Bellaterra

Bellaterra is a railway station on the Sabadell branch of the Barcelona-Vallès line of the FGC, located in the Bellaterra neighborhood of Cerdanyola del Vallès, about 17 km from Barcelona in Spain. Construction began in 1929 and the station opened on 22 June 1930.

Sabadell Airport (IATA: QSA, ICAO: LELL) is located next to the city of Sabadell, 20 kilometres (12 mi) from Barcelona's city centre, in Catalonia. This, and the Cuatro Vientos Airport, are the most important airports for general aviation in Spain. There are more than 200 aircraft registered at this airport, completing around 150.000 operations per year. There are more than 400 people working at these facilities, including training schools, workshops, etc. This airport hosts the oldest aviation club in Spain. 70% of the activity of this airport is devoted to pilot training (both fixed wing and rotary). The other 30% is for advertising flights, photography, and aerotaxi, private flights and institutional flights.

The Centre de Recerca Matemàtica (CRM) (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈsentɾə ðə rəˈsɛɾkə mətəˈmatikə]) is a consortium, with its own legal status, integrated by the Institut d'Estudis Catalans (IEC) and the Catalan Government. It is a research institute associated with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The CRM is in essence a horizontal infrastructure that gives support to mathematical research groups and encourages the pursuit of emerging lines of research. The centre's activities are divided into two very different categories. The first category places the centre as organiser of international competitions (intensive research programmes, advances courses, conferences, etc.) and as a centre for long-term visiting researchers working in collaboration with the research community of Catalonia. Secondly, since 2008 CRM includes its own research groups, which allows it to open lines of research in different applied areas. The current director of the CRM is Lluís Alsedà. The CRM is a member of ERCOM (European Research Centres in Mathematics). Through its postdoctoral programme, the institute is also part of EPDI (European Postdoctoral Institute). The CRM has the following goals: To carry out research programmes on high-level topics. To attract the best post-doctoral fellows by way of competitive programmes of various administrations and agencies. To consolidate mechanisms for an efficient service to mathematicians. To take further steps towards becoming as competitive as the best European research centres and those of other scientifically developed countries of similar characteristics.

The Barcelona Synchrotron Park (BSP) is a 408-hectare (1.5 square mile) business park centered on the ALBA synchrotron that has been in operation since 2012. It is located on the northern outskirts of Barcelona, at the heart of Àmbit B30, an industrial territory of about 30,000 companies. The Park is a member of the Network of Science and Technology Parks of Catalonia (XPCAT). BSP is flanked on one side by the Research Park at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (PRUAB) and the Vallès Technology Park (PTV). While roughly half of the Park is designated for high tech companies and both residential and commercial development, a full 189 hectares are devoted to green space. In October 2016, BSP was awarded the Business & Biodiversity label by the European Commission for its agenda in favour of protecting its biodiversity. Locally known as Parc de l’Alba, BSP is a public consortium between the local city council of Cerdanyola del Vallès and the government of Catalonia through INCASÒL, the agency in charge of the management of public lands.

ALBA (meaning "Sunrise" in Catalan and in Spanish) is a third-generation synchrotron light source facility located in the Barcelona Synchrotron Park in Cerdanyola del Vallès near Barcelona, in Catalonia (Spain). It was constructed and is operated by CELLS (sp: Consorcio para la Construcción, Equipamiento y Explotación del Laboratorio de Luz de Sincrotrón, the Consortium for the Exploitation of the Synchrotron Light Laboratory), and co-financed by the Spanish central administration and regional Catalan Government.After nearly ten years of planning and design work by the Spanish scientific community, the project was approved in 2002 by the Spanish and the regional Catalan governments. After scientific workshops and meetings with prospective users, the facility was redesigned in 2004, and in 2006 construction started. The laboratory was officially opened for experiments on seven beamlines in March 2010.

The Sant Cugat Museum (Catalan: Museu de Sant Cugat, Spanish: Museo de Sant Cugat) was opened on 23 April 2003; its mission was to oversee the conservation and dissemination of the historic, artistic and cultural heritage of Sant Cugat del Vallès in Catalonia. It is part of the Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network and has two centres: the Sant Cugat Monastery and Casa Aymat plus two other buildings, the Celler Modernista and the Chapel of Sant Domenec. In both areas there are spaces reserved for temporary exhibitions related to art, history and local and universal heritage. In addition, the Museum works to recover the heritage and memory of the town, periodically organising walks that help people discover local history and heritage.

The Monastery of Sant Cugat (Catalan: Monestir de Sant Cugat, Spanish: Monasterio de San Cugat del Vallés) is a Benedictine abbey in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Catalonia, Spain. Founded in the ninth century, and under construction until the 14th century, it was the most important monastery in the county of Barcelona. Its most notable architectural feature is its large Romanesque cloister.

The Japanese School in Barcelona (バルセロナ日本人学校, Baruserona Nihonjin Gakkō, Spanish: Colegio Japonés de Barcelona; Catalan: Col·legi Japonès de Barcelona) is a Japanese international school in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Catalonia, Spain, in Greater Barcelona. It is about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) northeast of central Barcelona. Many Japanese families live along the school's bus route in northern Barcelona.The Hoshuko Barcelona Educación Japonesa/Escuela de Educación Japonesa en Barcelona (バルセロナ補習校 Baruserona Hoshūkō), a weekend supplementary Japanese school, holds its classes in the Colegio Japonés de Barcelona building.

Àmbit metropolità de Barcelona (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈambid mətɾupuliˈta ðə βəɾsəˈlonə]) is one of the seven territories defined by the Regional Plan of Catalonia (Catalan: Pla territorial general de Catalunya). It is located in the central coast of Catalonia, in Barcelona (capital city of Catalonia) and its influence area. It is formed of five comarques: Baix Llobregat, Barcelonès, Maresme, Vallès Occidental and Vallès Oriental. It has been suggested by local authorities that Alt Penedès and Garraf should form a separate administrative entity called Vegueria del Penedès, as Penedès was a historical territory, or vegueria, with two comarques: Baix Penedès (Camp de Tarragona) and Anoia (Comarques Centrals). To a large extent coincides with the Barcelona metropolitan area. Àmbit metropolità is the most populous vegueria with 5,012,961 inhabitants (2010), and a density of 1,549 inhabitants/km2.

Sant Quirze del Vallès is a town located in the comarca of the Vallès Occidental, province of Barcelona, Catalonia. It is located about 12 miles away from the capital city, Barcelona. Sant Quirze is a residential town populated by approximately 20,000 people with a density of 1.432,27 hab/km², and has grown since the end of the 1990s onwards. It shares borders with Sabadell, Rubí, Terrassa and Sant Cugat, among others, which are important towns within the Barcelona area, since they form Catalonia's most important industrial area and probably also Spain's. Sant Quirze del Vallès is located near the mountain range of the Serra dels Galliners. It has direct access to C58 highway to Barcelona, among others like C58 Manresa and AP7 highway to Girona, Tarragona and Lleida.

Sant Cugat is a railway station in Sant Cugat del Vallès in Catalonia, Spain. It is served by lines S1, S2, S5, and S55 of the Metro del Vallès commuter rail system, which are operated by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), who also runs the station.Sant Cugat is the last station before the Metro del Vallès branches to Terrassa (lines S1 and S5) and Sabadell (lines S2 and S55) split and take different routes. Sant Cugat is also the outer terminus of some trains on line S5. The station is in fare zone 2C of the Autoritat del Transport Metropolità fare system.The station has twin tracks, with two side platforms, and a pedestrian subway links the two platforms. Immediately to the north of the station is a flat junction between the two branches. Beyond this junction, between the tracks of the Sabadell branch, is a siding used to reverse trains on line S55.The station opened in 1917 with the opening of the line from Les Planes.
