipality Bomlitz was merged into Walsrode in January 2020.

Walsrode World Bird Park (German: Weltvogelpark Walsrode), known as Jubs in English until 2010, is a bird park located in the middle of the Lüneburg Heath in North Germany within the municipality of Bomlitz near Walsrode in the state of Lower Saxony, Germany. It is the largest bird park in the world in terms of species as well as land area, although the Bird Paradise in Singapore (formerly the Jurong Bird Park) claims the largest number of individual birds. Walsrode World Bird Park covers 24 hectares (59 acres) and houses some 4,000 birds of 600 species from every continent and climatic zone in the world. The park celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in 2012.

The Rischmannshof Heath Museum (German: Heidemuseum Rischmannshof) is an open-air museum in Walsrode, Germany.

Walsrode Abbey (German: Kloster Walsrode) in Walsrode, Germany, is one of the historic monasteries of Benedictine nuns on the Lüneburg Heath in North Germany which are collectively known as the Lüneklöster. Today it is a Lutheran women's convent that is maintained by the Hanover monastic chamber (Klosterkammer Hannover).

The Vehmsmoor is a nature reserve in North Germany. It is located in the borough of Walsrode within the district of Soltau-Fallingbostel in Lower Saxony. Its classification number is NSG LÜ 182.

Visselhövede (German pronunciation: [fɪsəlˈhøːvədə] ) is a town in the district of Rotenburg in Lower Saxony, Germany. Nearby towns include the district capital Rotenburg, Walsrode and Verden. Larger cities within a 100 km radius are Bremen, Hanover and Hamburg. Visselhövede belonged to the Prince-Bishopric of Verden, established in 1180. In 1648 the Prince-Bishopric was transformed into the Principality of Verden, which was first ruled in personal union by the Swedish Crown - interrupted by a Danish occupation (1712–1715) - and from 1715 on by the Hanoverian Crown. The Kingdom of Hanover incorporated the Principality in a real union and the Princely territory, including Visselhövede, became part of the new Stade Region, established in 1823.

Benzen is a village and Ortschaft in the town of Walsrode in the Heidekreis district, Lower Saxony, north Germany.

The Jordanbach is a river of Lower Saxony, Germany. It is a right-bank tributary of the Böhme. The Jordanbach lies entirely within the borough of Walsrode which is part of Heidekreis district in Lower Saxony. It is about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) long and has its source in the bog Vehmsmoor, which it drains. It flows in a southerly direction through Altenboitzen and discharges southwest of the village into the Böhme. The Jordanbach gives its name to a railway line between Bomlitz and Altenboitzen, that is nowadays only used for tourist purposes, such as the special trains of the Heath Express run by the Lüneburg Transport Society (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Verkehrsfreunde Lüneburg). This section of the Verden – Walsrode line operated by the Verden-Walsrode Railway, which was formed in 1910, is also called the Jordan-Bomlitz Railway, because it runs from the valley of the Jordanbach to the Bomlitz valley.

Benefeld is part of the municipality of Walsrode in the Lower Saxon Heidekreis district in north Germany. Benefeld has a population of 2,232, although its parish covers just 2 km² (as at 2008).

Altenboitzen is a village and today a village within the borough of Walsrode in Heidekreis district in the German state of Lower Saxony. Formerly an independent municipality, it is part of Walsrode since 1974.

Bomlitz is a village and a former municipality in the Heidekreis district, in Lower Saxony, Germany. On 1 January 2020, it was merged into the town Walsrode.
