Sutton Bingham Reservoir is a reservoir near the village of Sutton Bingham in the civil parish of Closworth, Somerset, England. The reservoir was built in the 1950s to supply water to Yeovil. The remains of Sutton Mill are under the water, and close to the shore is the 12th-century Church of All Saints.It now provides an environment for overwintering wildfowl and migrant birds including the osprey. It is also used for fishing, and sailing by Sutton Bingham Sailing Club and the Sutton Bingham and District Canoe Club.

The Helyar Almshouses were erected between 1640 and 1660 by William Helyar Archdeacon of Barnstable of Coker Court, East Coker, Somerset, England. The building work was interrupted by the plague of 1645, and the English Civil War and the almshouses were not completed until 1660, by which time, the Archdeacon was dead, and the work was completed by his grandson (also William Helyar). In 1868 the almshouses had an income of £46 per annum (equivalent to £4,403 in 2021). It still operates a charity and had an income of £9,313 in 2005.

Coker Court is a substantial manor house in East Coker, Somerset, England. It was built in the fifteenth and eighteenth centuries and has been designated as a Grade I listed building. It was erected by the Courtney family who were lords of the manor and rectors of the adjacent parish church. The building is constructed from locally quarried Hamstone with roofs composed of stone tiles.

Hymerford House (which has also been known as Grove Farm, Manor House and Bridge Farm) in East Coker, Somerset, England was built in the 15th century and it has been designated as a Grade I listed building.The original hall house was built of local stone with hamstone dressing and the walls are rendered. In the 16th century the house was altered with the addition of porches to the front and back. The west front is of six bays. Attached to the house is the 18th-century Grove Cottage. In the grounds is a 19th-century sheep dip.The sailor and explorer William Dampier was born in the house in 1651.

Naish Priory in East Coker, Somerset, England, contains portions of a substantial house dating from the mid 14th century to around 1400. Emery says the building was not a priory as it had been termed by the late 19th-century owner Troyte Chafyn Grove, and there appears no evidence of ownership by a religious house or the residence of a large community of monks on the site. However, there is evidence of a dormitory and communal living dating from the 14th century, and the extant buildings grew on a foundation that had religious obligations by way of chantry to the de Courtenay Earls of Devon from at least 1344. It has been designated as a Grade I listed building, with the attached Priory Cottage and northern boundary railings.Naish Priory and surrounding farm land ("Naish") is a medieval period establishment of Romano–British and Saxon origin, sited directly equidistant between two Roman Villas. During Saxon times it formed part of the estate of Gytha Thorkelsdóttir, which passed to her son Harold II of England as part of his royal manor, and it was a significant journey stop on the important route from Winchester, Salisbury and Shaftesbury into Devon and Cornwall. The extant 14th century buildings evidence primary links to the important de Courtenay family of the medieval period, Earls of Devon, close blood relatives of the Plantagenet, Lancastrian and Tudor kings, and one of the most important English Renaissance families. They had received rights of the royal Coker Manor via the de Redvers and de Mandeville families who had been given the estates by William II of England after the Norman Conquest that led to their confiscation from Harold Godwinson King of England and his mother. Hutton claimed that the "venerable" Naish was site of the original Coker Manor House of the de Mandeville family.Naish's local and national historic significance is only now, after its Grade 1 listing in 1961 to protect it from encroachment by Yeovil's expansion, beginning to be fully assessed. Naish has been restored since the end of the 19th century and is maintained as a Grade 1 listed unified dwelling.

Halstock is a village and civil parish in the county of Dorset in southern England, situated approximately five miles (8.0 km) south of Yeovil in Somerset. It lies on the route of the ancient Harrow Way. In the 2011 census the parish had a population of 546.Halstock formerly constituted a liberty, containing only the parish itself. It was the site of the martyrdom of Saint Juthwara (Juthware), and a Romano-British Villa excavated between 1967 and 1985.The village formerly had two inns, "The New Inn" (New Inn Farm), which closed in the late 1950s, and the unusually named "The Quiet Woman" (usually taken as a reference to St Juthware) In July 2012, Halstock's Parish church of St Mary was rededicated by the Bishop of Sherborne to become "St Juthware and St Mary", in recognition of the local tradition. Much of the church was rebuilt in 1770, with only the 15th-century west tower not being affected. The nave and chancel were rebuilt again on separate dates in the 19th century.Halstock lies within an electoral ward of the same name, which also contains several nearby parishes including Corscombe, Evershot and Hilfield. The population of this ward at the 2011 census was 1,848. This ward is one of 32 that comprise the West Dorset parliamentary constituency, which is currently represented in the UK national parliament by the Conservative Chris Loder, who succeeded Oliver Letwin in 2019.
