Horta-Guinardó (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈɔɾtə ɣinəɾˈðo]) is the name of one of the districts of Barcelona, located in its North-Eastern corner. It is named after two very heterogeneous areas of the city, Horta and el Guinardó, which together cover a large area of 11.92 km², amounting to 11.9% of the total area of the city. A former municipality that eventually became part of the city in the late 19th century, it is bordered by five out of ten districts of Barcelona (Gràcia, Nou Barris, Eixample, Sant Andreu and Sant Martí), and by two other municipalities of the metropolitan area (Sant Cugat and Cerdanyola del Vallès). It underwent rapid urbanisation process from the 1950s.

Guinardó | Hospital de Sant Pau (until 2009 Guinardó) is a station of the Barcelona Metro, on L4, serving Ronda del Guinardó and Plaça del Guinardó. It opened in 1974. The station is due to become part of double line L9-L10 in the near future.

Alfons X (Catalan pronunciation: [əlˈfonz ˈðɛw]) is a Barcelona metro station, located under Ronda Guinardó and Plaça d'Alfons el Savi, named after Alfonso X of Castile, in the Horta-Guinardó district of Barcelona. Opened in 1974, the station is currently served by L4. It has three entrances, one on the square itself, a second one next to Parc de les Aigües and another one on Carrer Lepant. As of 2007 it is the only metro service in the surrounding area (Can Baró), and will be until Sanllehy metro station on L9 and L10 is complete.

Vilapicina is a station on line 5 of the Barcelona Metro. The station is located underneath Passeig Fabra i Puig, between Carrer Teide and Carrer Petrarca. It was opened in 1959, and served as a terminus until the opening of Horta in 1967. The station has a ticket hall on either end, one with two accesses, the other with one. The station has two platforms and three tracks, the outermost one leading to the nearby train depot.

It was opened in 1967, when an extension of the line into the neighbourhood of the same name from Vilapicina was opened. The partially curved island-platform station has a ticket hall at either end, one with two accesses, the other with one. Horta was the terminus before the line was extended in July 2010 towards Vall d'Hebron, meeting L3.

The former Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (Catalan pronunciation: [uspiˈtal də lə ˈsantə ˈkɾɛw i ˈsam ˈpaw], English: Hospital of the Holy Cross and Saint Paul) in the neighborhood of El Guinardó, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, is a complex built between 1901 and 1930. It is one of the most prominent works of the Catalan modernisme architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. The complex was listed as a Conjunto Histórico in 1978. Together with Palau de la Música Catalana, it is declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998.Being composed of 12 pavilions connected through long underground galleries within its large green space, Sant Pau is the largest complex built in Art Nouveau style. It was a fully functioning hospital until June 2009, when the new hospital opened next to it, before undergoing restoration for use as a museum and cultural center, which opened in 2014. Besides being an important historical and architectural masterpiece, the building also offers workspaces for high-profile social organizations such as WHO, Banco Farmacéutico, Barcelona Health Hub, EMEA, UN-HABITAT and more. The cultural center also has an historical archive in which the records and documents of remarkable occurrences related to the hospital and the city can be found. The archives are open for visiting and offers information to users and researchers with the information and reprographics service, in addition to a reading room.

The Old Hospital de la Santa Creu is a 15th-to-18th-century building complex in Barcelona, which formerly served as a hospital and hospice and currently is the home of the National Library of Catalonia, the Institute for Catalan Studies, the former College of Surgeons, and an art school. It has been declared a Historic and Artistic Landmark of National Interest.
